Delicious frozen custard and friendly service! My favorite place for dessert in the OBX. If you like chocolate, try the Kona Kick sundae.

Really really good. Try a hurricane eddy and split a small unless you didn't eat dinner.

The locals were nice, the service was quick and obviously based on how many times we revisited this establishment, the custard was amazing!

It is currently 11:20am and no one is answering the phone. The line is about 30 PO'd people making alternate plans now and still no signs of life other than the first sighting of an employee. Would not suggest counting on this place to plan family entertainment as they seem to struggle with reading a clock or answering a phone. Oh wait... employees are carrying out box but won't answer the simple question of when they will open. It's 11:30 am. But wait, there's more..... So, about 5 minutes after a group of about 15 left and we were on our way back to the car, they opened the doors. I grabbed a few shots of the broken down machines but more importantly let me explain a critical piece of how this place works. We selected the option of buying 200 tokens for $50.00. Our 2 15 yr olds blew through them in about 45 minutes and that's being generous. Why? Because many of the games took 7, 12, and 20 tokens to play a single game! Another point to raise is that they never opened the laser tag game while we were there. This place was a great disappointment and if you wonder why their Google reviews are so high, they give you $5.00 off for a good review.

It was great to see it open again in June 2025 after being closed the previous summer. My large…read morefamily group had a great experience playing laser tag on a rainy day.

It wasn't crowded when we arrived at 5:30 which was perfect for how slow our gals were playing. The course needs a bit of upkeep, which is the reason for my one star deduction, but that really didn't matter much to us. Some of the greens were tattered and a few loose bricks etc. It is cash only but they have an ATM on site! The holes weren't too challenging either which was a plus with kids. They even have a cute little putter for the smallest kids! Of all the courses we have been to, this one is the one to get the bang for your buck if you have small kiddos!

Bottom Line: Cash only and definitely worn but a good price and not crowded…read more My nephews are miniature golf fanatics and when it comes to putt putt at the Outer Banks they really like Jurassic Putt because there are two courses and it's never crowded. The course is really dilapidated - wrinkled turf, loose bricks, concrete falling off the rebar at the caves and dinosaurs that are missing chunks. But, my nephews don't seem to mind and one of them even pointed out one of stegosaurus' bony plates being in the bushes. Funny. The draw for Jurassic Putt for me is that during the day we you can play both 18 hole courses for $10 total. Five dollars for 18 holes of golf is a great deal. There is a little bit of shade at this course but mostly inside a few caves and in the shade of a few trees. This course is cash only but they do have an ATM.

This little park was not something that I expected to see in this area but when you think about it,…read morethe idea is very smart and really serves a purpose for both tourists and locals. The below page from AB's website shows that this place is only two years old and that its $1.6 million dollar cost was done as a public/private partnership. I've been to many beaches up & down the east coast and I honestly can't think of an area that has something quite like this. atlanticbeach-nc.com/departments/parks-recreation/ ABTP offers the following: Free live music on Thursday nights from mid-June thru August. Free family friendly movies (with the exception of them showing Jaws last month which was an interesting choice with the shark attack that happened in June at Fort Macon) on Wednesday nights June thru August. Skate Park Splashpad Playground/swingset Basketball Court Minigolf for $5 per person and it's free for ages 6 and under The main building which sells snacks & concessions and has restrooms along with free Wifi. The concession area and the golf are open 10-10 daily and it goes without saying that they are closed along with things like the splashpad seasonally. Compared with beaches in New Jersey or Maryland, Atlantic Beach is very understated in the amenities that it offers but I don't think that is necessarily a detriment. If you want all the bells and whistles it's not that much further to go to Myrtle or head north to KDH or OCMD and you'll find what you're looking for. But if you want quiet and relaxed with a very nice small town "homey" feeling then this is the spot you want. A+

I dropped them off in the sand and headed for the sweet concrete love of a Team Pain park. Ledges, gaps, stairs, and goodies for skaters of all skill levels. I'd definitely come back. If the fam won't skate next time, there's a putt putt course just feet away. It's also right around the corner from Finch's Skate Shop, which I was lucky enough to find while we're here. Kudos to the good folks of Atlantic Beach for giving locals and tourists a solid skate spot.
