I can't believe I always skipped over this place until recently. I finally tried it and it's delicious! The long line was justified. The mermaid slushie was refreshing and didn't just taste like sugary syrup. The Williamsburg blend is white cheddar popcorn and caramel popcorn. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the two flavors combine. The flavoring is strong yet not overwhelming because the white cheddar doesn't rub off on the caramel and vice versa even while being in the same container. I would take away one star, but the Kettle Korn here is too amazingly fresh and oh so good to be petty. The only side eye, the store is closed on Sunday! And Sunday seems like the main day I travel to Williamsburg. Nevertheless, on any given day except Sunday be prepared for this yummy treat. I cannot speak on anything else because all I have eaten from here is the Kettle Korn. Once you place your order you can either request to have the bag wide open (bag tie provided) or have it already sealed. Sealed... only if I am bringing a bag back home. But if you know about living, then you want this bag open... dig in! My last visit was last Saturday... we ordered hot chocolate, a slush and a bag of popcorn. The popcorn was shared with one adult (me) and two children. We walked around the Outlets for about 2 hours... the popcorn last that long... non stop eating... the popcorn is addictive so be mindful. Before you know it the bag will be filled with only crumbs. The ladies enjoyed the hot coco and my babe enjoyed his slushie. A slushie in 40 degree weather... sheeeesh! I witnessed another person ordering a slushie too - aye yi yi! Parking may be an issue if you are trying to park close by. Uncle Dave's is in a white trailer like you would find at the fair. However, this is a permanent location. The sell kettle corn by the bag in three sizes starting at $5. The also sell by the bucket too! If you make the mistake the first time it will not happen again. The bucket is best deal if taking home. Samples are always made available. They also sell drinks. It's been a long time since I visited Uncle Dave's and my daughter remembered it fondly and begged me to go. Well that did not take a lot of are twisting. The joint is usually ran by teens, much like tonight. A small bag was purchased to eat there. Nothing special about the service. Tables are just off to to the side that there customers use. The young lady at the counter was standing side ways and never asked if she could help me. I just looked on the board of the flavors and requested what I wanted. They offer the following flavors: Classic, Orange Cheddar, White Cheddar, Caramel, Bacon Cheddar, Old Bay, Cajun, and Cinnamon. Each popcorn kernels are popped to the maximum, each coated with this sweet caramel-like crunchiness, then topped with an additional flavor powder/seasoning of your choice. I got the bucket (you can't do combos with the small or the medium; only large and up) with 2 combos: Orange Cheddar and White Cheddar (because I LOVE cheese!). I actually liked how the seasoning was quite generous - it seems that the savory ones are quite savory/salty, and the sweet-flavored ones are really sweet (in addition to the sweetness of the kettle flavor). Who knew that some of the best kettle corn I ever had would be found at an unassuming stand in the middle of the Williamsburg Premium Outlets? I didn't, until today! I'm really surprised that I am the first to review Uncle Dave's, as literally every other person I saw walking around the mall had a bag of his made-from-scratch kettle corn. Located just in front of the Converse store, not only can you see their stand, but you can just smell the sweet and salty goodness that will lure you in. Being the popcorn lover I am, I just had to have some! Their flavor selections from what I remember are: -Classic Kettle -White Cheddar -Orange Cheddar -Old Bay I appreciated that they didn't have an overwhelming selection of flavors since that can sometimes take away from the quality of the basics! They had these flavor and did them well. I went with a small bag (which actually turned out to be much bigger than I expected) of the classic kettle corn, while my friend went with a small of the white cheddar (which only came in a small plastic container...I was a little confused!). Both were delicious!! The Old Bay flavor was a little offsetting for me, as the Old Bay was sprinkled onto actual kettle corn, not plain popcorn. This stuff is delish. We just tried this for the first time.They have sooo many flavors we tried the classic, caramel apple butter, blue raspberry and white cheddar. Everything was soo good. Do yourself a favor and make sure you buy the big buckets. You get 2$ off when you bring them back for a refill. I have to say my favorite is a toss up between classic and caramel apple butter they are just yum!! Update We went a couple times and they were closed when they were supposed to be open wasted time and gas. We live about a hour away. They told our sister to make sure to call before you go they close at random times depending on the owner. Went here on the weekend mid-day with my family, and the line was pretty long. It was well worth the wait. They give samples, and have alot of choices. All of the ones we tasted were good. They also have plain kettle corn if you don't want a seasoning on it. The seasoning on the popcorn is nice and thick, so every bite you will definitely taste it. They also have ice cream and drinks. I can't comment on the kettle korn, just the customer service. We stopped by for some refreshment and saw they had Slush Puppies, with three flavors listed clearly on the order window: watermelon, cherry, and blue raspberry. There was just one girl working there and I asked for a large watermelon Slush Puppy. She said, "we only have cherry and blue raspberry," as if I was stupid to even think they had watermelon. So I got cherry instead, and thanked her with a smile. She didn't smile or say anything. I went back a minute later to get some napkins for my kids, and she acted quite inconvenienced to have to get up and get me something (they didn't have napkins so she brought back paper towels). I mean, it wasn't horrible service, but I really hate going somewhere where I'm treated as though I'm a pain in someone's behind when I'm giving them business! This is the first time I have ever taken the time to post a review. Every time I'm in the Williamsburg area I would pick up a bucket of Uncle Dave's popcorn. It saddens me to tell you how I was treated as a loyal customer. My husband picked me up a bucket of my favorite popcorn but there was something wrong with the taste of the popcorn. (It had like a chalk taste to it or something) I called and expressed my concerns to see if they would swap out my bucket for another. I was told Dave was not available and they didn't have the authority to make that decision. (A bucket of popcorn, seriously!) keep in mind, I'm over an hour away and I was in route because I had to take my mother in-law home. So I figured I could give them the bad batch back and they would give me a new bucket. (It seemed like a easy fix) With no avail, I could not get this taken care of. Several days later I spoke with Dave. I was truly astonished at how little empathy he had for his customer who had seriously been inconvienced. Dave apologized and stated i was probably given the wrong bucket and it was probably the sample bucket. I could bring the popcorn back and they would replace it. I completely feel as though this was an empty apology. Not once did Dave say, I'm sorry we miss handled this situation. Can I ship the popcorn to you? This way you don't have to burn additional gas since we messed up. (Dave popcorn offers shipping popcorn to you as well) Dave's customer service skills SUCK! I preceded to let Dave know how much of an inconvienced this was to me. He felt like because he was switching out the popcorn he was giving me a free bucket of popcorn. (Dave, that's called an even exchange) I'm rating this company with such a low score because as a business owner you should care about your customer and the impact you caused them. I can spend my money with any business establishment but I choose to spend it with your company and you should act like you appreciate my business. My post is only in reference to their customer service. The popcorn is really good and I suggest you try their product.
