Eye doc was good. Assistant who did prescription for eyeglasses was terrible. She was sloppy, inconsistent, and rushed.

When my last optometrist dropped the insurance I carry, I was not looking forward to having to try…read moreto establish care somewhere else but this place made it seamless and easy. They take more insurance plans than most places in this area and their provide exceptional care It took a few weeks to get in but the exam and fittings are a well-oiled machine with the doctor doing all the testing and exam instead of a tech which was nice. Dr. Sykes is very personable and attentive. He was able to find the right type of contact lens for reading and distance so I don't have to wear my wear my readers on the top of my head anymore. My husband goes here as well and they were very patient with teaching him how to use contact lenses. I like that it's smaller and patient-focused-not like the huge doc in a box places. I'd definitely recommend if you're looking for a place for all your eye care needs.

Went back, did a bunch of tests, and was diagnosed w virtuous detachment. Told it would go away in a month. And to come back and get a new prescription. Went back. Still had it. Told to come back. Long story short I went back 4 times, paying $300 a visit, only to be told it wasn't done yet. Vision declining. Talked to a Duke eye dr friend. She told me to go see an ophthalmologist at Duke. He ran some tests. Said yes I have vitreous detachment, but the problem is that I have cataracts!! So basically I wasted a year, and lost about $1200. So either they are incompetent or corrupt.

I went in one Saturday to pick out my frames and returned one evening after work to place my order…read more The person helping me place the order was somewhat short and slightly had an attitude. She wasn't the friendliest person I've ever worked with. I was almost afraid to ask more questions because her tone seemed a bit condescending. I know it was close to the end of the day, but I had already picked out my frames and I'm not the type to keep employees past their closing time, but I brushed it off as being end of the day/tired/ready to go. When I went to pick up my frames it was a Saturday and they were extremely busy. I ended up going to shop around the store a bit while I waited for someone to become available. When I returned, the representative helped me tighten my glasses once, and I expressed concern about them looking/feeling crooked. She basically proceeded to tell me my eyebrows were crooked. I get it, not everything on my face is symmetrical, but I could tell my frames were crooked (I've worn glasses all my life, I've never had an issue getting them straight because of my eyebrows). She wasn't overly rude about it, but again...not really the most helpful. I left because clearly she wasn't trying to look further into my concerns. I now have glasses I am unhappy with. I will say, all three times I went in, there was a very pleasant and polite gentleman who was very personable. I wish I could have worked with him throughout my transactions. Everyone else seemed to want to get people out of there as quickly as possible. I don't necessarily blame the staff as they seemed understaffed and the shop was always very busy, but overall not the most pleasant or warmest customer service experience. When purchasing something like glasses that I will keep for a few years, I'd have hoped for a bit more welcoming experience. I would probably return back to a local shop instead of Target Optical where I feel my business is more valued.

Called over the phone Wednesday night to ask if they will be able to put high prescription lenses…read moreto Meta Ray Ban Wayferers, and the associate said that they should be able to, and told me to visit there so they could evaluate. The next day, I went there, in Southpoint Mall, the closest Lenscrafters from my home. I was the only customer at that timr. Young clerk there presented the only 2 available frames for the Meta Ray Ban Wayferers: Shiny Black & Matte Black - neither my preference but went ahead to ask for a price quote with my prescription. He asked me to sit down as he prepared the tablet where he entered my prescription and asked for my lens preference. Price quote turned out to be $500+, which I expected. Sadly, the system wouldn't let him confirm with my prescription. He tried on high index lens but still not letting him confirm. I read online that there was a website that was able to provide the same kind of glasses with slightly stronger prescription than mine, so I know that it's possible with the Wayfarers, but disappointingly, Lenscrafters was not able to craft the lenses I need for this particular glasses. Clerk was approachable but the lady manager didn't look friendly as she explained the limitations of Meta Ray Ban -Wayfarers. My visit felt like a complete waste of time.
