Stepping out from the stazione (Roma Terminal) and falling into your bed after a very long day of travel from America makes this hotel perfect on location. No worry about asking an Italian-speaking cabbie to take you. Staff speak English very well. Now, if you have never traveled outside of the US, let it be known that not all hotels are spacious, especially the lavatories. UNLESS, you ask or get an upgrade. In our case, we did check in the middle of the week, when room availabilites were quite abundant. Our Hospitality desk attendant graciously gave us an upgrade...king sized bed, robes, slippers, italian candies on your pillow every morning, extra spacious room, bathroom, and shower, mini-fridge and snacks.
If you are in desparate need of rest and sleep, you may choose another location than Una. Unfortunately, because the hotel is in the Termini neighborhood, you must realize that the Termini services the long-distance express trains as well as the local Metro train. The Metro train passes by the hotel- the tracks run alongside the hotel and it passes every 2-3 hours. Not only the trains but constant pedestrians, sometimes loud ones, strolling through the night.
We stayed on the 5th floor of this 7 floor building and the sound was still quite loud. So if you are a light sleeper, probably not a good spot for you. After sight-seeing all day, getting and staying asleep was not hard for us.
Complimentary breakfast was delicious with an array of offerings from cereal to deli meats and pastries. Waiststaff are friendly and helpful.
No free internet however. Must purchase daily or as a package deal.
Location to all the popular sights, such as Pantheon and Trevi Fountain, are all at least a 10-20 mins brisk walk. Vatican City and The Villa Borghese are reachable by taxi or if you feel adventerous, take the Metro. Only 2 lines, the blue line and the red line.
An overall pleasant and very comfortable hotel! read more
