    * The Kaisen Don was an amazing medley of the freshest seafood - the sweetness of the amaebi, the delicate saltiness of the masago, and everything in between complimented each other beautifully * The Kanpachi Chocolate was particular but tasty - the savory char, the slight bitterness from the Oaxacan chocolate, and Maldon salt on top all came together to deliver a delectable experience * Overall, a wonderful spot with friendly staff and a menu containing a wide variety of unique, delicious food

I stopped by this place by chance and ended up finding a real hidden gem! It's a little outside the main area, but I honestly think this restaurant has a lot of potential. Everything was great -- the quality of the food, the atmosphere, and the service. I especially recommend the mushroom cream pasta. It was absolutely delicious and definitely my favorite dish! They don't serve alcohol yet, but I was told it'll be available soon. I'm already looking forward to coming back and will definitely visit again!

One of the best Japanese / sushi spots in Chinatown! Free 1 hour parking underground with plenty of wide spots (and EV charging!). Staff were all so friendly and accommodating. I ordered the Umi Roll which comes with 6 rolls stacked full on uni, scallop, ikura, tuna, etc. Truly the best roll I've ever had and definitely a must order. The K-Pork was also amazing and cooked to perfection. It had the perfect amount of breading with extremely tender pork. Also highly recommend ordering. If rolls and pork aren't what you're feeling, you can't go wrong with the Kaisen-Don! The bowl is FILLED with uni, scallop, tuna, ikura, sweet shrimp, and more. It was all so fresh and they're not cheap with the amount of fish and seafood they give you. The Kaisen don also comes with a side of seaweed and a bed of rice. Lastly, if you're a huge tempura fan, I highly recommend the Anago Ippon Tendon. Everything was fried perfectly and full of flavor. Can't wait to come back again!

Umitosora is from the same owners that opened up Sonmari and Temaki Society, and they've done it again! Everything we ate was so incredible. The umi roll is so good and it has premium cuts of fish on each roll. The k pork is marinated and sweet, the Kaisen don is so good and it's packed with premium fish. And the Anago Ippon Tendon is bartered in fresh tempura. Service is fantastic and the food comes out quick! They also validate parking in the lot.

Umi roll You can enjoy tuna rolls with various flavors, each topped with sweet shrimp, sea urchin, scallops, tamago, ankimo, and generous amounts of roe. Every bite offers a different burst of freshness, with the roe popping in your mouth--absolutely delicious! Honeymoon Oyster The oyster shell-shaped plate is absolutely stunning, filled with roe and sea urchin on top of the oysters--how could that first bite not be deliciously sweet? Asari Sakamushi This pot of Claim soup is incredibly delicious, with each piece of claim plump and satisfying, complemented by refreshing mo taro noodles! Miso mushroom cream duon It's so delicious right when it hits the table--each udon noodle is generously coated with a rich, creamy sauce, and the texture is perfectly chewy and satisfying. They also include plenty of mushrooms, highly recommended! Anago Ippo Tendon The eel tempura was so delicious that I couldn't even speak after the first bite--crispy, fragrant, and perfectly paired with a well-balanced sauce, it's hard not to love! Besides eel, they also serve shrimp and scallop tempura, along with a variety of fried vegetables--truly a thoughtful bowl. I also ordered the seared salmon sushi, which is available at both locations. The lightly grilled salmon topped with aromatic chili oil is my absolute favorite! The new location now offers more rolls and donburi options. The ambiance is great, prices are reasonable, and there are outdoor seating areas where you can bring your dog. This will definitely become one of my go-to spots. There's parking available, and the shop is right next to Buffalo Wings.

My visit was late, close to closing, not to mention I was on a tight schedule. We had Kaisen Don and Bara Chirashi. This place was an IG referral. I didn't look at the menu so I didn't see the prices. Kaiser Don, 65 and Bara Chirashi, 59. Whoa! We still went for it. Absolutely no regrets. The quality and portion was worth it.

Umi Roll was tasty and flavorful. Calamari was nice too. Anago Ippon Tendon was ok. The dish took a bit longer than I expected and sauce was poured inconsistently. I'd rather have sauce on the side. Service and ambience were good. Hopefully, I have a chance to try other dishes.

Umitosora just opened, and we're already planning our next visit! Everything was so fresh, and the plates and plating were beautiful. The appetizers did not miss! The K Pork was my favoriteeeee. Seriously, get it. I've never had anything like it, and I'm still thinking about it. The elote fritter somehow tasted like a real elote in fritter form, and the Umi Roll, with its jammy egg, was an incredible creation, absolutely fire, and packed with all the good stuff. Winston took great care of us and was super attentive. He has such a bright, welcoming personality and made the whole experience even better. Come hungry!!!

Friendly quick service, beautiful and clean on the inside of the store. Lemon salmon - tasty fresh salmon, didnt taste the lemon much though Kanbapi chocolate - good quality fish with smoked chocolate, didnt taste the chocolate much but the smoky taste on the fish was amazing Sweet shrimp - tasty shrimp that wasnt fully cooked so it had a fun texture Amaebi - great texture, and the green onion/garlic flavor profile paired well! Mushroom udon - rich taste with the sauce and mushrooms, udon noodles were perfect Garlic edamame - couldnt stop eating! Elote fritters - addicting eat for sure. Easy to eat and fried perfectly Spicy tuna crispy rice - rice was freshly fried and the chili pepper/sauce/spicy tuna made this soooo yummy Tokyo roll - very delicious, but had this at the end after ALL of the previously amazing flavors we had beforehand, so it didnt pop out but I think if it was a roll kinda night, this is a must Yuzu sorbet - SO REFRESHING! Like wow. Light, citrusy Overall will be hard to order beyond what we had today because it was all so tasty, but the menu had a LOT of good-looking options, so im looking forward to trying more

A new neighborhood sushi spot just entered the "villa"--and after one visit, we already know we'll be back. We stopped in on day three of the soft opening and were impressed from the first bite: quality fish, thoughtful presentation, friendly service, and prices that make ordering "just one more dish" very easy. The space has an industrial-modern aesthetic, but somehow manages to feel warm and inviting. There's actually a little bit of RA Sushi energy happening here (IYKYK)--which I mean as a compliment. All they're missing is the garlic edamame, sake, and loud music! The staff was attentive and welcoming, and you can tell the sushi chefs clearly know their craft--OGs to the game for sure. Every piece was precise, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. The Scallop, Seared Salmon, and especially the Albacore Belly were the standouts. The scallop and salmon were creamy, delicate, and refreshing, while the albacore belly was rich, buttery, and incredibly fresh. Easily my favorite bite of the meal. We also had to try the Mackerel, which happens to be my boyfriend's favorite. He was genuinely delighted to see it on the menu, and it absolutely delivered. The Kanpachi Chocolate was another surprise: creamy with a subtle char and an unexpected flavor combination that somehow worked perfectly. For rolls, we tried the Spicy Tuna Roll and Spicy Shrimp Scallop Roll. The Spicy Tuna Roll was excellent--great texture, quality ingredients, and topped with crispy onion for that addicting & irresistible crunch. No notes. For the Spicy Shrimp Scallop Roll the spicy shrimp and scallop topping was flavorful and well executed, while the cucumber roll underneath was crisp and refreshing. I personally just wanted one more element to bring the two together--maybe a little extra crispy onion for more texture or a light drizzle of eel sauce for a touch of sweetness. Just a personal preference, as both components were delicious on their own. From the lunch menu: the Curry Pork Katsu Don--crispy, juicy pork katsu with curry rice and pickled ginger. Chef's kiss. We were also very thankful for the complimentary seaweed salad--such a thoughtful gesture, beautifully prepared, refreshing, and a lovely little extra touch during our visit. It was genuinely appreciated! Only three days into the soft opening and already showing so much promise. We're lucky to have this spot nearby, and between the welcoming atmosphere, talented sushi chefs, and quality food, this place will be a regular in our rotation. I was tempted to gatekeep this one, but honestly, food this good deserves to be shared. どうもありがとうございます

    Katsu Don

Happy a new restaurant opened near my apartment complex, and tested this spot out soon after its grand opening. I'll admit, the prices are steep - point blank, but overall the food is solid. Calamari is good, sashimi is fresh, the katsu is balanced, but the star of our meal was easily the elote fritters. I'd come back just for an order of these any time. The service was great, and the ambiance inside the restaurant is cute too. Again, the price point of this place to me doesn't quite feel justified for what you're getting, though there are several cheaper sushi roll options and lunch menu has some good deals. Either way, I plan to be back to try more dishes soon!

    Umi roll

Just found a gem: The ingredients are impeccably fresh, and you can tell the chef puts real heart into every dish. It's also great value for the quality. I hope more people discover this spot, where the care for the food really shows. Highly recommended for anyone who loves Japanese food! What I have ordered: Umi Roll: Generous portions, and the combination is perfect. Inside: soy-marinated egg yolk, shiso, tamagoyaki, and cucumber. On top: salmon roe, sea urchin, tuna, scallop, and fish maw. Everything tasted fresh, and the fish maw was a pleasant surprise. It had no fishiness at all, just a subtle sweet aftertaste. Sushi: The rice had the ideal texture, neither too soft nor too firm, and the fish was incredibly fresh. The scallop, sweet shrimp, and sea urchin each had a clean, natural sweetness. It comes with pickled plum slices on the side, and having one between pieces adds a lovely sweet, fruity note. A cozy little spot that feels warm and unpretentious. The space is small and intimate / bright and modern with warm lighting / wood accents / minimalist Japanese-inspired decor that makes it easy to settle in. It's relaxed enough for a casual dinner, but the food and attention to detail make it feel special. Service was really friendly and attentive, and the quiet, welcoming atmosphere let us enjoy our meal without any rush. It would work well for a date night or a small dinner with friends.

I've had this type of plate elsewhere and don't get me wrong, they were good too, this one was definitely on top. The spicy tuna was fresh, the rice was crispy, soft, crunch wasn't over hard and it was cooked perfectly. Miso butter ramen - tastes exactly like the name. Great aroma, buttery and miso taste. Not overpowering and spice level was on "3". If you like spice without sacrificing the taste, 3 is perfect. Kimchee ramen - I really enjoyed this one. I opted for the kimchee on the side as I was told it could be very strong inside the broth once it settles in. It was the perfect blend. Side of crispy kimchee with the umami flavor of the broth paired so well I was surprised. Probably my favorite. Baked salmon roll - this, was another show stopper! Perfectly rolled, chefs did an outstanding job with presentation and the flavor, yet again was perfection, Overall, will come back for the ramen and rolls. Seating inside is very limited and consists entirely of bar seating, so don't expect to come here with a large group. The staff was very attentive and did a great job making sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. One small detail I really appreciated was the restroom. They have two types of hand soap: scented and unscented. The unscented soap is meant for when you're going back to continue eating, while the scented soap is for after you've finished your meal. It's such a small touch, but it really adds to the overall experience and shows how much thought they put into the details. For the food, we got the 6-hand-roll set, which ended up being plenty to fill us up. The rice was perfectly warm and had a slight seasoning to it, which helped bring everything together with the flavors of the fish and seafood. The hand rolls were fresh and satisfying without feeling overly heavy. Price-wise, I think it's fair for the quality you're getting. Overall, Kazunori is a solid spot for hand rolls if you're in the area or just craving some good sushi!

Street parking is also available, but it can be difficult to find and may require a bit of a walk. * We were a party of two. My partner ordered three ankimo hand rolls because she loves ankimo, and I ordered the six-roll set. * The rice in my first two rolls was a little too hot, possibly because it had just been prepared. From the third roll onward, the temperature was fine. * After my partner had the second ankimo roll, we both felt that there was too much sauce and that it was overpowering the ankimo. We had just visited the Pasadena location the week before, where the flavor was much more balanced, so the difference was noticeable to us. * We asked the server if they could use a little less sauce on the next ankimo roll, but we were told that everything was standardized and could not be changed. * We tried to clarify that we were not asking them to change the ankimo recipe or any pre-made seasoning. We were simply asking for a little less of the sauce that the chef squeezes on while assembling the hand roll. However, we were given the same answer again that it was standardized and could not be adjusted. * At that point, we stopped asking and just accepted it as it was. Interestingly, the last ankimo roll actually tasted just right, which made us think the chef may have understood what we were asking for even though there seemed to be some miscommunication with the server. Overall, the food itself was not the main issue. We've visited this location many times and have generally had good experiences. This visit was disappointing mainly because a very simple request turned into a communication issue that we felt could have been handled more easily.

Overall the ramen isn't bad, chashu is nice and fatty and tender. Ramen is rich and filling. It's nice that it already comes with an egg too and you don't have to add another one. Lots of other side dishes and combos too if someone in your party doesn't want ramen. However, with the increases in prices, the fact that there's many other options in LT, and the fact that there are other Daikokuya locations, it's an alright LT option.

One of my favorite non-sushi dishes are the skewers, the miso sea bass in particular. It's so delicate, savory and so buttery. I also loved the new take on the spicy tuna crispy rice by serving thin slices of tuna on a wonton chip. The silverlake roll was just alright and I'd probably not order it again because there's so many more outstanding dishes worth my stomach space.

Reminded me of dimsum shrimp balls. - Bara Chirashi - LOVED the different textures and flavor profiles of the various components of this dish. Esp the Shiso flowers (tartness) - Miso Soup - Premium Sashimi (scallop, Otoro, salmon): salmon was my favorite! otoro was oh-so-fatty melt in your mouth - Premium Sushi (Golden eye snapper, ebi uni, and I forgot the other): Golden eye snapper was my FAVE! - Miso black cod: sweet, savory, buttery, also melt in your mouth. tasty! - Yuzu Sorbet: refreshing - Birthday matcha ice cream and basque cake.: cake was yummyy - Roku Rose was alright Overall, glad I got to try the DineLA tho the pricepoint def does reflect the higher quality of ingredients. I'd potentially come back for special occasions. Service was friendly, but it felt a little disorganized tbh. Felt like we had to flag people down for drink orders. Also felt rushed through our courses. Wish they waited for all of us to finish before collecting our plates. Easily found free street parking around the corner so don't have to do valet
