    GYOZA (8 PIECES)

Comforting food! Had the salmon chazuke, which had a mild and light flavor to my taste, the yakisoba and the beef don, which were both flavorful and the beef was surprisingly soft too. Gyoza was good and you can do half and half which was nice. I preferred the vegetable ones a bit more but both had nice flavor and the dough had good texture. I'd say the prices were fair too.

Cabbage salad - dressing is mayo heavy, but sesame flavored. Could useore sesame flavor, really. This salad is big. Enough to share for sure, even for several people, or to eat alone as your meal. It's not a small side salad. Good deal for the price. Chicken Karaage - also a huge portion. Same sauce as the salad dressing served on the side. Served piping hot, so very freshly fried. Very juicy with good tasting breading. Would definitely order this again. Unagi don - big pieces of nicely cooked soft unagi. Well cooked rice. Nice reel sauce. Served in a traditional box. Expensive, but they do this well. Tonkatsu ramen - not my favorite chashu. The pork broth was nice, the noodles had some density to them, which was nice. These aren't the super thin kind. All kinda of toppings you can add. Service was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. There gave great recommendations and we're really kind throughout. Out food was served as it was prepared, and came out very fresh. This place is small indeed with only a handful of tables and some bar seating by the windows. Lots of to-go business. We were here at 10pm on a Friday night and seated immediately. Music is soft background, classic rock on the day we came. It's overall pretty chill in here - nicely quiet. Good AC and nice soft yellow lighting that it's still easy to see by. They do NOT have a restroom, even for customers, and they are careful to tell you this beforehand. Plan accordingly.

We did street parking with paid meter. The inside is small with minimal seating. The food took a long time to arrive, but I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen. The ramen was okay to me...the noodles were a bit hard and the broth was a bit salty. Overall, it was okay, not the best ramen in my opinion, but maybe I'll try something else next time. We stopped by here really quick after a detour off of union station. Walkable but still 10+ min. Pretty small place but they have a nice atmosphere, staff were nice. Lots of options. We could've gone with a curry one but they said the are known for the tonkotsu so we went with that for a quick soup noodle. Broth is on the lighter side in my opinion, which could be good or bad. I thought it wasn't bad but nothing too special or stands out. The takoyaki was however very good.

Everything at Suehiro Mini is delish!!! From the ramen to the udon and rice dishes nothing disappoints as it's all so fresh and flavorful!!! I personally am obsessed with their ramen and chasu don. Their protein is high quality and the portions are generous. The chasu is so meaty and fatty definitely the best chasu I've had anywhere. As for dessert I always get their black sesame Mont Blanc. The contrast in textures and the fresh berries make the cake so good. I know I'll be a loyal customer to Suehiro Mini for years to come!!!!

This is one of the few places that stays open late but just a note that there is no restroom access at the moment. I always ask the wait staff what is the most popular dish on the menu and at this place it was the Tonkotsu ramen bowl. We received our food in less than ten minutes and it was so tasty and very filling. The waitress was very nice and she kept filling up our glass of water.

Good traditional japanese food, friendly service, cute location. Negative is $5 to park in the shopping center they are in. Will get to go from now on.

Nothing can compare to the Little Tokyo location that is no more. DTLA Suehiro is nice but a very different, elevated experience. Suehiro Mini has a homey feel and lower prices plus the lunch specials that more resembles our lost restaurant. There are very few seats/tables. Many of the orders are pick-up or to-go. I went late at night and was able to be seated. It's a great spot for comfort dishes if you're passing through or in the area. I was glad to get the Hayashi Rice. The flavor is spot on!

We came here on a random Wednesday night. Our regular spot at Olvera Street closed early. An easy walk from Olvera street it took us 6 minutes to get here. Arrived to an empty restaurant. Dining area is clean with a tv screen showing scenes from Tokyo. Staff was busy unpacking boxes so we asked if we were able to dine in. Staff could have been friendlier. Katsu curry was good. Nothing spectacular or different from any other Japanese restaurant. Tonkatsu was very good with all the toppings but only had 2 slices of pork. We would probably come back if we're in the area.

Cute Japanese restaurant in Chinatown. Went to Chinatown for Chinese food, but most restaurants were closed. Just remembered this Mini Suehiro was available. Quite often order Chicken Teri Don to go. Comes with Miso soup. Great lunch or dinner. Just call it in and pick it up. Oh, maybe your favorite delivery company can handle pick up for you. Doordash or Uber Eats. Oyako Don ( Chicken with Egg) is another rice dish that gets ordered also. That Miso soup just healed chase the food down. Great option in Chinatown for Japanese cuisine. Cha Shu Ramen is a good choice as well. Pretty filling and flavorful.

    SALMON CHAZUKE

I've never had/knew what chazuke is until I had it here and it did not disappoint! I loved the whole experience of it and the taste was great! The place is fairly small so I'd keep that in mind if I'm coming with a group. I love that this place is open pretty late so it's a great late night eats spot to hit up with some friends.

    VEGAN TOMATO RAMEN

4/5 stars (Vegetarian here for a plant-based/vegan review): We visited Suehiro Mini in Chinatown after the Chinatown Neighborhood Night Market hosted by CCEDLA in October, but I'm posting this review after learning that Suehiro's Little Tokyo location is facing eviction. Suehiro is a small family run restaurant chain with two generations of history, and the location in Chinatown has a smaller menu and storefront than its other locations. We were seated around 10:30 pm and the store wasn't too busy but it took us around 20 minutes to get our orders in and another 20 for the food to come out. Service is on the slower side so if you're on a time crunch definitely factor that in! There are four vegan options: vegan tomato ramen, vegan mapo don, vegan vegetable udon, and vegan yakisoba. I ordered the vegan tomato ramen. The broth was super thick and flavorful, and topped with fried and battered zucchini, tomato, and eggplants. While the portion sizes are quite large, the broth had a bit of a one note flavor and wasn't able to continue eating after I got through half. They have to-go containers so I was able to bring home the rest and it served as another meal. My friends ordered a Haiyashi Rice and Curry Rice and both really enjoyed their meal too. Their portions seemed even bigger, so if you have a small appetite I recommend sharing! Though service wasn't the quickest, we still enjoyed our meal, and I would love to return to try the other vegan options. If you're in the Chinatown area, try this ramen spot (as well as other small legacy businesses who are being pushed out by wealthier corporations that are actively working on gentrifying Chinatown).

Is Suehiro "Mini" closing also or just the Little Tokyo restaurant?

When I last visited i heard that there is going to be sushi soon, so I was wondering if there is sushi now?

We are now serving sushi rolls. California, salmon skin, spicy tuna, cucumber, tempura, avocado, unagi and vegetable rolls.

Do they have gluten-free noodles and broths?

Sorry, we don’t. The only options for our noodles and soup is our vegan friendly ramen.

I remember going here during their grand opening ages ago, did their, back then, super cheap deal with unlimited noodle refill (even further discounted due to the special event day) and eating to the point of barely being able to sit up in the car without throwing up. I have a picture of my brother eating here in middle school with us and then later on in his early 20's. Crazy time lapse, and truly shows what a favorite this place is and it's place in the community. As with all businesses in Little Tokyo, parking can suck (not as bad as K-town, but you're either paying or super circling around). Service is super efficient, welcoming and polite, as with their other locations as well. It's not the biggest restaurant, but none of the Shinsengumis I've been to have been particularly large. With this location, from my first visit, and all the subsequent visits, I always get their Hakata ramen, firmer noodles, since the longer I eat and enjoy the food, they'll soften a bit, less soup oil and less saltiness. I get all of the toppings that it comes with and I always add in a poached egg. Love the strong pork flavor since they stew their broth for so long and the tenderness of the chashu (sometimes I order more). Prices have definitely gone up and a slightly altered upgraded version of this ramen is almost $30 if you're not careful enough. Times have changed but how good this place hasn't. There's more ramen options now than there were like 10 years ago, but Shinsengumi is always a classic.

We ordered a chicken karaage to start and it wasn't bad, nothing to write home about though. Since the pieces were large, it was slightly awkward to eat without any plates, and I was just catching the crumbs with my hand (didn't have the ramens at the time). Also got a yuzu beer to try and it was delicious, nice yuzu flavor with some tanginess. I had the shoyu with duck while my husband had the yama tonkotsu that came with fragrant black garlic oil. The tonkotsu is not one of those rich, milky, creamy ones and I personally like these lighter ones more. I also enjoyed the shoyu which had a pleasant depth of flavor, but it felt like it was relying too heavily on MSG for umami. Noodles came out chewy. Definitely not the best ramens I've had but are some of the better ones in LA. Our server was friendly, as were the rest of the staff. Service was quick. The restaurant decor feels straight out of Japan, an extra bit of fun. There's a $10 paid lot behind this block of buildings that's convenient for anything in this part of Little Tokyo.
