Miso Soup, Snow Crab Roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll. Sides of Unagi (Eel) sauce and spicy mayo.

The service was 10/10, cleanliness was also 10/10. I got the lunch special and I have to say I wasn't disappointed. The food tasted fresh and filled me up. I have absolutely no complaints!!

This is the best ramen and sushi place in Angleton. So far, everything I have tried is superb. The sushi is fantastic. The ramen is on point. Truthfully, service can be a bit off, but nothing that you can't deal with. Everything seems really fresh. They even have toro (fatty tuna) every now and again, which is delicious and expensive, but some how affordable here. I work in Angleton and come here about once a week. Give it a go if you are in towns

The food was okay. We came in on a Wednesday night and it was pretty empty. We sat down and shared this plate. Their server let me know that the salmon had just got gotten there that day, but the shrimp had been there for a few days. Th salmon was pretty dry and the shrimp was a little chewy. It wasn't horrible, if you like overcooked seafood but I wouldn't go back. Or, if you go, I recommend sticking with a general sushi roll. Our bill took forever to get as the manager is the only one that seemed to know how to work everything (place to go orders, ring up cards, etc).

Saw this place and pulled in on a hungry whim. NO REGRETS!! Umi did not disappoint. I had a Kirin, Large House Saki, Seaweed Salad, and 3 specialty rolls....check was $60!! EPIC pricing for good quality sushi/Japanese fare. Check my pictures. Very impressed with the Seaweed salad (so often at small places like this it's slimy and not fresh, but NOT HERE!), and I also love when the Seaweed salad is laid over a bed of shredded cucumber. The rolls were great and I couldn't believe the expanse of their sushi roll menu...if only my stomach had more capacity! Great service and friendly staff. From the hostess, to my server, and even the sushi chef, everyone was all-smiles, polite and communicative. I felt like I wasn't in Angleton, TX to be honest. Having just returned from Northern California, stepping into this space out right back into the sushi restaurants I visited out there! The space has a great feel and atmosphere which I attest to the energy put off by the lovely staff! Go here! You won't be disappointed.

Vegan sushi coming in for the freaking win once again! Umi Sushi has excellent plant-based options! Great local joint for the city of Angleton! We had: -avocado roll -avocado & cucumber rolls -white rice -stir fry tofu Most plates can have tofu substituted for the protein. Just make sure to ask for no egg. All so delicious, and I would get them again! COVID Notes -Indoor seating available -Social distance & masks required. -Customer service was delightful, safe, and helpful -Ordering was effortless & smooth -No issues at all. Can't wait to go back! Thank you, Umi Sushi, for all of the Vegan Options!

Umi Sushi is one of our favorite places to eat and Angleton consistently good sushi the three roll combo is a good deal. The staff are very nice and there's a clean pleasant environment. I took some pictures of the menu so there would be a good copy for people to order by phone before coming in for carry out

Excellent place (surprisingly in Angleton). We had milk tea with boba (Thai tea is highly recommended). The hibachi lunch is superb. Comes with soup.

I love Umi Sushi... I need to quit spending all my money there! I love the hibachi. And the sushi is grade A. I'm all about the specials they have here. I hesitated writing a review, because I'm sitting here thinking of all my friends that'll see this and know how obsessed I am with this place. But I dig it. The waitresses are always nice and take care of us. Service is always fast. I love this place. Oh...Try the ice cream! I forgot the name of it... but it's like this dough wrapped ice cream that's delicious.

Very happy to have such a quality sushi location In Angleton! Service attentive, though sometimes rolls can be a little slow to the table. But when you get presentation like this, it is understandable! Some new menu options recently and the sometimes seasonal sweet shrimp are a favorite (eat the head)!

I'm proud that they have servers of this caliber at Asian restaurants in Houston, TX. Usually you see professional servers at upscale restaurants. There was a busboy there towards the end, and even he was super professional. Whoever the manager is at this location, you guys are doing an outstanding job training the staff here. Keep up the good work! 2. Price - about $15/bowl. 3. Ambiance - The decor here is beautiful. There are natural lighting from the front, with wood panels everywhere, lanterns hung high. They did a nice job decorating the place and you definitely feel as if you're in Japan somewhere. 4. Food - This is where this place shines compare to all the ramen places in Houston. They have the option of low sodium broth. I took one sip, and it felt like home cooked Ramen. I'm not talking about instant ramen that you buy from the store, but the ramen made from scratch. I often go to ramen places in Houston and I dread going because I know how salty they taste. There are 2 other locations I have in mind in Houston that are also my favorites. But I would say this is not bad compared to the bowl of ramen I had in Narita, Japan. If you're wondering what I've ordered, it was the CHICKEN RICH RAMEN and make sure to request for low sodium. 5. Cleanliness - Dining area is well kept, clean, and the busboy is on top of things. The restroom is questionable. The personal restroom doors are hard to close and lock. For management, have a look at the restrooms and see if you can improve things. SUMMARY: I would definitely come back. It is just THAT GOOD!

Whenever we walked in for dinner around half the tables were full of people and service was still very fast. The interior of the restaurant is nice but nothing too standout from other Chinese restaurants. We got cream cheese puffs, house spicy wide noodle soup, a chicken dish, soup dumplings, cream baos , and a fish dish, and all of it was fairly good. My least favorite was the cheese puffs, which were incredibly hot but I didn't find much very special about either the filling nor the crunchy wrapper. My next critique is their handmade noodles. It is personal preference, but I prefer my noodles to be a lot more chewy and on the more al dente side of things, rather than the more soft noodles we got (both the wide and the original noodles). As for what I liked, it was just about everything else we got. The house noodle soup was nice and comforting, not being super heavy but still carrying good flavor (I would ask for the regular version and add in spice after tasting the broth). Both the fish and chicken dishes that we got were very interesting and I especially enjoyed the lightness of the fish dish. The soup dumplings we got were very flavorful, well balanced, and had a very bouncy yet soft wrapper texture. The cream baos, though admittedly lacking some vanilla and texture consistency across each bao, were still really good and comparable to ones you'd find in Bellaire. Overall, my experience was fairly good and I would go here again if I find myself in the Pearland area.

I feel like it leans a bit too much on the chili oil taste and struggles to stand on its own as a dish. I enjoyed the cucumber here, since it helps balance the overwhelming flavor, but I do wish there was more and it was cut into thinner pieces. Thai Style Chicken - 5/5 - Always has been my favorite dish here. The chicken is flavorful but not overwhelming. The lettuce helps balance the dish. The peppers add a strong kick if you're feeling spicy. The sauce is perfectly salty whilst not powering over the other elements. No complaints. Birria Ramen - 4.5/5 - Definitely not the choice if you want ramen, and thankfully I was not really craving ramen on this visit. For the standards of this dish, this is a perfectly good example of this dish. The broth is rich and extremely, almost to a fault, flavorful. The Gyoza was typical and delicious. Mark couldn't stop gushing about the Spicy Miso Tonkotsu. In addition to the broth, the pork and egg were standouts. It was so good he had to pick up the bowl and ensure he got every drop. I was equally enamored with the Black Garlic Tonkotsu. The noodles were done to perfection. The broth was slightly thick and delicious. I agreed with Mark that the pork and egg offered explosions of flavor. We would definitely be regulars at Fuji Ramen if only we lived nearby. The staff were very nice and provided good recommendations. I ordered the frozen matcha smoothie with oat milk, donburi with tofu and pickled vegetables. The taste of the food was fresh, I wasn't a big fan of the texture of the tofu. That threw me for a loop. They used sushi rice for the base and the broccoli was okay, a bit bland for my liking. Their special sauce was very tasty. Need to bottle that up and sell it! The pickled veggies were crisp and with well with the rice. Slightly sweet then acidic. The matcha freeze was indeed creamy from the oat milk. They have vegan milk options: oat and almond. The matcha was sweet, but nothing over the top. Matcha boba was chewy and unheard of. Tantan Tsukemen - Very interesting broth. Potent, salty, and full of bold flavor. My friend swapped the pork for chicken, and the chicken worked really well with the broth. They serve the chicken as a cold cut. This is a double-noodle dish with a soy milk-based dipping sauce. I normally would have ordered this because I LOVE tantan ramen, but I had to forgo it for the limited-time Creamy Truffle Ramen. Creamy Truffle Ramen - LOVED the broth. It was very light and creamy. I actually liked this a lot more than tonkotsu ramen. The truffle wasn't too overwhelming--just mild enough to hint at its flavor without becoming the only flavor profile you get. Truffle is like baking with rose water; finding that balance is quite hard. I will admit the whole table smelled like truffles, though. The torched king oyster mushroom paired wonderfully with the dish, and the broccolini was an equally interesting topping choice. I also found bits of melted Parmesan throughout the ramen, which the menu listed as an ingredient. The egg wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was still a decent soy egg. As I kept eating, the truffle oil became more intense, and the fattiness started to get a bit overwhelming without washing it down with water. Great flavor overall, but I think this dish is best paired with an appetizer to help cut through the richness. One of my favorite things about this place, which my BF mentioned, was the noodle texture. I noticed it too as I ate--a good bite with a slick texture that was just starchy enough to cling to the broth. We had leftover noodles from the Tantan Tsukemen at the end of the meal and ended up using the Creamy Truffle broth as a dipping sauce. Honestly, no regrets. The cold noodles didn't work quite as well in this dish, but the broth was definitely a banger. This was also the first ramen broth I couldn't finish but desperately wanted to bring home. (Obviously, I did.) Their to-go containers are surprisingly sleek, too. It's a weird thing to compliment, but I almost wanted to keep the container as much as the broth. Special comment on the utensils here--the soup spoons are ridiculously cute! Would love to have a similar set at home. Overall, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the service was thoughtful. The music wasn't too loud, and it wasn't that crowded for a Saturday night. They do play a lot of popular Japanese songs, so if you're an international music enthusiast, you'll appreciate hearing "Mayonaka no Door" by Miki Matsubara.

Although my partner didn't show it and said it was fine, it was obvious she was disappointed that she didn't receive a Demon Slayer soup spoon from ordering the monthly special since they were out of stock (waiter says there is no guarantee the spoons will restock). The promotion is set to end sometime in February, but I might take another long break from Jinya, again. I got the tried and true Jinya tonkotsu black, which was served with chewy (yes, chewy) pieces of pork chashu. I also noticed the wife only ate her toppings from her chicken yatai ramen and offered to trade her since I was mostly happy with mine. Wow, the monthly special, chicken yatai was super bland. I voiced my complaints about the yatai that was barely eaten and that the chashu was not rendered enough. He said he would let the manager know, who offered a complimentary ice cream mochi (ok, these werent bad). Ambiance: casual, loud with my type of music (pops, edm). The hard truth: not a place I could recommend to friends at this moment. Glad the owner is doing so well in this area and would highly recommend sister restaurants, but there's a glaring need for quality control here and maybe a bit more accountability is needed. Looks like I have some old pictures still uploaded, so I'll just go ahead and leave them in the post, but just take my word that the tonkotsu black still looks the same and the chicken and takoyaki are indeed as pretty as they are scrumptious.

Finally dropped by to try the omurice and it was just as pretty as the videos! Fluffiness of the…read moreegg (5/5), fried rice itself (4/5). I chose the curry topping, and although it paired well with the pork and omurice, I found the complete bite lacking a bit of punch. So the dish itself was 4/5 for me. Maybe the sweet glaze would have helped bring the mouthful together - I'll try that next time! We also tried the purple yam fries (4/5) and they were nice and crispy. This place was pretty packed when we showed up on a Sunday evening around 7 pm. We ended up sitting at the bar, which had call buttons for service, ordering, check, etc. Overall service was good but the call button for the check didn't seem to work. Pressed it like 3 times in 10 min and no one seemed to get an alert so we just flagged someone down. The inside is pretty neat, with an upstairs and downstairs (as well as a bar area). They did a really good job maximizing their space. Definitely worth trying if you haven't had omurice before.

The ambiance is pretty cool with honey comb stacked seating along the wall. I would love to sit there one day. But only parties of two can sit there. 4. Food - I've ordered the KYUSHU SPICY TONKOTSU RAMEN. Sad to say, but my bowl of noodles was pretty salty. 5. Cleanliness - We sat in a room for 4 people. It was hot and stuffy, only to realize that the A/C vents (on the wall) were shut. So we've opened the vents, and finally a nice breeze, but only to find out why it was shut in the first place. Smells from the restrooms were coming out of the vent. We were all pretty disgusted at this point.

I began the meal with the delicious gyoza, followed shortly by the Miso Duck Phở. To accompany the meal, I appreciated a well-prepared cup of Jasmine tea with honey. The service was prompt and attentive. Arriving for an 8:00 PM dinner, I found the atmosphere pleasantly quiet and warmly lit, though the background music was unmemorable. I will certainly keep this establishment in mind for future dining.

Though the meat in there wasn't as tender as I would've liked it and the eggs were more of a hard boil than a soft boil, the actual flavor of the broth and the texture of the noodles were really good. I came in on a Wednesday night around an hour prior to closing time, so the waitress was fast in taking our orders, though at times I did feel rushed and felt like they just wanted us out of the restaurant (which is reasonable, but I still felt rushed to eat and pay). This restaurant is featured on the BAHFL card (a card meant to encourage users to try out restaurants and get discounts for their meals), but whenever I asked, she questioned what I was saying and I ended up just paying as is without the card discount. Other than what I previously mentioned, though, this place is still good and is definitely worth trying out, though just not during later hours.
