    Cold popcorn chicken
    Sam C.

From San Diego, made a detour because we were craving their popcorn chicken. We've had it before but was very disappointed. The popcorn chicken was cold. We were trying not to make a complaint but couldn't enjoy the 2nd bite of chicken. Popcorn chicken doesn't have to be piping hot but it wasn't even warm. It tasted like it was sitting out for hours. Then when I told the employee, I think they just put it in the microwave. It was hot but not crispy. Highly disappointed.

Service here is amazing & the drinks are good. It is near me and I once went two days in a row. Free parking in small lot. Near Trader Joe's, a ramen place, & other eateries.

I ordered milk tea plus boba, oat milk and less sweet. It was perfectly sweet to me, a great staple if you're looking for a go-to boba order. I also got popcorn chicken and tofu, which were delicious and crispy. Ordering for pickup is super fast and easy! A great option if you're in the area and need lunch or dinner in a pinch

The place is pretty cute. Boba-Ristas are very nice. They have the surprise plush keychain at the bottom of the drink. We went here for my daughter's bday week, coming from las vegas. When we got here they ran out of the cup with the plushies, my daughter was sad but everyone in the store made up for it!!! She get to pick the plushies on their display which was super nice or them. The place was clean very kawaii. Drinks were made good as well.

Always a good go to for the strong tea flavor and the amazing toppings. If you want too toppings; this is the place to get the. I love getting the boba and mochi combination even if it does reduce the amount of milk tea in it. Fantastic chain and it's always consistent among their stores. Also it's super pretty and pink as a bonus!

I used to live close by almost went there every weekend it's so good. Their boba is so soft. Nowadays still go once in a while. It's got busy always inside the store it's kind of tiny inside. Parking is packed. But it doesn't take more than 10 minutes. Last time placed the order online it's force me to tip, which isn't right.

Still mediocre AF. Their milk pudding boba is the ONLY type of good drink they have. I like the taro one. The rest all taste low quality or fake. I only bought from here because I didn't want to wait and DoorDash boba all the way from 3Cat in Koreatown. Most of the drink here are terrible, not crafted well and inconsistent in ingredients. I've never stepped inside the store but paid extra $5 for a surprise cup off DoorDash thinking I would get an extra large drink, but ended up with a giant paper cup that was hollow on the bottom. The amount of drink I got was equivalent to a large. Inside was a cheap looking ducky plushie keychain. Bad surprise. Please don't waste your money on this cup. I wanted more drink! I also ordered an avocado mango. It was so nasty because the avocado they used was bitter and not ripe and there was too much avocado versus mango.

We've been here a lot more than we'd like to admit but that just shows how good this boba tea shop is! Granted, it's one of the only ones near where we live. However, I'm not one to settle for mediocre bubble tea. Parking is in a plaza and we never really have trouble finding a spot at the times we've gone (which was usually in the afternoon or night time). The shop is definitely more of a grab and go place as there aren't really tables or chairs to sit down and enjoy your drink or snack. There's some seating inside, but I think it's really for customers to sit and wait for their order because it can get really busy. The store itself is actually really cute though with a lot of pink and fun colors so 11/10 for design and vibes! Drinks we've gotten: - White peach oolong milk tea (4.5/5 and one of my faves) - Oreo brulee milk tea (5/5) - Strawberry matcha milk tea w/ matcha ice cream (5/5 and also one of my faves) - Passion fruit green tea with crystal boba and lychee jelly (4/5) - Creme brulee milk tea (4/5) **If you upgrade your drink to a "surprise cup", there's a cute little plushy waiting for you! Our go to order is their strawberry matcha milk tea with a matcha ice cream scoop and a cookie crème brûlée milk tea! Food we've gotten: - Popcorn chicken (4.5/5, they make it with just the right amount of batter but could use some more crunch! we always get the ponzu sauce) - Fried tofu (4/5, satisfied some cravings - crunchy exterior and soft interior as intended) Overall, this is a solid spot if you wanted to satisfy a boba craving. As always... we'll be back soon, Ume Tea :)

My roommates and I order from here all the time on rough finals weeks and nights where we think we deserve a sweet treat (often..) They have a fabulous and unique selection of drinks and food which makes the extra drive out of UCLA/Sawtelle worth it - they have great and fresh popcorn chicken and takoyaki! I've never been disappointed by their food, it always hits the spot. Drinks wise, we've had the Mango (5/5) , The rice drink (I forget what it's called but it's my favorite) and Jasmine Milk Tea! All are wonderful but the rice drink is incredibly unique and the texture is kind of addicting to chew on. When we do go in person owners and service are so sweet! It's clean, drinks are a decent size; and they offer lots of plushies and toys.

Good little local Tea spot! My partner and I go here all the time! It's a close by spot and always hits to spot when we want some tea! There's not a ton of space inside if you wanna sit down, it's mostly just a grab and go spot, but they always get the job done quickly.

Stopped in this weekend for our first time because we both had our usual Boba craving and wanted to try someplace new. I am happy to say that Ume exceeded expectations and I already want to go back again to try more flavors. As with most Boba places they have a lot of great options on the menu and all different types of drinks. It was really hard to choose just one drink so I ended up choosing two. Parking is pretty easy in this area and pricing is fair. We decided to order via the kiosk and everything that we ordered was ready within 8 minutes. Inside is pretty small, there aren't any tables to eat in, but there are some tables to wait while your food is being prepared. It is definitely more of a to-go type of place. For my first time I wanted to try one of their classics and one of their newer drinks. I ordered the Crème Brûlée Boba and really loved it. It had the flavors that I expected and it was perfectly sweet. I also ordered a new drink which was the Strawberry Yogurt Slush with Crystal Boba. I will say that I prefer traditional or popping Boba more than crystal Boba, but still the liquid flavors in it were very good. I would just replace the crystal Boba if I were to order it again. I've also heard that their chicken is really good so next time I will try some of their savory items. I would definitely recommend to any fan of Boba.

We did a door dash order for Ume Tea late at night and this place did not disappoint! We ordered the Oolong Milk Tea Brown Sugar which was good but I think I'm just a coffee girly! We ordered the popcorn chicken regular and spicy and it was 10/10!!!! Best late night snack! The sweet and sour sauce is the best!! I can't wait to try the location again!'

Ume Tea is so adorable and kawaii! The service was great. They have an extensive menu with so many options like milk teas, fruit teas, yogurts, slushies, and matcha. My favorite was the tanghulu yogurt drink. Plus snacks like fried tofu and popcorn chicken! There is a small lot for parking.

When is the NoHo location opening?

Hey Peggy, we’re aiming to open our NoHo location at the end of January 2025! It’s just around the corner :)

Can you order any drink that isn't milk tea for the surprise cup when you order from the cashier? I ask only because my friend said you can order any drink for the surprise cup if you go to the cashier (and not kiosk) in the Bay Area.

Yes! I ordered a fruit tea in a surprise cup through the tablet but before that the cashier had offered to take my order as well.

How about parking ? Is it easy to find a spot! Thanks

Yes Parking is easy right in front of the store- BUT -U can also park right next door where the Wells Fargo lot is...........

Does it cost extra for the cup with plushies?

Yes, if you upgrade your cup to the "Surprise Cup" for $3.99!

Is the plushie only going to be around for a limited time only? Or is it going to be around for awhile?

Hey Christina, the Ume Surprise bunny cup which contains the plushie key chain will be around for a while! We're out of stock as for today (5/4/2023), but we'll have it in stock agin this Friday(5/5/2023). Take your time, no rush!

Do they have the cups with the secret plushie at the bottom?

Yes this location now carries it!

I saw on a tiktok that the Ume Tea in Milpitas, CA has a cup that comes with your drink and at the bottom of the cup has a plushie (mini stuffed animal), does your location also have that? If yes, how much?

They now have it available at this location

The place is in a great location because it's central to the shops and eateries of culver city. The server was a nice girl, she was pretty quick too even though she was working the front on her own. This is a good place to hangout and relax or spend the day working remotely. But not like a coffee shop that would be suitable for students because it might a bit noisy when theres a lot of people inside.
