This is my second time there. Honestly this place was dead when we arrived. We waited to be seated and nobody came to seat us. So we sat ourselves and I grabbed a menu. The guy that was at the bar looked at me and smiled and said "Thank you" as if he knew this happens a lot. After about 5 min wait our waitress came and offer drinks. I said two waters and she didn't reply with okay or sure or nothing like that. When we ordered our waitress had this bothered look on her face like "what did you want to order" type of look, her vibe was bad to! Shortly after ordering I asked if my fried rice would have chicken and she rudely replied "Well Thant what you ordered right!? I don't think this was the right way to respond. She should have simply said sure or no problem. The funny thing about this girl is that she was super nice to what seemed to be a "regular customer" next to us and greeting another lady that came into the restaurant. She never onces came and checked on us to see if everything was ok. I had to ask another waitress for a box and our check ... this girl just seen to have an issue with herself! I say If you don't like to deal with the public, do yourself a favor and work somewhere else! No tip for this girl, I normally tip well but she didn't deserve not even a dollar from me. Sorry, we didn't feel welcomed at all. However I would probably come back to eat here but take out only, my salmon was great, cooked perfect and fried rice was pretty good. Best sushi in town hands down. Very fresh tasting fish. Tip- if you prefer brown rice in your role or meal you can request it. I also like that they have some delicious rice less roles. read more

My girlfriend, two friends and I visited this place a couple weeks back and were not impressed. Or waitress, Zoe, with a surly demeanor, couldn't give us a recommendation on anything vegan (my girlfriend opts to eat that way for a health benefit, and often breaks it so it's not a huge deal) even though she appartanly "Sometimes likes to eat vegan" and told us "just to look at the menu and maybe we'll find something." Which, okay, they're new and maybe she doesn't know the menu well, but I imagine that she should have been versed on what's vegan or eaten something she could recommend. Our server disappeared and was only seen flirting with another server across the room. She never checked back on us after bringing our (okay) food. At one point all four of us had run out of soda/water and someone in our party eventually managed to wave someone down and get us refills. Our food was served to us over ten minutes, no plates coming at the same time. One of the soups was luke warm at best. And to top it all off, we found a hair. The hair, discovered towards the end of our meal, was found in my girlfriend's drink. It was long and black. This was when our waitress returned with the check. When we pointed out the hair, she said "Do you think it's probably from her?" about my girlfriend, who has BLONDE hair cut to just below her ears, not a foot long plus BLACK hair, as our server had. (Granted, it was tied back, so maybe the hair came from the kitchen) When we asked for a manager, we were told no one was available and we'd have to talk to our server about it. We waited around another twenty minutes before we resolved anything. Overall, the food wasn't bad, but the whole experience was HORRIBLE. read more

I've been here twice and have really enjoyed it! Definitely more expensive than the other sushi places in Lompoc, but I think they quality is better and the presentation is really nice! Love that they offer no rice rolls and brown rice rolls and lots of other options. The sushi rolls are very big and so many to choose from! Still want to try the Ramen and the Korean BBQ. I am glad to have another option in town. read more

Food was okay... Had the lunch combo which wasn't much of a combo you only get 1 choice.., you can opt for two for about $5 more but I'd rather have two smaller options... As the portion was large.. I went with the teriyaki chicken flavor was lacking... Miso soup was bad the tofu was flavorless.. Did give it 3 stars because the service was good! read more

In town for work, so decided I would get some sushi. From the reviews I read, I had high expectations. They easily met those expectations! Had the lunch special, the chef's choice sushi and teriyaki salmon. For less than $13, I was pleasantly surprised at the portion size! The sushi had 4 pieces - 2 salmon, 1 tuna, 1 albacore, and all tasted fresh. I will be back before I leave town! read more

I would give it 5 stars, but the staffing wasn't up to par yet (they don't know a lot about the menu, which wasn't helpful). The service was slightly slow but worth the wait! We had spicy Korean Ramen with dumplings, vegis and egg. It was excellent, and they have quite a few soups on their menu which is a big benefit to Lompoc. We also got the Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll for a very reasonable price (unlike Dong Hae which charges way to much for tuna now and their food isn't nearly as good as Umami Ya). We can't wait to go again to sample more good things on the extensive menu! read more

I'm usually very gracious, but this was an absolute horrible experience. When we were walking up, there was a guy outside smoking, who we later realized was our sushi chef! Eww! When we were seated we ordered our drinks and an appetizer of edomome, then a few minutes later another girl came over to take our order. I ordered the drunken dragon, my husband ordered the cabo san lucus, and we got an order of vegetable fried rice to share. The fried rice was hard and crunchy, (we couldn't finish it b/c we didn't want to hurt a tooth), then both of our rolls were so soggy that we couldn't pick them up without them completely falling apart. The rolls were disgusting(& we are really not picky people), and not to mention my husbands roll looked like someone vomited on it. We were half way through our meal and still hadn't recieved our appetizer of edomome, so we asked the waitress for them, and about ten minutes later the origional girl who seated us came out with the edomome and took it to a different table, then when they told her they didn't order it, she went and asked the other waitress and finally brought them to our table( how did she not know they were for us?! She origionaly took the order!), and did I mention the edomome were ice cold? We'll they were. At one point the waitress came to our table and refilled my husbands glass of water and then when I started to hand her my glass for a refill she walked away and we didn't see her again until she came out with our check. The whole time we were there, most of the staff were in the back not paying attention to te customers, and at one point all the sushi chefs and a customer who was sitting at the bar, all disapeared in the back for about 5 minutes, doing who knows what. My husband and I both got stomach aches after eating here... Ahhh! Our meal was $40, which was so overpriced for the unedible food that came in small portions. We will NEVER eat here again!!! This place is sketchy, save your time, money and stomachs and go to sushi Teri instead. read more

Hands down the best sushi place in Lompoc. I just left this place with a couple friends and the food was EXCELLENT! I cant emphasize it enough! We each ordered something and sampled from each others plates I had bulgogi over rice (DELICIOUS). My friends ordered sushi rolls and they were good too! Their menu has a lot to chose from which means your dining experience won't get boring. service was alright, prices are reasonable for a sushi place. Suggest the Captain Josh roll they made. Safe to say Dong Hae doesn't even compare!! read more

Overall, it's a decent place... for Lompoc. I've been here three times - Katsu-don was not how it's supposed to be made (no egg on top of donkatsu, and donkatsu sauce drizzled all over - it's basically donkatsu with rice under it), and chicken teriyaki was ok (no, you can't mess that one up). However, Vegetable Ramen... oh, boy, it was made straight from instant ramen! Anyone who's familiar with Shin Ramen would instantly recognize the noodle texture. You can make this at home for $1, and make it much better than this place by adding whatever you find in your fridge. Their $8 ramen had a few veggie pieces and "one" piece of sliced rice cake... I'm offended that a restaurant, one that calls itself "Japanese", thinks it is ok to disguise instant noodle on their menu for $8. Either they think the customers can't tell the difference, or they really don't know how to cook real ramen. So, if you go, stick with teriyaki... it's not that good, but good enough considering it's in Lompoc. read more

The owner is extremely rude, was arguing with a customer in the middle of my dinner not trying to calm the situation the sushi is okay if you are in town definitely recommend sushi Teri it is far better and the owner is very disrespectful to his staff. read more

There are a few of the severs who are not as friendly as the others but overall the device is pretty good. The food is excellent. You don't think of Lompoc as a sushi destination, but I have enjoyed all the rolls and sashimi I have tried. What stands out the most to my girlfriend and I is how amazing the ramen is here. If you like ramen, then definitely give this one a try. I also recommend the call 911 roll. read more

I have to be honest with this restaurant. Disappointed at the food and the service that my family received on our way to Pismo Beach. I order a bowl of beef Udong noodle soup, but it's no joking that I could hardly find any bits of beef for its price of over 9 dollars. The other bowl of stir-fired noodles is about half portion of the same dish that we had in other Sushi restaurants. Compared to the food in Pismo Beach and Morro Bay, the food offered by this restaurant is much below the average. read more

First visit a sevice was wonderful, everyone friendly d polite. Enjoyed relaxed atmosphere as I was hoping to find. Seaweed salad was very tasty but a bit too sweet for my preference. Same for the two rolls I tried. Either the rice flavoring needs tweaked or the chef prefers sweeter....I do not. my rolls had crab mayo filling but pretty much tasted only mayo/sweet. Again I think their recipes just need refining right now the taste reminds of a Mc Chicken from the"value" @ MickeyD's. Might give them another shot in a month or two. read more

I have tried this sushi place 4 times and the staff and food is great. They are so kind and greet you warmly.

I decided to try this place out after Sushi Teri started to go downhill a bit. I was not impressed. My waitress (The same Zoey another yep review mentioned?) was horrible, rude and took for ever to get our order. She also didn't check back on us at all between the time she brought the food and when she brought our check. She also touched one of our straws when getting a refill before the food arrived. NOT okay. The floor below our table was super dirty, but I don't expect that to be completely taken care of after every seating. Who knows, maybe there were a bunch of young kids seated there before us? We were a table of six, so the five minutes for us all to get our food wasn't a big deal. Also, with sushi so much of it is family style, so a few plates coming late isn't really a huge deal breaker. The food was decent and I felt the portions were a bit small, but not a total rip off like some places. The place was crowded. But the bottom line is you know if a place is crowded when you pick it. and popularity shouldn't be a reason for a markdown. Service should be, though. I can get Sushi a few places within a half hour drive, but don't want to deal with bad service. I wont be going back simply because the place was not a good experience. read more
