While seated we had the pleasure of being served by Isaac. Absolutely great customer service. We got the jalapeño bombs, Philadelphia, boujee and karage roll. Every single thing was good. Ordered takeout on a Saturday night, they open until 10 PM, and the online order process via their website was easy. After payment, the estimated pickup time was 25 minutes. By the time we arrived around 25 minutes later, the food was ready for pick up, no need to wait. We tried the Baked Lobster Roll, it has imitation crab meat, crawfish, and avocado, topped with baked mozzarella. The crawfish tasted fresh, and the melted mozzarella added a creamy texture on top which was great. We also ordered the Chirashi, an assortment of sashimi served over a bed of rice. The salmon, tuna, and yellowtail were all fresh, and the food presentation was beautiful, with the sashimi arranged in a ring shape over the rice. so i've been here before and had a bad experience but this time ive had it. i called in a to go order and the lady was SO NICE. i go into the the restaurant a little early because i wanted to add on an item. i ordered a 5pc sushi combo w the california roll. i asked the guy if i can add on. he said hold on let me check. disappears for almost 7 minutes. he comes back and says no there's no time to add on. we are still working on your sushi order though.... he never asked what i wanted to add which was a hand roll. i don't understand why i couldn't get an additional item when i had to wait another 10 minutes. Well I meant to take pictures of our beautifully prepared food... but we couldn't wait to eat! Only my second time here but I want to rave about not only the delicious food.... But the atmosphere and decor inside is so great. The food is really fresh. I'm very picky about sushi. As everyone should be! The fish is melt in your mouth delicious. Both times we've been there. We were served by the greatest waitress. I do wanna say each person on their staff that we talk to was very friendly and helpful! Our server though was the best! We caught her name this time.... Next time you're in there ask for Rachael! Tell her Alia Rachael sent you... she'll get a real kick out of it. I drive up on the weekends from Los Angeles to visit my boyfriend. Lompoc is a hard place to find quality food. And most of the inside of the restaurants here look like people have temporarily moved in. There's some breakout places that have outstanding food.... But we've had some weird service. It's rarely both in one place. We will be back too have sushi here often. I also come from a background in the restaurant/bar/management industry. It's really refreshing to be served by people who are genuine and you can tell sincerely like being in the food industry. Sake Sushi is a bit short handed with 3 servers considering the number of tables, so service was average. It could use a little updating or a makeover and get rid of all the paper signs trying to promote different menu items. Sushi was good although some of the rolls were a bit big to pick up. Looking for just anything edible after 8 pm in Lompoc, we stepped into Sake Sushi and Korean BBQ, and the restaurant far exceeded our expectations. We skipped the sushi part of the menu and ordered the bibimbap. He is a hot stone bowl filled with a combination of rice, vegetables, mushrooms, barbecued pork, with a fried egg on top. It is absolutely delicious, with the rice, beautifully crisp against the hot stone. The hospitality was warm and friendly, and the price is very reasonable. We will definitely return. read more

I had the bulgogi bento box which was served with miso soup (disgusting), tempura shrimp & veggies (so so), rice (old, cold and tasteless) and a salad which was the star of the meal. My wife had the shrimp tempura teriyaki bowl and said the shrimp were tasteless and the rice and steamed veggies were so so. I am visiting family in Vandenberg Village from Long Beach, and decided to eat sushi every day because my granddaughters love it. This was our first try and left us impressed from the time we walked in to the last bite. The ambiance wowed me with the decor or pinkish cherry blossoms generously grouped on the ceiling with tiny lights really set the mood and reminded me of our visit to Japan during cherry blossoms season I'm May. We were greeted with smiling faces as we walked in and sat on the takeout bench that seats 4. About 5 minutes later they handed us our sushi order and all the fixings. The rice was cooked perfectly, not too soft which we hate. The fish was fresh as well as the avocado which was ripe but still firm, yum. They gave us plenty of ginger, wasabi, soy sauce, and chop sticks. Its the best overall sushi experience for this city girl visiting a small town. Going in for a pick up order and the dude wouldn't allow me to add something small because they were "busy" knowing I'd wait for it. The muscles had barnacles and hair straight from bikini bottom. Went home opened the bag and half of the orders wrong. So after all that waiting and attitude I got f***ed. 3rd and last time coming here cus their food is ass and always give the wrong order. Sake sushi ended up being our lunch gathering spot today since it was open on Sunday. When you walk in you can definitely feel the Japanese vibes. They have Japanese music videos playing and lighted cherry blossom trees hang from the ceiling. The waitress was very nice and attentive. For an appetizer we started off with the garlic edamame. It was okay. There was A LOT of oil and butter at the bottom of the bowl, so it was a little overwhelming. You absolutely cannot go wrong with their beef teriyaki. It is personally one of my favorite dishes here and it very aesthetically pleasing, along with the I love DH roll. The menu is huge, so you should definitely be able to find something you like. All in all, it is not the best spot for edamame, but it's a great spot for everything else. Come check it out. read more

I came here for sushi not really expecting anything but the rolls were surprisingly amazing! We just got back from the beach near jalama and someone recommend this place. The portion was big for how much you get for rolls and sushi fish was fresh. By far the best soft shell crab roll I have tried and each bite, you can taste how well balanced the flavor it was and the different fish combination. Tempura and soft shell crab was crispy! I highly recommend this place if you're looking for rolls. I haven't tried the ramen or soup bowl but I saw people buying it and it looked good too. read more

Our first time here dining. Very friendly and nice greeting from our server, we were sat at the very back booth. Too dark for hubby to read the menu! Our server volunteered her favorite dishes, since we hadn't been before. It was difficult to hear her and each other-it was an extremely loud atmosphere. Hubby ordered the ribs, and I ordered green tea and a roll and asked if it could be made with out the spicy part. She came back to say it could be done but "just a little extra". The food came at a reasonable time, and my green tea finally came too. My jackpot roll was amazing. Probably the tastiest roll of all time! Seriously. Hubby's ribs were as tough as boot leather. Every bite. It was super disappointing for a $24 dish. The tempura tho was very good. The bill came, and I was surprised to see that the "just a little extra" fee for my substitution was $4.50. Almost a 1/3 of the roll price! Overall we would come back, as my roll and the tempura were great and hubby would order something different. And no substitutes for me!! We were visiting in town and this was the only place still open past 9pm. This is a pretty good Asian fusion restaurant with such a variety of items- Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Vietnamese foods. So we ordered a few different things- we got a sushi roll, a poke salad which was huge, pork ramen, bulgogi and galbi. The portions at this place for any item is so big. The ramen was so big, I didn't even put a dent in it. Broth was so flavorful and there were a bunch of veggies. The menu here is extensive, there will be something for everyone for sure. The service is pretty good and the wait for appetizers/main course came out in decent time. The atmosphere is trendy and cozy. The garlic edamame (I specified not spicy) seemed like it was tossed with only oil and garlic, left drenched in the oil almost halfway up the bowl, flavorless. The cucumber salad did have a good taste to it, that I did enjoy. The California roll also disappointed me with the lack of cucumber in it. The menu does say that their Cali roll only comes with imitation crab meat and avocado, but all places elsewhere typically have cucumber in the roll to give it that perfect little crunch. Ok, let's begin... for those that frequent Japanese and Korean restaurants, this place is definitely missing the mark. Might be popular just because there aren't a lot of places around Lompoc, for sure. Everything here is just not fresh, which is a scary sign for anything sushi. Their side of ginger smelled moldy and tasted like it's been left out and not refrigerated for days. Their side of white rice was old and beige, not fresh, and their crispy fried onion toppings for their sushi rolls were chewy and stale. If you order their Japanese ramen, expect angel hair pasta instead of actual ramen noodles. Instant ramen even has the right kind of noodles, so not sure how you could get that wrong. The soup base has no broth flavor, so you def have to add salt, soy sauce or something and the pork was hard, chewy and not edible (pretty much cardboard floating on top). Not sure if anyone even tastes the food they're cooking or preparing. I would recommend Sushi Teri over this place 1,000,000%, at least Sushi Teri's place has basic things like rice at least fresh. The dozens of gnats flying around and in your face when you dine in doesn't help the experience either. Triple thumbs down, avoid if you can... yikes. *Maybe their food is better when they're busier, we ate here on a weekday for dinner, and I just paid the bill and left the food on the table because I was worried I would get sick. I mean how do you get a simple bowl of rice and some side of ginger wrong? The details in the small things tell you a lot about a place. (Fresh ginger should be white, not brownish beige. Grateful to this place for being open Christmas night. Saved my family on our holiday vacation. We all ordered hot items so idk about the sushi here, but everything we got was fantastic. The beef spicy tofu soup (soondubu) had a lot of beef, a perfect amount of spicy, and a heaping helping of rice to help it all go down. The beef bibimbap was a little sweet but otherwise delicious, had a bunch of veggies, and a good sizzle that resulted in lots of yummy crispy rice. We will be choosing a different sushi spot in town. We come here often enough and have never sent a dish back. Today we were served severely overcooked calamari. I'm talking consistency of turkey jerky. I chewed and it just stayed in my mouth while the breading dissipated. We order fried calamari everywhere, I have never had calamari jerky. I sent it back like maybe we could get a fresh one, maybe it's just this batch. They gave us a repeat of the inedible dish. I explained how we couldn't eat it if we tried. They said I still have to pay for it because they don't refund for people simply,"not liking a dish." I told them that was wild because we COULDN'T EAT IT. Tried out Sake the other day. A nice little Asian restaurant on one of the main streets and perched on the corner of a busy intersection. The staff was friendly and we were sat within minutes of entering. The menu is large with just about anything to satisfy one's food craving of the Asian faire. The restaurant has seating throughout, with booth seating at the windows and table seating in the center. There is also a wide variety of music playing on rotation; from Oldies to KPop, you'll hear it all. I ordered the Beef Bulgogi, Shrimp Tempura, and Vegetable Tempura combination. This dish also includes a small salad, white rice, and miso soup. For $20 it's a steal. Sake does not go light on the portions so your money goes far here. Not only that, the food is prepared well and seasoned perfectly too. The beef bulgolgi was a hearty portion served on top of shredded cabbage. Lots of flavor in every mouthful. The tempura was perfect. Light breading, a crisp bite, and full of flavor without grease. All in all, Sake is a good place to try out! So much flavor and not spicy to where you can not enjoy the dish. The Ramen has the perfect amount of spiciness, order extra if you want it. Veggies included in it is broccoli, squash, bean sprouts, carrots, half a hard boiled egg, and of course the pork meat. The meat is so tender and flavorful. The Ramen came on the side so I could add as much/as little as my heart desires. The friedrice kimchi/bulgogi was on point! Kimchi is extremely mild with the perfect seasoning. The bulgogi a bit crispy, loved it! Came with an egg cooked over easy. The mushroom bombs are delightful, comes 4 to an order. Which are actually 2, cut in half. The sushi and sashimi appeared to be thrown together in a hurry. Also, do not get the bulgogi pork. It was dry and salty on separate occasions. This restaurant is open on Wednesday.
