Fast and great service from all the staff. Very friendly waitresses that will take care of you and not let you wait around for too long. Food was simple and fresh. Ambiance was clean and fun. They had a good birthday theme and turned all the lights off with a disco ball for a birthday celebration in the hibachi section. They also had a bar area if you're into that sort of thing. My experience was pleasant here for a first time customer. Jalapeño lobster bites were a tasty appetizer. To start to food is mediocre. I am not going to say it is bad but it JUST gets a passing grade. I had a multitude of rolls and a few appetizers and a as left feeling "meh" for lack of a better word. The most important part of any sushi is the rice. Depending on the quality can make or break a place for me. The sushi rice here was passable but not very good. If I was in the area and felt I NEEDED sushi I might of stopped in again and maybe tried a few new things hoping for a better experience. What makes it hard to come back is the fact that the service was downright nonexistent. The staff seemed rude and dismissive and I don't remember if they even filled my drink a single time. Barely subpar food and terrible service adds up to me not coming back. They have a pretty decent Italian place right next door (if you aren't committed to sushi/hibachi). The red snapper.... you could tell it was once a frozen filet at one point but you can't expect the red snapper to be super fresh in the mountains of PA. So I can let that slide. We got an order from uma using DoorDash tonight. I got a steak and chicken with noodles combination dinner. As I'm eating I look down and see something that looks off. I touch it with my fork and it starts CRAWLING. A bug was in my noodles, not just on top either. I ate at least 1/3 of them already. We call the restaurant to tell them about this bug. They ask "how many orders have bugs". They then asked if we wanted new food. I absolutely do not want new food from the same place that just gave me food with a bug in it. We asked for a refund since we paid over $150 for food we aren't eating. They won't give it to us (said we need to go through doordash) I'm sick over it. I could honestly puke. I've been to hibachi steak houses probably a half dozen times, this was my first visit to this one. It's located in a strip mall where the Walmart and Home Depot are located. The interior is clean and the staff is friendly. The chef was entertaining and our meal was cooked with no complaints. It's enjoyable watching your food being cooked right in front of you and the food is good, but one thing I've noticed about every hibachi house I've been to is, service is always on the slow side. This visit wasn't much different. We sat at the grill for quite some time waiting for the cooking to begin and we were almost done our meal before we were able to get a second round of drinks. On the positive side, the chef was entertaining and engaging and cooked our meal to perfection and I'll certainly return. read more

The restaurant is in an newer outparcel of the Coal Creek Commerce Center, formerly an Party Outlet store. Location is of decent size, but not huge. Went with the Sushi Roll Lunch w/three rolls. Soup was good, had a nice flavor. Rolls were delicious. Philly Roll had good favor, Eel Avocado Roll had a delightful strong sauce, and the Spicy Shrimp Roll had a nice kick, but not too hot flavor that I was exactly looking for. The restaurant offers both hibachi group seating and private dining, we opted for the later. You are able to order off both menus as everything is definitely cooked or rolled to order. I ordered sashimi as an appetizer with sushi and it was delicious, plus I loved watching the chef cut it and roll the sushi. I ordered the fish for dinner which came with a great tasting salad and an amazing mushroom broth soup. My wife even liked it and she isn't a mushroom fan. The fish was cooked perfectly and came with an insane amount of rice. The entire experience was great and there was no lack of service. When our server got busy a nice lady refilled our drinks. Spicy girl was good but not the best I have ever had. The green spider roll did not thrill me. A plain spider roll might have been better. I got the chicken teriyaki bento box and a spicy tuna roll. I had a maitai to drink and it was nice and strong. The chicken teriyaki was really good -- not in the least bit dry. The spicy tuna roll was pretty standard. Not all that spicy, though. The bento box also includes a salad, California roll and these little shrimp dumpling things. This place is so unlikely for Skook, yet it works and the food and experience is delicious. I've been here multiple times with friends and family, and the whole Hibachi act never gets old. All of the chefs at the grill are very talented and charismatic, and both adults and children will get a kick out of their antics (flipping vegetables into your mouth, shooting saki into your mouth, etc). It also helps that the food is delicious - I've never had a bad plate of noodles, veggies, and chicken/seafood. The serving sizes are generous so bring your appetite or a couple friends. We had a hibachi reserved ahead of time, however our wait time was absolutely ridiculous even after being seated. People who got there after us had their hibachis flaming before our orders were even taken. But, the manager took our first round of drinks off the tab, which we greatly appreciated and sent out some edamame when we told him how long we were waiting for out hibachi cook. Ever since, my experiences have been much better. The service is prompt, the food is delicious, and everyone enjoys the show. Their sushi rolls are very fresh and well constructed. If you're looking to save your budget, head in for lunch. They did a full Hibachi for our party of four to celebrate my mother's birthday.
