I had to decide for a LONG time whether or not to post this review. I decided to do it, because people should be forewarned. If I could give Zero stars, I would. My experience at the Decatur (4712 Memorial Dr, Decatur, GA 30032)location was awful. The worst customer service of my 29 years of life. My first time there was for New Year's Eve. I had a great time there with my tech who goes by "Barbie". She did good on my nails shape. I asked for no color because I had gotten my feet done elsewhere and was going back to match the color. I just wanted the set. And she delivered, they were just a bit thin. 2 weeks later, I contacted the tech who originally did my nails (Kennnisha or Barbie)ahead of time, per her direction, just letting her know 3 nails had broken and to get pricing. She said $20 for those and the fill-in ($15) together. I double checked with her to be sure and she said yes, $35 total. I told her I'd come to the salon first thing Monday. But, unfortunately, I got stuck at the airport and couldn't make it until later (I'm an Uber driver). I messaged this to her, but she didn't respond. (Mind you, I had given her my number for communication purposes but she never sent me hers.) At 1:30p, I made it to the salon just in case I might be able to catch her while she was still there. She wasn't there which was fine. Ming called her and Barbie asked me if I wanted to wait or to let Ming do it. She didn't tell me the price was only with her, so I let Ming do them since she was already there. I didn't want to waste anyone's time. Everything was fine (short of Ming's nail techniques), up until polish. When I told her I didn't bring enough money for gel and I only wanted regular polish, Ming's whole attitude towards me changed and she asked me to pay before polish. She asked me what price I was told, so I told her. Then, she got mad. We both tried contacting Barbie because we were both confused. She never picked up. After a lot of fuss, out loud in the entire salon (including customers and another nail tech)about me, I was embarrassed for being broke and publicly shamed for it, & I felt guilty for something that was quite technically Barbie's fault. After making multiple calls (one in which she was instructed to do what I wanted for the price I was told) and consulting the other nail tech (who i later found out was the manager), Ming took my card and swiped it for $35 then asked the manager if should she should polish them. OUT LOUD!! The lady said no. So I left the salon with half done, terribly done nails. I cried when I got home. I only wanted to splurge and do something nice for myself for once. I wasn't trying to be unfair. I was nice the entire time. I didn't deserve that. I'm not blaming Mimi because she wasn't there, but her staff is going to be the death of her business if that's how they think business should be conducted. I contacted Mimi about this on IG because from one entrepreneur to another, I just wanted to let her know. I was finally contacted by Barbie with no apology, but instead telling me I was not gonna be helped if I returned to the salon. ‍ Like, how's that work? Also a nail broke before I could leave the parking lot because Ming's bead technique is thin and sloppy. I have screen shots of all the messages, and photos of how thin and polish-less my nails were. RED NAILS FROM HELL!!!! I received a full set from Ananda, this past Wednesday. As a very punctual person, I some time realize that not everyone has a good sense of time. This was the case with Ananda, my appointment was set for 11:30 am, she didn't arrive until 11:50am. I usually won't bring this up , yet if you have a late fee policy it should apply for you just as it does for the clients. As a first time client, I would expect the same service as if I was a previous client. This brings up another issue I had. She was not prepare, I understand things happen, yet I was told " if you stay ready, you won't have to get ready". During the application of my full set, I expressed that I'm rough with my hands may you please apply the acrylic thick. Her response was that she applys her nails sturdy enough and I had no worries. Unfortunately, this was not the case. My nails were not the same Depth/ thickness. No more than four days later, two of my nails broke. I contact the nail tech, she didn't respond to text messages about my broken nail repairs until a day later with a response that was misleading. I had to call the shop in order to get in contact with her to find out that she was unavailable to fix my nails. She ensure me that anyone can fix my nails. Upon my arrival to the shop, I was nicely greeted and told to wait. It's a Monday, so they are short on staff, which is completely understandable. I waited my 60 plus minutes to be service. The young lady who repaired my nails did a phenomenal job, despite not having the color to match my original nail. She converse with me on how some times things happen whenever a nail tech is doing your nails. I ensure to her that I understand. If it wasn't for our conversation, I would assumed that Ananda didn't care about her clientele. Even tho, I gave a one star I will return to Ananda for redemption. I pray I won't get let down again.... You know what, I won't go back because I just broke another nail this morning. PS. Warning: lengthy post. I came with my husband for a pedicure--I had the "classic" for $25 and he was suggested the Man pedicure "active" for $40. Neither of our nail tech used a callous remover (I can understand mine not having the service added but not his) and neither shaped our nails. Both Coco and Mary were talkative and came across friendly but neither thought to have asked if we even wanted our toe nails shaped. When I asked my tech if it was standard that the classic doesn't come with shaping? She replied asking me why didn't I tell her that I wanted them shaped?? To that; I shouldn't have to tell you how to do your job it's not respectful. I came in specifically for their $50 gel couture nails special which included; full set, shape and gel. I needed just an overlay and I wanted a design ($10 extra) that I came across another tech's page that worked there but she was pretty busy and I couldn't wait so I let the tech who was already doing my feet do my nails. Immediately when she laid my acrylic I regretted that decision, but did not want to have her start over. She did try and kept asking me was I ok with my shape and I explained I liked my coffin shape I already had and just wanted my tips more squared--she made my whole nail square. We paid $127 in total for services we both were dissatisfied with, but we had to go, there was nothing we could do that day. I contacted the original tech I originally wanted to see, Kitt, and she assured me she could fix what I disliked the next day. I was charged $10 for the fix of my nails and I could not be any happier. I got a next day appointment and she was ON TIME, unlike Nail Shack where I used to go (I appreciate promptness and people who respect my time). I will continue to support this all black establishment and their services because they are talented and hard working and deserve the fairness of their clients to speak up when dissatisfied because they are eager to make their clients happy! read more

Got my nails done 3 weeks ago and began to see some dark color beneath the acrylic and to my surprise it was a fungus. I began soaking my nails off and discovered a fungus on not just one but 3 of my nails. This was the 1st time in 12 years since I have had acrylic nails. The ombré look that I selected required tips and acrylic I was hesitant but they look couldn't be achieved with just gel polish.. My nails were beautiful, which they should've been after paying $60; not including my tip. I spend a lot of money getting pampered but I didn't like how prices aren't posted nor consistent. Salon management has gone down since Mimi left. I spent a total of 4.5 hours in this salon. 30 minutes waiting, 3 hours receiving the worst pedicure of my life and 1 hour on half way decent nails. It looks like a 5 year old child painted my toes. Very tacky and messy. Tech did not trim cuticles. Nail tech drilled soo hard that she broke my skin and caused my foot to bleed. She's a regular and pretty much knows all the nail technicians. Parking is scarce and they are an appointment only nail salon but it was definitely worth my while to go here. The decor is eye catching and everyone seems to work well with each other with the system that is in place. Chanel did both my pedicure and manicure. She was patient with all my questions and recommended the best service for my needs. She did a good job in a reasonable amount of time. Unfortunately I would have preferred to give NO stars to Ultra Violet Nail Lounge. I've actually been wanting to try the nail lounge out since moving to Georgia. After issues, I even tried emailing the business however my email came back as undeliverable twice. I usually go to a great spot in Stockbridge, however I wanted to see what this nail lounge had to offer. Services requested were S&S, pedicure and wax, arrived at 1:10pm on a Sunday. There were 6 techs & 1 receptionist and 5 guests. I arrived to an unpleasant receptionist who barely greets you. I sat for about 10-minute (normal) when a tech came out from the back with a mouth full of food asking me to pick my color. When I told her I get S&S done and asked to be shown their options she said "Oh she'll take care of you" and walked off. I sat down when another 5-minutes passed and was lead to a chair with unbearably hot water. Hot to the point where the tech had to completely fill the remainder of the pedicure tub with cold water! After that she lets my fee soak leaves and comes back to take the polish off of my toes then leaves the station again! This time she is gone for a good 20-minutes. When she returns she just sits there and looks to the techs that are to the sides of her, still doing nothing. Once she realized that the tech next to me was done taking acrylic off her clients toes, she hops out of my station into that clients chair and begins working on her feet! The whole time no one is acknowledging me or letting me know what's going on. Another 10-minutes pass by and I notice that the water is cold and has begun to drain from the tub. The tub was refilled with warm water, but again I sat, and sat, and sat until finally Kitt came over and said that she would take care of me. Mind you this whole time I thought I was being serviced by the lady who put me in the pedicure chair. By this time it was already 2:40pm, and I was over it. I had been in the shop for over and 45-minutes with not a single service completed! I told her unfortunately they took too long, asked her to dry my feet and left. SUCH A WASTE OF TIME! Do not waste your time or money. Service means everything and this place lacks it in every sense. Management needs to make some serious changes regarding how they service and interact with not only their clients, but guests of the salon waiting to be serviced as well. Fortunately for me I will NOT be returning to give them another try. I will continue to be loyal to places like I Luv Nails in Stockbridge (678) 846-5977, who are not only talented but focused on Client Service. For example, after this whole mess of a Nail day, I called and said I would be in, in 20-minutes, explained the services I wanted and was told I they would be ready. I walked in and was immediately taken to the back for waxing, then brought out and was sat at a chair where the tech was preparing water for my feet to soak. I was given a water to drink and my nail tech also came with a bowl for me to soak my S&S powder off. My entire service was complete within an 45-minutes to an hour of arriving. This was my worst experience at a nail salon ever at UltraViolet Nail lounge on Memorial Dr! I arrived to the nail shop at 1:30p. The sign said open but the door was locked and no one inside. I stopped by today to this nail salon excited to be in ATL and going to a nail shop that wasn't all oriental. I called first no answer no problem so I hop on over and got inside ... no one asked me what service I came for, no one even looked up or asked me if I could wait or give me an estimated time or anything. I looked around and saw one girl sleep on one the drying station, two were in the spa chairs still with their sneakers on and two other people just sitting in the front with me in total silence. I asked another women if she had been addressed and she said she got up before I came and walked to one of the girls to get info and was directed to a book on the front counter. So I sat in disbelief for about 15 minutes until i finished some business I was doing on my phone then I politely got up and said and this is why people don't frequent minority businesses and left.
