Husband took his truck in last night, they said they would have it done same day, however when he called them back just before closing, they hadn't done anything with it. They quoted him $800 and it quickly went to $2,600 and the possbly $3,900 however they STILL hadn't looked at it! On top of that he was told it would be ready same day then when he followed up, they said it would be ready the next day, then he followed up again and they told him it would be four days! Management offered $100 off and a rental car for the inconvenience but when we asked ti speak to his Manager he said he couldn't share that information and his hands were tied. Well we understand car repairs are not cheap we also understand the importance of honesty and commnication! We told them we would be picking the truck up to take it somewhere else and they told us it was already ready for us. Interesting how that's possible when they said that it was completely torn apart. This experience was one blunder after another! Hoping for a better experience at the next place...rant over; enjoy your weekend all! We have been doing business with this company for over 10 years and have enjoyed working with them. However, the new group of management and employees seems to be worthless. I've been to many auto repair places and they've always asked me to schedule an appointment ahead of time. This was much more convenient for me being able to come in right away. When I got there I was greeted outside by the auto tech lead I spoke with on the phone and he was able to help assist me with my lift gate! He simply opened it and made some adjustments and advised me on locking it so it doesn't dis latch while I drove. This was early morning, so there was no line and I was able to get in very quickly. Normally an oil change would take about 15-20 which is still super fast! But because I was the only car, these guys worked on my car like a pit crew and I was out in 10 mins! These guys changed my oil, topped off my coolant, changed my windshield wipers, changed the engine filter, pumped up my tires, and topped off my washer fluid! They all had awesome customer service! They can change out batteries here. The employees I encountered were great! A stand out was Andrew (I believe that was his name) He was so great! Awesome costumer service skills! He's the reason I would come back to this location! He checked my engine light and made sure the car was safe to drive! Perhaps I'm used to super high prices in CA and lack of customer service on many occasions, though CA does have it's bright shining star establishments as well.. this place just stands out all around! Ten stars!! (if I could) So, I had an issue with control sway bars on our tiny airstream after severe weather coming through S. Dakota.. not vehicle related per se, but worth a try as our garage at home in CA has some guys with trailer experience always willing to help. Worth a shot after no luck with trailer/RV places.. Doug was so awesome just on the phone.. wasn't sure they could help but stop by for a free look over and if they could help they would.. had a couple guys experienced with trailers and thought they could help.. turns out, we did stop by on our way out of town as planned and they totally helped fix our issue with the sway bars - so much appreciation and all no charge. Because of the warm and welcomed interaction on the phone request for help with sway bars.. I knew this shop was top notch. Go figure the AC on our Expedition went out too and had to come in before that trailer appointment and got us on the road in about 45 min with cool AC for about $150.. I mean, seriously in CA I would have been charged $180 just to have it looked at be told "sorry" can't help, our will apply to a $500-800 charge.... Of course I fixed it.. and to be transparent it was the cost to look, troubleshoot, test systems and then add coolant.. We then came back for our scheduled day out look at the trailer and we're on the road. I will choose Hometown Autocare any day any time before ANYONE else!!.. (*Yes plural.. all 4... No judging) One was really low and the other 3 were moderately low, more low due to how low the temps had been around the time of my visit. I asked my bestie if there was any places that put air in your tire for you (because at the time of my visit, it was below zero) and she suggested Hometown Auto Care. I'm glad that she did. I was greeted by an older gentleman who was very friendly, personable and chatty. I enjoyed him and his kindness. It gives me family owned vibes, but I don't know for sure. I asked if they could fill my tire (i asked for one). He spoke to one of the mechanics, who I think may have owned it, and guess what? He checked them all and filled them all. I teased him about now wearing a coat and having on shorts such cold weather, we shared a laugh, he told me I can get back in my car iwht my family and he'd take care of it. I never carry cash, but asked my bestie for some cash because I felt like his kindness deserved a tip. It wasn't much, but i wanted to show my gratitude. I can't tell how they do on cars, but they definitely are kind, generous ppl who seem genuine enough to do well with your car. My next oil change, I'm coming to them... all the way from dtwn Mpls. It also needed 2 new back tires because they were trashed. And everything needed to be aligned. They did fantastic work. They also communicated very well, and they were very honest. They even stayed open late on Friday night so I could pickup my car in time to use it for Mother's Day weekend. The frosting on the cake is they were able to save me $400. Well when I got the car back I noticed they had chipped the fresh paint on my strut tower near the upper strut mount nuts. They were careless while loosing or tightening the upper strut nut and their socket slipped off and chipped the paint. If that's not bad enough when I was up racing at BIR I had to adjust my coilovers and found that they had way over torqued the lower strut mount bolt, stripping it out. I thought these guys were professionals, it's an embarrassment. Tires plus could have done a better job. If you value your car I wouldn't take it here. Very disappointed with their workmanship.
