Loved my Spa Pedi and Dip Nails from Michelle! They welcome walk-ins but normally do by appointment. I have been going here since I moved here a few years ago and the nail technicians are always incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Excited to show off my baby blues at work this week!
Well thought I was doing good by finally making time to get my eyebrows waxed today. Went in with only needing a touch up cause my brows were perfect. All I needed was the new growth gone. Well I guess the person that did my brows thought differently cause she waxed off the top half of one of my eyebrows!!!!! I asked her three times to let me see what she did before she tried to cover it up with liner. So now I have to go pay over $300 dollars to get a hair style that is going to cover my eyebrows because THEY GROW BACK SLOW!!!!! Did she apologize? Yes. Does everyone make mistakes? Yes. But did you make one a little thinner than the other? No. Did you pluck one too much? No. You completely took off half of one!!!!! This is messed up. Had to walk around Charlotte and complete my errands with my face looking like that! So embarrassing!!! You sparing me $12 is nothing compared to what I have to do to cover your mistake. Thanks for ruining my face!!!!
Casey was amazing. My nails look great! She took her time and made sure I liked them. She didn't cut me or make me flinch. I will definitely be coming back.
Don't believe the four stars because this place is far from it in terms of quality. Half my nails were lopsided and then my middle fingers weren't the same length. When another lady came to "fix" it she tried to blame it on me not telling him that i wanted them to look skinny and should have told him that. Also asked for them to be removed and she said no. She kept filing down my nails to try to make them look good. Don't expect an apology for their poor work either. $48 and I'll be removing them same day. Too bad i can't give 0 stars because the quality and customer service is nonexistent. It's clean inside tho!
I haven't had a bad experience here yet ! These ladies are awesome ! This is my second time coming here and it was as great as the first time ! I have NEVER gone to a nail salon that is as clean, professional, quick and as good as these ladies in the 20 something years that I have had my nails done ! Go here ! Don't think about it, go here ! You will love your nails and be treated great too !!
Asked for acrylic pink and white ombré and this is what I got. You can see the white line clearly when it should unnoticeably transition. Nails were filed too short and if you zoom in, you can see there's little black hairs that are now glued inside and that's on every nail. The technician was a nice guy but this is unacceptable for $60. He said to come back within 3 days if something is wrong but honestly the whole thing needs to be redone. Forgot to mention, they actually experimented with a new ombré set on me that they ordered a few days prior. Even though I chose a different pink, the tech still ended up using the darker pink instead which made my nails look enflamed. Very disappointed, won't be coming back to this salon.
Update I have to lower to 2 stars I just got my feet finished yesterday and the polish already came apart today. Not to mention the lady was a bit pushy time to find new nail spa and put this one on my do not go to list. It was fun while it lasted :) Won't be back wasted money

If I could give no stars I would. Last Thursday I went to get my nails done and not only did I have to wait 30 minutes after my appointment time to be serviced. The owner was the rudest person I have ever encountered. It is now Monday and my nails are lifting!!! how is that even possible? terrible service all around and my nails look terrible.
As a new Charlotte resident, I was on the hunt for a new nail salon (you know the important things.) While exploring the Ballantyne area and going grocery shopping at our local Publix, I noticed Ultra Nail Bar right next door. It was closed when walking by but I checked out the store hours and looked through the windows. It looks very new, clean, organized and was not your average nail salon. After doing some research online I noticed they took great pride in cleanliness which is extremely important for a nail place. I made my first gel manicure and pedicure appointment with Jenet picking a name randomly from the tech list. Let me tell you, I picked one of the best. Her customer service is amazing and services top notch! She is a perfectionist so you never have to ask her to fix a nail, she can already tell what needs to be done. I will now only see Jenet because I know I will receive the best service!
I would highly recommend going to ultra nails. I have been looking for a good place that is consistent, clean, and friendly. Not only do they use medical grade equipment, but they also have a autoclave. They have a point system that allows you to get rewarded from your loyalty. I made an appointment and I was able to walk right in with a warm greeting. They assisted me with picking out my dip powder as well as my toe nail color. Jenni and Trina did my nails and did a wonderful job. I was hesitant in getting dip powder again because I had a bad experience at a previous salon, however I will be back to get my dip powder redone. They offer different types of pedicures and manicures that always include in you picking out your scent of lotion. Ultra is the best salon in Ballantyne area. You won't be disappointed, I would recommend making an appointment if you do come especially on the weekend.
October 19, 2018 Things have been going well for the last 3-4 appointments. And I ALWAYS make an appointment because I have so little time. It's Friday. I have one more client appointment at 6:30 (literally 1/2 a mile from the salon) before leaving town for 9 days. I have an appointment at 5pm. I got a call saying they were running behind and needed to move my appointment to 5:30. I explained the situation and got nothing except, yea we sometimes run over because people are picky or decide they want additional services. No solution. Just I get screwed because someone else decided they wanted something else? I now get to go on vacation without having my nails done. I can't upset another client because this business cannot keep their promises. Just poorly managed.

I fount Ultra Nail Bar here on Yelp! Decided to give a try, first time here. And my experience was what i was expecting to have. I love love my nail, done by Tisha. (Thanks tish ) also, she did my eyebrows. Tisha took her time and was absolutely understandable how i wanted my nails & eyebrowns. I will definitely be going back! read more
Removed the acrylic toenail today & my toe nail is black. I have never had a black toenail in my life! It also ripped off my toe nail. They will never see me again. I truly have nothing good to report here PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE! They will mess you up! read more

Edit...less than 24 hours later and 4 of my nails have already chipped and 1 has almost peeled off. Not happy so dropping a star. First time here. I always go to another place down the street but saw the reviews and thought I would give it a chance. I did the ultra combo mani/pedi and absolutely loved it. The place is very clean and they take extra precautions like putting a liner in the tub and the bath bomb was great. My only complaint was that my nail tech cut my cuticle several times on my bith my hands and feet but otherwise it was great. read more

I drive all the way from Southpark cause this is simply the best place. Specially Alice, she's the cutest and her work is impecable! Also their deluxe pedi... totally worth it! Their point system actually works and the appointment system is great too. 5 stars to the absolute best nail bar in Charlotte!! read more

What an amazing place!! I came in here after getting a horrendous nail job done at another place and the ladies here were so polite! I was taken in right away and they were able to fix the mess the other place had made. I will definitely be returning whenever im back in Charlotte! read more

I decided to give ultra-nail bar another chance and I am happy that I did! I showed them the imperfections with the previous set and they repaired my nails beautifully. I previously got sns with tip extensions in snowflake, this time I got sns ombre. Ombre is extra, there still is no notation of this on the website. Overall I paid $20 outside of the $45 for the full set with tip extension. I'm not sure if that was all for the ombre or if it was the sum of shape, ombre, and maybe length although I would consider these medium length. Regardless, I am happy with my nails and the service I received. I have received so many compliments already! There were several technicians who work on my nails. The first, Lee, removed the damaged nails and sanded down the others. Jenet, who did most of the work was absolutely fantastic; I cannot brag about her enough. She was extremely attentive and meticulous and I really appreciated that. She held my fingers side by side to compare my nails and ensure they were the same length and shape. She most definitely took her time and made sure I liked the length and shape several times throughout the process. I asked her to do a narrower coffin because the last time I was upset with the coffin shape I left with. It was very wide and uneven. I also asked if she could do stiletto shape on my pinkies. Jenet's shaping is everything! Once it came time to apply the ombre powder, Brenda jumped in. Brenda was also very attentive and clearly experienced. She applied the powder on my left hand and finalized the shaping on both my hands. All three ladies were very helpful and friendly but Jenet was absolutely fabulous. This location is a bit far for me so I'm eager to try the midtown location next but if you're considering going to this location, ask for Jenet! read more

I came here on a saturday with a few friends. I was worried they were gonna be busy but we got served immediately. They have a huge options of colors. The whole area is clean and beautiful. I liked my nail color. My nail tech was friendly but I wish she would of fixed my cuticles a little better. They were still pretty exposed. No biggie. I would come back again. read more

I drive twenty minutes too get to Ultra Nail Bar, and in a world where nail salons are more ubiquitous than Starbucks, that is saying something! If you are wanting a dip powder manicure, Ultra Nail Bar is THE place to go in Charlotte. Definitely set aside plenty of time because it is not a quick procedure, but it looks AMAZING and lasts a FULL MONTH. Otherwise, Ultra Nail Bar is clean, I have never had to wait without an appointment, and they have a cool point system that lets you earn discounts on your services. You earn 1 point for every $1 spent, and every 100 points redeemed gets you $5 off. You can also earn 100 points for every person you refer, for liking them on Facebook, etc. Ultra Nail Bar is great for getting together with friends. They offer mimosas, wine, and sodas, and have two cute butterfly pedicure chairs for little girls. They offer quite a selection of pedicures starting at $25, as well as regular, shellac or gel, and dip powder (powdered acrylic) manicures. They also offer acrylic, pink and white, and crazy designs if that is your thing. There is a huge selection of colors and they use OPI, Essie and other types of nail polish. The menu also features waxing services, although I cannot vouch for the quality since I haven't tried. For consistent quality and comfort, check out Ultra Nail Bar. You won't regret it! read more

I called to check if they accept walk-ins and the girl who answered was pleasant and said they do. *Few minutes later* I walked in and the girl behind the desk greeted me. She said it would be about 15 minutes which was totally fine with me since I didn't have an appointment. It didn't feel like 15 minutes--in fact, I had just the right amount of time to look through their basket of colors (literally they have a basket full of colors you can choose from for a dip powder mani) before the nail tech came over. I've never had a dip powder mani, but wanted to give it a try since it supposedly lasts 3-4 weeks. [I stopped getting my nails done at salons because the mani (even gel) would never last long enough to justify the cost and maintenance.] (I'm a flight attendant so nail polish doesn't last long whatsoever.) The tech was polite, but very quiet and never introduced himself. He asked if I wanted my nails shaped and did a decent job. All in all the dip powder manicure was great! The only negative I have is that he did not clean up my fingers at the end. (My skin around my nails are all shiny and some have the powder color too.) I brought it to his attention and he didn't really seem to know what to do to get it off. He said washing my hands at home would make it come off... Regardless, I will return with my mum and sisters over the weekend for a pedi while they get mani&pedi's. Side note: I read reviews about them having mimosas and did see the bar area where they have quite a few options. Halfway through my manicure the girl behind the desk asked if I wanted a beverage. I seriously think everyone who gave this place a bad review is smoking some serious crack! This place is the best in Charlotte. Hands down! Where do I begin?! 1) These are artist at their craft. They will do your nails perfectly. Using top of the line equipment. 2) color selection is obsolete & you pick the scent of of your lotion. You also pick the scent of the mask that comes with your basic pedi. 3) They give you FREE liquor. I said it! Free! Top shelf vodka, tequila, ect. 4) The price, super fair!!!! 5) This place is gorgeous! If the queen ever comes to Charlotte, bring her here. 6) They Have A rewards program! Hey guess what guys?! Finally a nail salon that will give you a free Gell Mani or pedicure after you've reached 300 points. I just earned 60 so yeah!!! These people are amazing & sweet. I tipped way more than typical because Rose & Tammy are perfectionist. I'm not going anywhere else. I didn't even make it out of the parking lot before I wrote this review. I had no choice but to stop by here since my usual salon is closed Sundays. Was told the wait would be 20 mins. I waited an entire hour before someone sat me down. Then I waited some more and the man who did my nails cut my pinky cuticle so deeply that it bled even after I got home. No apologies or anything. I let that go. Then as I tried to pay, they tried to upcharge me $5 for "shaping my nails." I had them pull up my history to prove that I asked for nothing more than I did last time (same nail shape, same nail polish brand, etc.). They finally charged me the correct price and I walked out unsatisfied and with a bloody finger. Not coming back. read more

I went there to get gel polish and regular pedicure. This was my first time there and it will be the last. The gel started peeling of the second day, my nails were filed uneven and the pedicure was horrible. My cuticles look awful! read more

Disappointed with the experience that I had because I really wanted to love it here. I got a gel mani after not getting my nails done in over a year, and was not impressed. The color I picked was an opaque color (not see through), but was transparent and unevenly applied on some of my nails due to inconsistent application. I got them done on Tuesday and they have already chipped on Friday (3 days later) with no cleaning or heavy duty work being done on my end. You can see the brush strokes on my nail beds and can see where polish was applied outside of my nail bed. I tried to live with it because it's been over a year since I went to the salon, but it's not up to par with my expectations. read more
