Great small local business! Got my car all ready to go and backed up their service. The whole crew was great.

I suggest that they should inform and ask our permission first before they do any action and overcharged for services.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience with My Auto Works was too concerning not to share. This place is dishonest, untrustworthy, and will try to force your silence when their work has been challenged. They lack in communication and are extremely overpriced (as a plethora of reviews below confirm). A more detailed account of our situation is included below with an attachment of the agreement they tried to force us to sign to stay quiet: We originally paid approximately almost $3,000 for brake repairs. When the truck developed brake problems again while that repair was still under warranty, we expected the issue to be addressed. Instead, we were quoted another $2,300 for what they claimed were entirely new problems, with little explanation as to why the original repair had failed. We paid their diagnostic fee and sought a second opinion. Then a third. Both independent shops concluded the issue appeared to be the same warranty-covered repair, not the new repair My Auto Works was recommending. After asking us to bring the truck back so they could "make it right," the communication was terrible. We constantly had to call for updates, despite repeated promises that they would do better. The biggest issue was that they performed work we never authorized. We had made it clear we were waiting on pricing before deciding how to proceed, yet after days without any communication, we called and were told the work had already been done and the cost was even higher than the original quote. We never approved this work. When we declined the additional repair and asked for our truck back, they initially tried to charge us another diagnostic fee. After reviewing their own recorded phone calls, they admitted we had never been told that fee would apply and agreed to waive it. Then came the most unbelievable part. When my husband went to pick up our truck, he was handed a "Mutual Release and Non-Disparagement Agreement." They wanted us to agree not to post reviews, discuss our experience publicly, or have anyone else do so before they would release our vehicle. We refused because we believe customers have every right to truthfully share their experiences. They initially refused to give us our truck back unless we signed and told us we needed to call law enforcement to make that happen. Only after another employee admitted, "Roland f***ed up. He was supposed to have you sign the non-disparagement agreement first, but you signed your invoice first. So you're getting the truck back. Take the win and leave," were we allowed to leave with our vehicle. Mistakes happen in the automotive industry. What matters is honesty, communication, and accountability. Unfortunately, our experience was marked by poor communication, conflicting diagnoses, work performed without our authorization, and an attempt to condition the return of our truck on signing away our right to speak about what happened. Poor communication, unauthorized work, conflicting diagnoses, and an attempt to prevent us from sharing our honest experience is not how customers should be treated. Based on our experience, we will never return. Head to "My Mechanic" for honest and reasonably priced work.

First of all, the name should be updated. It's Havoline, not Texaco…read more Brooks, the main person who was helping me during my visit, was very nice and thorough with the assessment of my car. I had recently moved to the Vancouver area from the mid-west and one of the other employees who was working on my undercarriage asked me if I moved from the mid-west. Because my under-body was full of rust and my brake lines and exhaust were really bad. I had a suspicion because of some funny noises I've been hearing while driving around town, but I am very glad that they were honest enough (concerned, maybe?) to tell me how serious this was. Brooks also showed me the stats essentially of what maintenance Chevy recommends on my car at various mileages. He showed me a sample of my transmission fluid and said that it should've been changed at 30,000 (my car was at 57K at this point) or at 60,000 miles. In the past, most quick oil change places just said what their company recommends, and really didn't take into consideration the make, model, or year of my vehicle; or if they did, it wasn't conveyed to me in the way that I could feel confident about a decision right then and there. Brooks and the other fellows at Havoline really seemed genuine and didn't try to push any extra work on my car. I like that there's a car wash and detailing center attached to the shop, and they give you coupons for these other services (which my car needed a good wash badly from the trip across the country!). I will DEFINITELY go back there, and appreciate the exceptional, non-pushy service I received.

The manager is rude, was very short when asked any question. Won't return here. Update: After arriving home and taking a look at my newly washed(before my oil change) car. I'm wasn't happy. Not happy at all. There were oil smudged hand prints all over my car. I had to reward my car and dry towel the smudges off. Won't be back. Promise

After they started working on the car they found bigger issues than our planned service we had requested. They stopped all work at this point and I was contacted right away and made aware of the issues that were found. I spoke with Cory and let him know our intentions of just picking the car back up and skipping even the initial service we had brought it in for. Cory was very accommodating with my schedule and made himself available for me to pick it up. They repaired the vehicle and it looks great. Paint matches. It was a very expensive repair compared to the other shop, more than double! They forgot a minor thing but somehow this turned into rambling excuses and tried to make me feel like somehow it was my fault. Strange way to handle a simple mistake. I think they will do a good job but if you end up with a problem or dispute then I think they would rather argue instead of just taking care of the issue without excuses. Looks bad and makes people feel bad especially if they're going to fix it anyway. Probably just needed a diaper change and a nap. Great for insurance repairs but I wouldn't recommend for self-pay.
