Abra has one of a kind energy! We attended an event there this past weekend and the facility was super clean and prepared for the event. They were thorough making sure those that entered had clean shoes and sanitized hands. Staff was kind, helpful and friendly. It was a long day and staff stayed high energy and diligent throughout. I'll preface this by saying I believe USC is probably the best option in the area. I have had two kids going here for roughly a year plus. Pros: facility is solid it has a lot of potential activities and different ways kids can grow and learn gymnastics. They also have a play area which is clutch for dealing with kids who don't have class at the same time. Cons: teachers look often inexperienced and turnover is common. First few months we had two younger but quite vocal and directed coaches. Now it's tricky. In my other class we have more experienced coaches, but midway through the class they tend to lose focus and kids are sorta all over the place. They have some odd rules and enforce or change them at what seems random. Sit in the wrong spot? They'll announce a general warning not to do that. Bring your kids to the door that they used to let them in last week that without warning was changed to the other one? You bet that's gonna be a public service announcement about you messing up. Overall: experience is going to be class dependent especially with the teachers. If I knew there was a clearly better option I'd probably take it. As of now I believe USC is probably the best option in the area. read more

After two years of enrollment at USC, my daughters weren't developing any skills or moving beyond Rec 1. They're athletic and excel in several other sports, but they didn't progress In gymnastics at USC. Two years ago I canceled their enrollment at USC. They loved gymnastics but I couldn't justify the expense at USC when they weren't learning. Then one of my daughters recently expressed a renewed interest and was teaching herself skills by watching youtube videos - videos that were better than the instruction at USC. I found a nearby gym where she is thriving and developing now. The instruction is far better. I threw away money at USC. read more

It looks like they have a great developmental and recreational gymnastics classes. But this is a review for the pre-school gymnastics. We were unfortunate to have a teacher that didn't pay attention or show the kids how to use the equipment. It was pretty disappointing. This is specifically for their event that they host, Spirit of the Flame...the kids are PACKED in like sardines in this gym. There's hardly any seating for the spectators, good luck trying to actually FILM your child. We are on our 4th hour of being here for our session. Stop trying to shove everyone into one session. It's really not a great environment to do a gymnastics competition in. The girls are practically competing on top of other girls. Very VERY frustrating as a parent. Edit: IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MEET they STOPPED updating meet scores online and now my child only has 3 scores in and not all 4, as well as tons of others, some only had 2 scores. Meet scores online is important for athletes to keep track of improvements, set back scores, etc. so frustrating. We ended up being there for 5 hours!!! read more

Love the gymnastics classes that they have for our daughter (5). The coaches are great and keep the kiddos attention. My daughter has learned so much mobility movements and can hold a handstand on the wall! (She's very proud of that) They have so much fun and great outlet for strength and skill building. There are lots of camps and classes to select from, and also love the makeup class option. The space is huge and very well maintained/cleansed. read more

Spacious clean gym areas for parents to watch. I would stress the clean ala Covid. Friendly staff. Minus a star... for preschool 1-2. Has a lot of solo workout stations. If your kid has a short attention span, they may not ready. I would say this is really a 4.5 class not for 3 year olds. It's a confidence crusher. You'd have to try the koo parent kid class to master these stations. Which are usually waitlisted so if you see an opening jump on it. read more

Paid for my daughter to have an advanced summer gymnastics camp which was a significant effort coming from 3 hours away and staying for 3 days. Immediately encountered 'coach April' as an unwelcoming and a cold administrator. Ignored the rude attitude and personality, but as my daughter progressed through the camp, her only complaint was around coach April. Again ignored for the sake of a learning experience that required discipline. On the last day parents were allowed to observe gymnasts for the final couple of hours and coach April attacked my wife and I. We left to prevent unnecessary escalation and April followed us outside to continue to escalate. Absolutely the most unprofessional behavior I have ever seen. EVER. Our daughter really enjoyed the camp and we would consider returning if the camp was not under her leadership. read more

Not a good place for your kids. Appearing to be owned by a family of women, different generations, I found the ownership to be rude, petty, and mostly fo used on bossing around the parents about where they sit. They seem to be unable to keep staff, most are disgruntled, all of them no older than teenagers, and NONE of them actually trained in gymnastics. They have a documented grading system that is supposed to advance kids as they get better but THEY ONLY USE IT WHEN THEY ARE PROMPTED BY PARENTS. in other words they are happy with your child doing dame thing over and over with no true instruction. We moved to CYC and got a much better experience. Oh but they have a really nice gym space.... way too over crowded with their competition group from.what I remember seeing Golden Bear Children's Gymnastics it would never be run that way. I enrolled my 6 year old son to a day camp here - very last minute by the way. Glad to see the facility look nice and new. However it smelled like feet it was nice to see there were a few other boys there so my son felt comfortable. My son had a good time here. He wants to go back to this camp! read more

I enrolled my 6 YO child in a trial session for beginner tumbling classes and will definitely not be purchasing additional sessions. This evening, there were other participants more experienced in the group and the instructor (Coach Jessica - 6:30 PM on Thursday evenings) did not establish a welcoming environment for a new student. I didn't see any introductions to the group of a new member, rather she had the kids jump right into exercises at the beginning of class. Coach Jessica was quite enthusiastic in helping the other children whom she called out by name and gladly cheered them on in their exercises that they were able to complete with ease as they were more tenured than my child. However, the times she felt obligated to help my child, I saw her start each interaction with a sigh of exasperation and then quickly do the bare minimum to help her get through the exercise with very little patience or instruction. I would say that Coach Jessica spent less than 1 minute with my child helping her get through an exercise - she would walk over, help her flip over, and then walk away. I didn't expect Jessica to spend copious amounts of time with my child as this was a group session, but for a beginner student's first class, I would have thought that spending some brief time would have been appropriate. This is NOT the type of attitude or teaching approach I would expect of an individual who instructs/coaches children in activities focused on "strengthening the mind and body through the connection of sport". I found our family's experience to be the antithesis of this mission statement. I was so dissatisfied with this trial session that we decided to leave at the break. Of note: I had a family friend join us this evening at class to observe as she was interested in having her child enroll in tumbling here. She decided to explore other gymnasiums in the area. read more

We love Ultimate Sports Connection! We came because they were very COVID safe (still are in terms of cleanliness!). We've stayed because my daughter enjoys it so much. My daughter is just 3 and typically very shy; the teachers did a great job encouraging her and helping her participate. From her first day, they didnt rely on me to get her into class but held her hand and ensured she had fun. She's really blossoming now - running into class on her own and even raising her hand excitedly to be an example to other kids. read more

My daughter just finished her gymnastics summer camp & she is already asking to be signed up for another week! We randomly stumbled in this place after taking my dog next door for his grooming appointment, Im so glad we did. The staff was all very kind & friendly. My daughter loved her teacher Ms Pinky she said she learned so much. At the end of the week, there was a performance that us parents got to watch, it was the perfect way to end her week at camp! What a beautiful gymnasts place! We just just hosted a birthday party here and it was exceptional! The staff is extremely friendly, professional and accommodating. Pristinely clean location and the fact that there is outside area and they allow your own food, decorations, etc is fantastic. Less things to worry about for kids with allergies. The children ages 1 though 10 were playing for an hour and a half straight without a single complaint, which is unheard of. The only time they came up to adults was for water break and once it was over, for food. Best birthday party ever! I highly recommend Ultimate Sports Connection in Concord. Our two daughters have followed the terrific coaches out to Concord because of the special bond and community they have developed over many years of support and encouragement. Whatever your child's level there is a spot for them! The gym is brand new, huge, spacious and open and the coaches and their team have done a great job transitioning to life with Covid. I am confident in their protocols and response to social distancing. I asked my daughters what they missed most about having to shelter in place and they said it all would be ok if they could go back to gymnastics. Finally it has happened. read more

In COVID-19 times, this gym is doing a terrific job in offering athletic activities (so much needed by our kids in this period) to the kids in a safe environment. The head coaches are SO careful: they clean and wipe continuously, they take social distance rules seriously, they help the kids to have fun while protecting them from each other. My daughter recently joined the competitive team at Ultimate Sports Connection, a brand new gymnastics training center. She followed the founding coaches over from another gym after more than 5 years training with them. The coaches are professional, experienced, and kind, committed to nurturing the whole child, not just the gymnast. The huge facility, complete with state-of-the-art, brand new equipment is safe for all levels. Their Covid-19 protocols meet or exceed those established by the State and County for the industry. The space is large enough to have dedicated spaces for recreational gymnastics classes and the competitive team which they are currently growing. The girls on the competitive team have welcomed my daughter with open arms, and she comes home happy and giggling after her training. This is a highly professional, warm and welcoming environment for any child, whether a brand new gymnast interested in trying the sport for the first time, or a competitive gymnast seeking to successfully advance through the Junior Olympic track. read more

Our daughter has been coached by Monica and Abra for her entire gymnastics career, building great team bonds along the way. We've travelled extensively both in and out of state to follow her gymnastics journey and enjoyed the unexpected experience of becoming "sports parents" in the process. The new gym facility gives the kids so much more space and equipment to work with than was possible at their previous program. Once shelter-in-place went into effect, the USC team put considerable effort into keeping the kids connected, active and focused virtual workouts (quite a feat in itself), and now that USC is able to open again, the benefits of the gym's considerable square footage becomes particularly evident, as the kids have the kind of space and equipment necessary to workout and practice in a proper, socially-distant manner. The staff has been vigilant about checking the kids in carefully, and keeping them well-distanced during breaks, even though I'm sure they'd rather want to get closer if they could. I wouldn't hesitate to encourage parents to check out the spacious, well-maintained facility and consider signing their kids up for classes there. read more

The Ultimate Sports Connection facilities are so, SO nice--nothing like any other gym my daughter has been to for training or meets. There is so much space, everything is new, parking is easy and safe, it's climate-controlled, airy and clean. I can take care of the grocery shopping next door at Trader Joe's, pick up dinner at one of the restaurants or head a few blocks away for great shopping at The Veranda. So top marks for the facility and convenience. But even better is the coaching staff: unlike some gyms, there is no yelling and no pressure to train through injuries. They accept her as she is and help her reach her potential, which makes her want to keep going. Every member of my daughter's last Optional-level competitive team (more than 15 girls) followed owners Coach Abra and Coach Monica from their prior gym to Ultimate Sports Connection, even thought it meant a major commute for many. They are just now opening for recreational gymnastics and camps (with a major focus on safety!), in addition to expanding their team offerings. read more
