The movers themselves were great. The communication from Sarah, left much to be desired. The pricing they quoted: "We charge $85 an hour with a 3 hour minimum and a one time $70 gas fee to get to and from your residence We do have extra fees only if we have to move safes pianos pool tables otherwise you are just looking at $325 for the 1st 3 hours in $85 an hour for each additional. This will provide you 2 movers, blankets,Dolly's tools etc. We do charge drive time to and from if this works for you please get back to us at your convenience to schedule your move." Oddly, this company charges for drive time to get to the job and a $70 gas fee. I hadn't read it the paragraph above very cleary, but writing this review to help clarify for anyone considering doing business with Ultimate Movers. For 3.5 hours of work they charged me $495. The true hourly rate was $122 + $70 for gas. They charged me for 5 hours + $70 because they charged me to get to and from their job. For example, they told me they were going to arrive by 1045. The fees began accumulating when they left their location at 1007. The movers confirmed that this is a common misconception. Classic bait and switch! If they advertised their true rate of $122 an hour, they would garner far less business. No Show and No answer to calls. We used them last year and it was no issues. Probably would of recommended to others and actually did. However, we called a week ago, had it scheduled with Sarah. She said they would call the day before. We tried to call but no answer. So it comes to the day and there is no one. We tried to call that morning and multiple times after that, even on different phones. I don't know what happened between last week to now, but definitely won't recommend them. These movers are great! My mom used them for her short move and my husband and I have now used them many times. They show up on time, they are professional and get the job done right. Best of all they are extremely reasonable with their pricing! During our recent move the movers who unpacked the truck commented on how well it was packed. Due to a family emergency we had to change to them and they really took advantage of us. They were TERRIBLE! First of all, they over charged me by 2 hours and wouldn't refund my money for the over charge. Secondly, the guys while nice were SO SLOW! They were constantly on their phone and talking to each other. They also blared music super loud the whole neighborhood could hear and it said the F word multiple times. We had J Thorlacius and Jordon come and load our POD this morning. I have never seen anyone pack so thoroughly. J has some kind of master Tetris skills to get two bedrooms, a living room, and two refrigerators all in a 16-ft container, with all the boxes and other stuff. I wanted to have a disassembled pool table moved from one home in the Coeur d'Alene area to another. I talked to Sara in the business office who quoted me $350 for a truck and two men for 3 hours. The move went as expected with the men picking up the table about 2:00pm and completing the delivery an hour later. I was shocked when the driver demanded an extra $90 for travel. Basically 3 hours to drive from Spokane to Coeur d Alene and back. Arguing with Sara in the business office accomplished nothing. Very unprofessional. read more

I really wanted to like this company. The owner was great to work with when setting up to get everything loaded onto our moving trucks. Pricing was fair. And the guys that loaded our furniture and belongings seemed like they knew how to pack. But now that I'm unpacking the truck, the guys unloading it are pointing out many things done incorrectly. For example, boxes of books were placed on top of boxes marked fragile with Christmas ornaments. I had hundreds of packing blankets but nearly half the furniture wasn't covered, wrapped or anything. I have thousands of dollars of damage to my furniture because of how it was packed. I recognize that moving will result in some dings and dents. This is way beyond the normal dings. This is the second time we used Ultimate Movers, and like the first, the move went smoothly. Although they were not able to arrive at the original time, and they let us know before hand that there was a job in front of ours and they may run late and would let us know. Sure enough, we had a text and phone call letting us know the new arrival time. That's the way to run a business! The movers were Danny and Randy and they were professional, courteous, and very careful with everything they moved. They were very efficient, working quickly to get the job done. Really unfortunate that I am having to write this, but as I write this review, I see another customer who has also written a review today had a similar experience, and believe that it needs to be addressed. We needed help unloading a truck in Spokane Saturday afternoon. It was just an unloading job, that would have required 2 movers and a maximum of 2-4 hours. We called on Friday asking for rates and availability, and asked for a quote to be sent via email. After receiving the email, we called back to confirm with the manager Sara, and confirmed via email as well. We had anticipated a time between 2-3pm, but said that we would let them know when we had a better idea, and they said that was fine. The next day (Saturday) Sara called around 12pm asking what time we would need help unloading, and I replied that we were running about an hour behind schedule, and that we would need a 4pm arrival. Sara said she would talk to her crew, and let us know if that worked, and call us back. Around 2:30 pm, Sara called back saying that 4 pm would work, and to give them a call around that time so that they could meet us there. This is where things took a turn for the worse. Shortly before 4pm we tried calling to let them know that we had arrived, and the manager did not answer the phone, and stopped responding completely. We called a total of 10-15 times, left multiple text messages and voicemails, and even called from multiple numbers. No response. It is now two full days later, and we still have not received a call back, explaining what happened. In the end, we were left high and dry, with no way to unload the truck. By the time we had realized that the company and Sara were bailing on us, it was too late to find another company to help since it was a Saturday afternoon, and most companies are closed on Sundays. Its one thing to cancel on someone last minute, things happen. It's another to not even have the decency to tell you that they are not coming, or even care to explain why. If Sara would have let us know when we spoke at 2:30 that they were not going to be coming, at least we would have had more time to make other arrangements. Instead, they confirmed that they would be there, an hour and a half before our arrival, and then decided to not answer any of our calls instead. Really dishonest and shady business practice, and hoping that this can be addressed before other customers/companies have to go through the same poor experience that we did. read more

AVOID THIS BUSINESS. The other movers my family had booked fell through so I was looking for someone a mere 4 days before our move. The first business who got back to me was Ultimate Movers. The woman who answered the phone, Sarah, was very sweet and nice. The interaction went well, except for when she stated that they preferred payments in CASH and that there's a fee if you use a credit card. Also, for some reason, she said that the movers are on the clock starting from the time they leave to arrive at our residence. Both sounded a bit odd and a little shady, but I trusted in Yelp's reviews. I booked 2 movers plus 1 mover/packer for the day. Sarah assured me all is good and even confirmed our appointment on Sunday, the day before our move. Day of the move comes. The movers arrive in their car, take one look around, and then leave. Not a word to us. We call Sarah, trying to figure out what the heck is going on because WE NEED TO MOVE. She doesn't pick up. We end up calling everyone we know and doing the move ourselves. DO NOT TRUST THIS BUSINESS. Best case scenario, these guys left because they didn't want to work. Worst case scenario, they saw a bunch of Asians and decided they didn't want to work for us. Either way, these people are not trustworthy and won't get the job done. Save your time and effort. Go look elsewhere. By the way, their rating is totally bogus. If you scroll to the bottom of the reviews, right below the page numbers, there's an innocent looking link that says "36 other reviews that are not currently recommended". If you read through the first page, you'll see that multiple people had this company no-show on them. Yelp needs to fix their algorithm. Charge for drive time but like to pad it. Arrived at my house at 8:45, scheduled for 8. Told me at the end of the day they clocked in at 7:45. I'm not an hour from anywhere in Spokane. They like to round up. Two man crew disappeared for 30 extra minutes while driving. Not worth the hassle. (Addendum since I can't seem to respond to the owners response) my wife never had contact with you. My messages through Yelp clearly show we agreed on 8. That doesn't excuse an hour drive time. My stuff got moved, no major damage, the guys were nice. However, this wasn't my first rodeo, so I am familiar with how these things go. First,they were 30 min late, which didn't bother me because they did call. I showed them what needed to go and they got started. The first load was ready to go-- they followed me two miles down one straight road to get to my new place. We unloaded and headed back to my old place. 45 minutes later, they finally showed up-- they got lost. ?!? Loaded the second load on the truck-- I noticed they took things from the garage that I told them NOT to take. they also were taking a long time putting things on the truck. They left a lot of things on the driveway, and were trying to figure out the best way to load things. It is my opinion that it took a bit too long to get loaded. And they had to take time to unload the things I didn't want moved. Meanwhile, they broke a small desk lamp-- he did pay me on the spot for a replacement, but still. Second trip over, they GOT LOST AGAIN!! It is literally TWO MILES DOWN A STRAIGHT ROAD! The move took longer than I think it should have. I noticed some scratches on my furniture, and a dent in a photograph that is irreplaceable. I still have one of their furniture pads that I reminded him to move before he even left the room that it was in. I think they need some lessons in time management and packing a truck. I was happy it got done, but it cost more time and money than I had budgeted. read more

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Really fucked over my husband and I. Stated our house was too dirty, WELL NO SHIT kinda hard to clean when there everything in the way. Then they had the AUDACITY to send an email to state that it smelled of "feces and urine". I just had people walk in and everyone called bullshit. Yes, the place is a mess, BUT WE ARE TRYING TO MOVE SO WE CAN CLEAN THE PLACE. If you have pets and are needing to move, DO NOT USE THEM. They will apparently have an IMMEDIATE reaction to being in the same house as them and then leave without telling you, so you'll get an email stating that they can't do it and had to go to the ER. I'm beyond PISSED. They seriously screwed us over. UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO OWNER: I call serious bullshit. We've had people walk in and out now, and they all agree that your workers are seriously mistaken. Ultimate movers left me high and dry! I had this move company scheduled for Saturday, August 17th. Talked to them on the day before to make sure I was scheduled. Everything was scheduled for 9:30 am. At 7:30 am a lady called and said they didn't have a truck driver and could not move me until Sunday, the next day. The second option is that I rent a truck and they could have movers to load and unload. I told the lady that I had to check to see what I could do and I would call them back, but I had to be out that day. I went to Uhaul and rented a truck. Called and called Ultimate Movers and no one would answer, text and left a message. My opinion is that this company is not a good legit business with very poor business practices. Never again. They were to show up at the storage unit at 2 p.m. I'm there. I"m waiting. They phone to say nope, now it'll be 4 p.m. Then 6:00 pm. They arrived at 6:30, all tired and worn out. I told them they wouldn't be able to pack up the truck before dark and that they'd never get it all in. I had told Sarah it was a 10 x 30 storage unit so she should have been able to estimate space (my stuff didn't fill 10x30 - it was more like 10x20). Sarah suggested I hire a third guy to make it happen quicker. What happened instead was that J was struggling so hard to try to fit all in the other two had nothing to do but stand around while I paid for the extra man. I had to park my car behind the truck to provide headlights to pack up by. Even then they couldn't get it all. We left the storage unit at 10:30 pm and headed to my new home. These guys were exhausted, hungry and very unhappy. It wasn't their fault. Sarah and Shane had over booked them and rented a truck that was too small for the move. So now we're in my new house and by 1:00 a.m. they stopped unloading into the house and just left things in the garage. Now it's time to pay. The actual charge was TWICE the estimate. From $700 to $1,400. They want cash and I don't carry that much cash, especially since the estimate was half of that. I offer to write a check. Sarah finally said they would take a credit card but then that didn't work. Sarah says it's becuase my zip code is wrong???? HUH??? I tell her it is correct as I just bought the house and it's on the paperwork. I told her to google my address and the real estate listing will show up with the same zip. She did. It does. She was still bullying me. (I soon discovered that Wells Fargo declined the card as they thought a $1,400 charge at 1:30 a.m. was fishy, especially since I use my card about twice a year. Wells Fargo called me an hour later to ask about possible fraud due to numerous attempts to run my card and that just increased their suspicion. Yet Sarah kept insisting I was lying about my zip.) Now what. Sarah tells me her guys will NOT LEAVE MY HOUSE until they get the money. It's 1:45, I'm an elderly woman alone with my disabled son and three very tired and angry men and she wants me to go to an ATM with her men to get the money!!!!! This is just plain extortion. I ask to talk to Shane (the boss) but we all know he's her husband. By this time Sarah was just laughing at me. I was becoming distraught and my son was nearly having a meltdown from hunger and exhaustion. She laughed. FINALLY, SHane agreed to take a check. OF course, he made one of teh guys read off the check VERY CAREFULLY to check how it was written - I guess he was thinking I would not be honest. Followup: I had to call together friends to help with the boxes/furniture still at the storage unit. I had to ask them to bring in the stuff the movers had left in the garage. I have asked Sarah twice for a bill detailing the hours worked (she charged for two additional hours but wont' explain that). Never got one. I also have asked twice for a receipt. Still haven't got it. NO paper trail, you see. I wonder why. They will not answer my calls and have not responded in any way. read more

The first time they came out they said they'd bring a 16ft box truck. they got there 45 minutes late with a 10 foot box truck and immediately said they couldn't do it- stuff happens we get it- so we rescheduled. At NO point did anyone say the amount or price or anything had changed. The price was reiterated over the phone once they saw the load and that was that. Fast forward to the new appointment date: They showed up an hour later than their start time on their new appointment date and did an awesome job moving but it took a bit of time which was anticipated. SOMEHOW- 6 hours at the quoted $90 an hour/ came out to $895. Now I'm no mathematician but that means there was almost $400 in undisclosed fees. So although The movers themselves were wonderful humans- I suggest you give your money and business to a more reputable place. UNLESS of course you want to pay a shady business. 100% recommend!! Immediate response to my inquiry and it was hassle free making the apt. Two movers came right on time with everything needed for a move like blankets and dollies. They were very professional and super nice. They didn't waste any time at all and hustled throughout the whole move (definitely won't nickel and dime you). They were very efficient and definitely experts. Nothing was scratched or damaged and the rates can't be beat. The movers arrived in very casual clothing, commented on what an easy move it would be since it was mostly boxes until it was mentioned that the new location was on the third floor then their whole demeanor changed. They stated that they were going to pull the truck around to get started. 35 minutes later I get a text from supposedly the office stating that they were unable to do the job because one of the workers was severely allergic and had to go to the hospital. They were in the apartment for at least 10 minutes with no issues conversing just fine until the 3rd floor was mentioned. No mention of issues at any time. No concern of allergies, nothing. They just left without a word. Only afterward was something said and what has been said is insulting, slanderous and extremely rude. If they didnt want to do the job, just say so. Don't make up lies to cover employee laziness. I have pictures to show that there is no urine, feces or other unmentionables on the floor, just an apartment in a normal state of moving. No cleaning has taken place since your workers walked out in perfect health. Maybe they are just allergic to the idea of working for a living. Addendum: that you would just copy and paste a comment from another review shows your level of unprofessionalism and laziness. I have visual proof of my claims I doubt you have the same. DO NOT USE! THEY WILL NOT SHOW UP! I scheduled Ultimate Movers to unload two UHauls about 3 weeks before my unload date. I called to change the date a couple of times as our closing date was adjusted. They responded quickly and gave me every hope they would be great. They then showed up to unload as scheduled but promptly had to leave because one mover had an emergency. I called to see what would be done to help us and they said nothing. There was no one else to help but we could call Craigslist or they could reschedule us for the next morning. I asked if they would reimburse any portion of the cost to keep the UHauls the extra day and they said no. It was 3pm and we didn't know anyone else so we agreed to pay extra Uhaul fees and reschedule for 8am the next day. The next day arrived and no one showed up. We called and left voicemails, sent text messages, emails, etc. and no one ever responded. They completely ghosted us. We ultimately had to hire different movers last minute (Two Men and a Truck...reliable and worth every penny). Ultimate Movers left us stranded and didn't so much as return a call or apologize. I'm so disgusted with this place. Sarah was really nice when I called. I explained to her that I had a one bedroom apartment that needed to be moved with about 15 large items and the rest in boxes We booked our time. She was in contact with me throughout the whole process, very nice. But then when the movers showed, they thought it was 15 items ONLY, not my whole apartment. They apologized for the miscommunication, and said they'd send another group of movers over to help with our move. I'm sitting here my entire life packed including the fridge packed etc. I have to be at work at 10pm for a grave yard shift and need to try to get in a nap. Figured I'd be moved in and able to do so. Two hours go by and no new truck and no call to me. I call and leave a message. Another hour goes by, I call and leave a message. Another hour goes by still not truck and no call letting me know what's going on. At this point it's 5 pm, and we are left with our life packed in boxes and not moved into our new place and I work graves and need to sleep during the day. If this is how you run your business than I am surprised it's kept going. I will not be calling this company back for a move. read more
