C & N Door Refurbishing - Before refinishing

C & N Door Refurbishing

Spring Branch

As a newer homeowner, it's difficult to find the right person for various jobs around the house. To…read morebe completely transparent, I had messaged someone else on Yelp initially, but Yelp went and also sent my request to two other companies, of which C&N was one of them. Paul was the first to reach out to me and give me an immediate quote to my request, which based on the numbers i saw while researching initially seemed reasonable. He also offered to do so within days of my request, which fit in perfectly in the two days with fine weather before Thanksgiving so my guests wouldn't be stuck using the garage entrance. On the day of the job, he kept me updated regarding his ETA, when he might be running slightly late by a few minutes (which by contractor standards is unheard of as they're usually extremely late and never let you know). He arrived at the time he updated me, was courteous to my family, brought a tarp to temporarily cover the entryway while working on the door in my driveway, and the process took no more than 4 or 5 hours. He was extremely honest about any possible shortcomings in the final product (of which my family all looked and could not notice any problems with the one thing he mentioned), which I appreciate greatly in this day and age when people will try to pull a fast one and pawn off flawed or substandard work to make a quick buck. With fewer reviews, some people might be more cautious with considering this company, but I for one am extremely thankful I gave them a chance and for the excellent service I received.

Paul did not complete the project. He took most of the money and stopped responding to my texts or…read morephone calls. The work is literally half done and the door is in story state of refinishing. I would not recommend. I have been trying to contact him for over a year now. Edit as a folllowuo to Paul's response: I texted on March 22nd, April 24th April 28th, Aug 15th, Aug 29th and then reached out on Yelp messaging on Sept 15th. All in 2025. It's been more than a year and half since we started the work and it never got finished. I can understand priorities but it's important to finish the work undertaken and partially charged for. Remaining work is not just top coat as Paul referred. It is: Stain, Top coat, weatherstripping, hardware cap on front door handle. Happy to share text images if needed. Lastly I'd be happy to remove my review Paul, if you can come finish the remaining work soon. My intent is not to tarnish your reputation, I am at end of my options, as I have failed all other ways to reach out to you. You don't reply to my any of my texts or calls. Sorry it went this way.

Rubber Duck Refinishing - Refinished tub.

Coating has lasted much longer that previous companies' coating. Would hire again and recommend to…read morefriends.

Sorry this is so long, but this has been going on for 6 months now…read more I hired Andrew to refinish my claw foot tub. He was very friendly and when the job was done let me know if there were any problems to please contact him and he would take care of them. Unfortunately there is over-spray on all of the tile on the walls from about waist down. It looks like that overspray settled in the tub and left the finish in the tub rough as well-like almost sandpaper rough. The tub was refinished in April. Andrew came back at the end of May once when I was not there(door has a code to let contractors in) and said he "removed the nibs and touched up around the drain". The pictures below are after that. Still rough and overspray on the walls. The tub will need to be moved around to get to all the walls and clean the overspray, so I have it on a flat dolly on wheels to make it easy. He said he needs the tub hooked up to water and a drain to wet sand the tub. I told him I can do that in a few minutes, soon as the overspray is cleaned off of the walls. Lot's of phone calls and text messages later he did agree to come out again on September 3rd, but never showed up. He won't answer the phone, return my messages or respond to text messages. The tub is still very rough and will be a nightmare to clean if it's left like this, along with no so comfortable to sit in. The overspray on the walls is heavy, and will not wipe off. There is a small spot I scraped it off with a putty knife in the pictures below. With a buffer and 3m scrub pad I cleaned 1 tile, which took about 2 minutes. 3 tiles per sq foot, about 18 feet of wall, 3 feet high. That's 3 hours or more of buffing and scrubbing. I shouldn't have to do that. I've been very patient, and all I want is Andrew to fix this. I understand sometimes things go wrong. Just honor your word and fix your work. I'm now looking at having to hire another contractor to come fix this. I would still give Andrew a chance if he was willing but he won't communicate with me. This is now holding us up from moving into the house. The plumbers can't come out to install everything until this is resolved. Good luck if you use him and have a problem. He's not going to put any real effort into fixing it.
