Ace Handyman Service got the job done, yes, but it did not go as smooth as I would have hoped. I…read morecalled for them to install a new outdoor shed as a doghouse for my fiance's dog for when she moves in. Theresa, the woman I spoke to at their office, ensured me that there would be proffesionals working on this project and gave me a hefty but reasonable quote based on the projected hours that the 2 men would spend building the shed. The quote was around $2,000 and it was constantly repeated that the price was based on the hourly rate. Honestly that's a pretty steap price for building a shed. I had no free time to do this project on my own as I was planning a wedding, still in the process of moving, and preparing for a baby to be born on top of my full time job. I now wish that I bit the bullet on that one and did it myself because I would have saved myself $3,600. These proffesionals were constantly complaining about the manual and claiming that the instructions were wrong (in my line of work this is common for people that just can't figure it out and want to blame the product for their own lack of understanding). If it was hard to understand, I don't get why they sent 6 different people to work on this thing, anyone who's led a project in construction before knows that when things get handed to other people constanly it gets messy, and the new people have to play catch up trying to pick up where the last people left off. This makes sense when you realize that they make more based on how long they take on the project. Not only this but there are several spots where screws are supposed to go where there aren't, meaning on the finished product there are gaps between the floor and the walls. I understand that it's hot outside and sometimes the heat can take a lot out of you, but as someone who works on residential and commercial air conditioners for a living (meaning spending the bulk of time on rooftops or attics where the heat is amplified), the guys could suck it up. It honestly seemed like most of the time when I checked on the guys working on the shed, they were either reading the manual for excessive periods of time, complaining about the heat, or complaining about how some auto shop was trying to screw them over by selling them an overpriced service. (Ironic, huh). The property owner here where I live also reported to me that there were pieces of our seperate project that were taken by the individuals working on the project. I don't doubt that we'll get them back, but I do feel that it's worth mentioning. All in all the job did get done, the shed absolutely did get built, but they dragged their feet a bit, I paid way more than initially planned, and the final product could have been a little more refined.

I was really hoping to have a positive experience and support a growing local business, which is…read morewhy I'm disappointed to be writing this review. I hired Emily for a move-out cleaning based on her website, which advertises a deep clean as part of the service. Unfortunately, when I returned to the home after the cleaning, several areas that I expected to be included were still dirty. The baseboards had not been cleaned, the window sills still had dirt and dust, and the interior window glass still had visible marks that I ended up cleaning myself. I also had to mop portions of the kitchen floor and scrub the kitchen sink. I will mention she did a great job cleaning our appliances which seemed to be the only visible difference concluding her visit. Because I wanted to make sure I understood what was included in the service, I sent Emily a text asking for clarification on what her move-out cleaning covered. Unfortunately, I never received a response and was left on read. After paying $250 for the service, the lack of communication was just as disappointing as the quality of the cleaning. I normally wouldn't leave a negative review because I know small businesses are working hard to grow, but I also believe honest feedback is important for future customers. Based on my experience, I would recommend continuing your research and considering other providers if you're looking for a thorough move-out or deep cleaning service.
