Hannah was my contact person and she helped me negotiate the world of insurance and roofing from beginning to end. She was always available and responsive to texting. She made many visits to my home to follow up on various details, which is all the more impressive at a time when it seems that everyone in B/CS had hail damage to their roofs. Hannah's knowledge is extensive, and there was no job she wouldn't tackle: climbing all over my roof, checking the stifling hot attic in 100-degree heat, and wearing a face mask during the pandemic. I am incredibly grateful for her taking the lead in negotiating with my insurance company and providing the proof to convince them that my gutters & downspouts were also damaged and should be replaced. She didn't hesitate to return a second time to take more pictures at their request. The day scheduled to replace the roof went so smoothly and quickly it was unbelievable! I returned from an early morning walk to find two trucks already parked on the street at 6:30am. There was a big and clearly very experienced crew who were finished by 11:00am. They did a thorough job of clean-up, including checking for dropped nails and hauling off an old satellite dish they removed, as well as all other trash. Hannah followed up with another nail check and thorough inspection of the entire roof and attic (solar vents were installed). Theresa, the woman I spoke to at their office, ensured me that there would be proffesionals working on this project and gave me a hefty but reasonable quote based on the projected hours that the 2 men would spend building the shed. The quote was around $2,000 and it was constantly repeated that the price was based on the hourly rate. Honestly that's a pretty steap price for building a shed. I had no free time to do this project on my own as I was planning a wedding, still in the process of moving, and preparing for a baby to be born on top of my full time job. I now wish that I bit the bullet on that one and did it myself because I would have saved myself $3,600. These proffesionals were constantly complaining about the manual and claiming that the instructions were wrong (in my line of work this is common for people that just can't figure it out and want to blame the product for their own lack of understanding). If it was hard to understand, I don't get why they sent 6 different people to work on this thing, anyone who's led a project in construction before knows that when things get handed to other people constanly it gets messy, and the new people have to play catch up trying to pick up where the last people left off. This makes sense when you realize that they make more based on how long they take on the project. Not only this but there are several spots where screws are supposed to go where there aren't, meaning on the finished product there are gaps between the floor and the walls. I understand that it's hot outside and sometimes the heat can take a lot out of you, but as someone who works on residential and commercial air conditioners for a living (meaning spending the bulk of time on rooftops or attics where the heat is amplified), the guys could suck it up. It honestly seemed like most of the time when I checked on the guys working on the shed, they were either reading the manual for excessive periods of time, complaining about the heat, or complaining about how some auto shop was trying to screw them over by selling them an overpriced service. (Ironic, huh). The property owner here where I live also reported to me that there were pieces of our seperate project that were taken by the individuals working on the project. I don't doubt that we'll get them back, but I do feel that it's worth mentioning. All in all the job did get done, the shed absolutely did get built, but they dragged their feet a bit, I paid way more than initially planned, and the final product could have been a little more refined.
