I was told my brakes and tires needed replacing, and as I commute long distances I wanted to make sure my vehicle was well equipped to handle winter conditions on the LIE. After my inspection was finished, I was quoted $1,079 for the brake replacement, new tires and the inspection, but when I went to pick up my car, I was charged in two installments (as the repairs took place on separate days) and the total was nearly $1,400--almost $320 more than what I was told the total would come out to be. To make matters worse, they removed my front license plate covers and replaced them with their own advertising covers without asking for my permission. Not only was I upset by the unauthorized advertising on my vehicle, but they also put my front license plate on upside down. (See attached photo for proof.) The final straw was hearing my brakes grinding after they had supposedly replaced them. This was incredibly disappointing and left me feeling taken advantage of. I had hoped to find a trustworthy auto shop for future service needs close to work, but instead, I feel like this place took advantage of my situation as a young woman needing an inspection. I won't be returning, and I strongly recommend you get a second opinion before trusting this business with your vehicle.

First, Rubio was selected by our insurance to fix a small dent/scratch on back left which turned into a repair cost of 5X of original quote and a spike in our insurance (not to mention it took 7-8 weeks!). While that was wrapping up, we had our second vehicle in for repairs to be covered under warranty and after 3-4 weeks of lies and being without the vehicle again, we lost our chance at getting the repairs. Travis had told us repeatedly (verbal, text & email) that he had submitted 3 claims for repairs. He never did, these were all lies! Turns out he did nothing. The overall communication and lack of execution was very poor! We were extremely disappointed and do not recommend Rubio/Travis to any of our friends and family in the area.

Although we didn't much care for the Cooper my wife saw a used BMW that caught her eye so we test drove that and she fell in love with the car. Adam was great to deal with -- very nice, no "high pressure" sales, very straight forward about the cars, prices, etc. (We had visited some other used car dealers and none of them seem to know car prices off the top of their heads -- they said things like "it depends if you finance blah blah blah). Adam made everything easy and after a little negotiation we made arrangements to return to pick up the BMW. I also mentioned to Adam that we were interested in trading in our current car on a used pick up truck. Even though Adam didn't have any pick ups in stock - and I'm guessing generally he deals in higher end used cars - he very nicely offered to see what he could find for us. After a few days of e-mails Adam found an excellent 2012 Toyota Tacoma with very little miles on it. Once we "signed off" on the truck he was able to have the truck transported to Westhampton. We picked it up last Saturday. My wife and I are both very happy with our "new" cars and very happy working with Adam. The whole process was so easy and enjoyable I wish I needed more cars! haha. We took the car there and they said they had done the job and gave us back the "old alternator". Well, when we left the car worked for approximately an hour then took a crap again. We called them again and said that the car still wasn't working. The owner then came to my house and told us, oh it must be the battery. we went out and bought a BRAND NEW battery, had that put in....for FREE. The car was doing fine until that night at around 9pm, when we left my job and did some errands. On the way home from said errands we stopped for gas and as we were pulling out of the gas station, all my dash board lights came on and started blinking. When, we were on the way home all of my electrical systems went insane. IT WAS 930 AT NIGHT AND WE LOST ALL OF OUR LIGHTS, YES THAT MEANS HEADLIGHTS, TAIL LIGHTS.....EVERYTHING. We contacted Toyota, they said the only reason that would would happen is the alternator is bad. Now considering, we just had the car at this establishment and they claimed to have done the job, we were perplexed. NOW WHAT! We said well lets get a second opinion, we did they said it was definitely the alternator. We reluctantly said OK can you do the job....they said ok. They pulled the alternator off the car and told us it was the ORIGINAL alternator to the car.......WTF! (that's basically what we said, because the job was supposedly already done.) In conclusion, this place took my money and NEVER DID THE JOB THEY CLAIMED TO HAVE DONE. THIS GARAGE IS NOTHING BUT A PLACE THAT TRIES TO RIP PEOPLE OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I called to ask if someone could replace the trim clips. I have an enormous assortment, which I purchased online. Anthony said to bring the car over, and he'll take a look. Well, none of the 620 clips in the box will work. Pfffft. He said that the clips have to go in a certain way, and they slide on. He said that I will have to go to Land Rover for the clips, and he would install them. He very kindly put some more tape on the trim, and didn't charge me for it. I will get the clips, and return. I also need his help with another issue, and I feel very confident that he'll do a great job at a fair price. I am delighted to have found a good mechanic!! I have a wonderful mechanic in Colorado, and wasn't sure if I could find one of his caliber in NY. I'm happy to say that I believe that I have!
