My strategy for finding any new third party is to read the reviews and try and synthesize the truth, speak to a decision maker and assess and finally ask for some quotes for the parts and labor. I spoke to four shops and of course everyone needs to see the job before finally committing and that scope can obviously change. Sam freely and patiently gave me some quotes for both (others couldn't get past - we need to see it), the quotes and the final pricing were both very fair and competitive. Mo communicated freely during the fix and heres the kicker and why we'll trust these guys moving forward. They easily could have turned the minor job into a relatively major fix and they didn't, the problem and solution was less in every sense than what I assumed it would be including their cost - great job the both of you!

Even before I moved to the US, I would purposely wait till I was visiting buffalo to get an oil change here because the staff is always super friendly and polite, they are honest and most importantly they are not pushy after you say no thank you. On my last visit Steve was very personable, helpful and answered all of my (annoying) questions. I had to wait over 40 minutes last time I was there, which I understand sometimes it's busy - but there's got to be a better way to save your spot in the queue than letting your car sit and run for an hour.

Delta Sonic's area manager Dave was very rude accused me of lying about the damages and the brush causing the damages. He refused to look up camera footage from February, March and April to prove that yes they did use those blue round neoprene brushes on my vehicle even though that was not in my plan. He reprimanded me for having less than 7,000 miles on my vehicle and told me that is a lot of miles for a new vehicle and that is where my scratches came from. I told him I live in the country and work in Buffalo so yes I have miles from driving back and forth to work every day and that would not cause parallel buff lines with scratches that trail along both sides of my vehicle. The only thing my vehicle was squeezed through since I got it was those blue neoprene brushes that should've never been used in the first place because I wasn't supposed to be getting a basic wash. I paid for a super kiss plus plan. So therefore not only did they damage my car they were charging me for a super kiss plus plan and only giving me a basic wash all winter. $1700 of damage

I was there for an oil change. It was 25 minutes before I was even acknowledged. No water? That's a company standard. Another young woman who arrived after me asked, "How much longer, I've been here 20 minutes already". She was told, "About 20 minutes, there are other customers". No reassurances or apologies. Maybe I arrived on an off day, but my impression was there was no heart, no hospitality, no hustle.

Then, the old man who had been waiting for over an hour before I got there, said he's been working on the same car this whole time. The mechanic said the old man's car would take at least a 1/2 hour. Then, a semi came & he was helping unload that. A woman pulled up for an oil change & he took her right in. He said any oil changes that come in before my van gets inspected, he's gonna take first. Terrible Experience at Pep Boys on Elmwood. Day 4 of repairs Assistant Manager Zach placed me on…read morehold while checking on the status of my car. I sat on hold for 40 minutes only to get disconnected and have to call back TWICE to get an answer from another staff member who had mentioned they were still waiting on a part to arrive. No communication from staff as I had to reach out multiple times a day to only hear "not sure what's wrong with it yet". Had major repairs done over the course of 4 days only to pick it up, drive a mile down the road and have the car enter low power mode because of an issue with the sensor they had installed already. After an entire day of diagnosis and waiting on another sensor to be ordered I got my car back. Bought 4 new tires that were not even filled and had no Air valves caps. Guy at the front handed me 4 new caps and I installed them myself. These guys will tell you what you want to hear to get you out the door and really doesn't seem like they care when your car is completed.
