I recently came in for an updo for a gala and showed Kimberly S a reference photo of the style I wanted. She completed the initial look in about 20 minutes. When she showed me the result, I politely asked if she could tighten the curls to achieve a sleeker finish, which was my main request. Rather than making a simple adjustment, she took the entire style down and redid it completely, taking another 20 minutes. It was clear she was frustrated by my request, and the final result did not reflect the look I asked for or what I expected based on the photo I provided. I've attached pictures of the finished style for reference--unfortunately, it was not acceptable for the formal event I was attending. That said, I truly appreciate the kindness and professionalism of both the manager and the receptionist. They were understanding and made a genuine effort to make the situation right, which I'm very thankful for. read more

I went to this location tonight, and I had a gift card and was excited to use. I happen to spot the "national lash sale" which was 30% off. I spotted some Mac mascara for $11.89. So, i decided to get that. When I get to the counter to check out, the mascara rings up to $28. I explained to the cashier that it was $11, according to the label and sign. She calls for her associate who goes over to the mascara, I am 90% sure the associate goes over to switch the labels. They try to tell me that the mascaras were not in the right spot.... (i had went back over there to show them, picture below) and then the label says "lancôme" but if you look closely...... it's only Mac mascara in that particular cube (bottom left, black/black &yellow packaging)) It does not matter if the mascara was "not in the right spot" there was more than one, there was more than 3..... so as far as customer service goes, just honor the price, which was suggested by sales associate, Edgar, who initially greeted me and helped me during my shopping. Only person I can speak highly of. So, the manager says that she would honor the price, and when the cashier comes back over after she gave discount, it's rang up to $19. I am like it said it was $11. So, I ended up telling them I don't want it. I was disappointed, because I honestly felt like they were trying to act like i was the crazy one when it's not my fault that I was shopping and was expecting a price that was displayed. I immediately called customer service on them and i was told that my frustration was valid and I should be getting a call from a store rep in order to reconcile the matter. This specific location has a 2.8 rating, and what I experienced, it pans out. As someone who has worked in the customer service field for 5+ years, this is subpar customer service and immediate attention needs to go to employees who don't understand putting the customer needs first. Entered the store on Feb 15, excited to go in and shop with my gift card/birthday money for Valentine's, was not greeted by the employees what so ever. But someone enters right when I had gone down an isle and I hear Welcome to Ulta, I looked up and said what the Hell! This has been going on for months now. I needed an eye shadow urgently. Galleria did not fit into my time schedule to get my usual, so headed to ULTA. I loved the experience, I realized there is so much I did not know about Ulta beauty, including the part that they do in-house make-up and hair style. They carry a large variety of beauty brands, which are good quality and reasonably priced. And , they have one or the other promotion going on always. I found the exact shade of neutral I was looking for with a bonus blast of other colors for $8.50 ! The size of each color is smaller compared to my usual, but considering my eye shadows always get discarded due to expiry date, I think I prefer these smaller ones. The staff is super friendly. I had 2 people come up to me to help for the 10 min I was there. So, I got it, but could not use it as it did not come with a brush- not even disposable. Speaking of orange, the girls (and Barbie) (and I) in here are so tanned, that it must be from a lot of Ulta-violet light. I have no Ulta-rior motives when I say Ulta is the greatest make up store in the country. Often with goddesses as employees and beauty queens as customers. Myself included (tosses hair). If it wasn't for Ulta I don't know what Barbie would do about looking pretty AF because she swears by them and we've probably been to a hundred different locations together. I crane my neck so hard looking at the beautiful girls in here when Barbie is shopping, that I think I tear my Ultarior Ligament. They make me so excited I get a stomach Ulta. I would never change or Ulta this store at all. This one is located in the middle of the Pearland shopping plazas, just East of 288, close to a lot of other shopping centers. We come here regularly when we are in Pearland so that Barbie can get some decent sexy makeup at decent mid-range prices. She loves all Ulta stores and this one is no different. The makeup here is good and the service is not bad. We will give it a five-star rating in future if a few things improve, for example if they had everything she wanted every time she comes, or if they had truly wonderful service, so far it's been good not great on both counts, but it's definitely pretty decent, and definitely deserves four stars. Definitely the overall best makeup store in the country and you'll find them all over the place - in strip malls, big malls, and even standalone sometimes... and they're always worth a visit. Some are better than others - especially in terms of staff and organization, and the prices are usually consistently good... and they're usually in nice areas too. They're the Ulta-mate make up store. I love them like no Ulta. I would never Ulta a bad word about Ulta. I can't imagine that any of the Ulta-rnatives would be as good. read more

I was recently there for 3 hair cuts. First of, the place was busy like they were cutting hair for free. The woman who cut my daughters' hair had short pink hair. I'm not sure if she is new but she butchered my daughter's thick hair . I told her to take only two inches off, she cut at least 5 inches saying that is what my daughter wanted. Then she cut another thick layer to give it a long layer look. I was about to cry but I kept a straight face for my daughter. She didn't even wet their hair!!. ‍. Super disappointed. I understand, hair grows but working as a full time mom, it's not easy to take time out and drive 20 minutes for a haircut and have it ruined. My other daughter didn't want to have it cut too short, so it looks fine, thank god! And the woman who cut my hair, you can't even tell if she did anything. I've shopped here occasionally, but over the past year or so, I have been coming here for the salon services. I have had my makeup done at this location a few years ago as well as another location in Austin and they did a great job. I don't know if they are currently doing make up sessions (it was obviously on hold during the pandemic) but I get my hair done on a regular basis and my stylist does a great job. I neglected my hair care during the pandemic (as a lot of us did), so when I felt comfortable going in to get my hair done, my stylist helped me transition from relaxers to keratin treatments. It is pricey, but it is worth it. I had a lot of breakage from not taking care of my hair and it has gotten so much better over the past year. The one downside is that there seems to be issues when trying to schedule online. I usually call or schedule in person. My stylist is usually running behind so that can be annoying if I'm in a hurry. A few times, I have scheduled an appointment, then during the confirmation call, the person tells me my appointment is at a different time (it could vary from 30-60 minutes from the original time that was scheduled). I don't know if the system is glitchy or if my stylist is changing my appointment and not notifying me until the day before my appointment, but it's annoying, especially when I have other plans or errands I need to run that day. If you go to the salon on a regular basis, it's very easy to accrue points which can be used on products or future salon services. One time, I was able to use points to save over $50 off of my salon service. So I really do enjoy that. They have a lot of different brands and products, but they don't have Kera Kare or Mizzani so I have to get those from other places. I like Ulta and I'm willing to pay more for the salon, but it would be great if they can fix the scheduling issues. read more

It's almost time for wash day so went to stock up on some natural hair care products. The staff doesn't acknowledge you when you walk in the door. I walked pasted at least four employees before I was even acknowledged. One only employee that spoke to me and asked if I needed help was pleasant but it shouldn't have taken five employees to be asked that. The store is like most ulta's, light, bright and clean. I had a little trouble finding out which products to use and buy. Some of the product on the shelves was used or damaged (in the black hair care area). A clay hair mask and a bottle of shampoo were opened and spilled a box to a hair brush was torn. You would think to remove these items. Bad customer service and lack of inventory of what I need is enough to be sure I won't return to this location. read more

I scheduled an appointment at the Pearland Ulta Salon because my usual stylist was on vacation. I wanted a shampoo and conditioner with a silk press. At the time the appointment was scheduled, I was not given a name of the stylist (since this would be my first visit, I didn't know anyone there). So upon arrival on appt. day, I was told to have a seat because the stylist that would be doing my hair had not arrived yet. After about 10 minutes, a young lady approached me and asked my name. I told her and she said she would be my stylist. She never introduced herself. First offense!!! Then she asked me to place my belongings in her chair so that we could go back to the shampoo area and proceeded to shampoo my hair. Worst shampoo I've ever had. Second offense!!! She asked if I'd like a deep conditioner and told me it would be $24 and I said sure. She said she would put the conditioner on my hair with a plastic cap and sit me under the dryer for 25- 30 minutes. After about 15 minutes under a barely warm dryer, she comes to get me to wash out the conditioner. Third offense!!! Then she dried my hair with a blow dryer and flat ironed my hair. Nothing remarkable there. The styling was atrocious and I could not get outbid the chair fast enough. She walked me to the register to pay and gave me a card, as if I would ever go to her again. Finally, I see her name (Demetria or something like that). Then, the final blow was the cost, $103. For that mess. I felt like I had been robbed. Now normally, I'm a big tipper, but I really didn't want to leave her a dime. I did though. Only $10. That all I could allow myself to give her. But I am still so pissed that I wasted $113 and had to go home and restyle my hair. I know there are other stylist at this place , but this girl was horrible and I'm never going back. Arrived 10 minutes before the scheduled appointment- no greeting or acknowledgement from any of the associates until after waiting at least 10 minutes (I had to let someone know that I was there for an appointment and even after there was no sense of concern or urgency to let me know that the brow person was late, but rather "she should be here any minute". Worst experience ever. I went here to get my hair dyed pink, see reference picture. I started out with red hair, see before picture. The lady who did it seemed annoyed that I had so much hair saying that next time I need to let them know when schedule. However I did let her know that I have super long and thick hair and that I was trying to dye it pink. The lady on the phone assured me that the lady she scheduled me with was the best at dying color and that she has been dying her own hair for 9 years. The stylist started by bleaching my hair and the bleach took very well and then colored it at the sink, while blow drying it at the mirror I noticed that it was very orange so halfway through I stopped her and said that I wanted it more pink so we went back to the chair and she added more purple when we went back to the mirror it was the exact same color, just now adding pink splotches all over. She kept going on and on about how it looks so good the exact color that I asked for and I kept letting her know it wasn't what the picture looked like. I was now too self-conscious to correct her any further because I had already tried and failed once. They proceeded to charge me $300! Of course my anxiety got the better of me and I paid the $300 plus another hundred dollars worth of products that she recommended. Decided to shop here because they have curbside pickup and at the time, much closer than the Ulta location I usually frequent. However, I don't recommend this location at all. They seem to be very unorganized. What should have a been a convenient and seamless pickup, turned into an inconvenient and annoying ordeal. I placed an order for pickup this morning at 9:36am. I received a text at 11:12am that the order was ready for pickup. I pulled up right in front of the store, put the hazard lights on, and checked in via the link sent to me via text at 3:20ish pm. By 3:38 my order still had not been brought out so I called the store and informed the associate that I had checked in and had been sitting outside for awhile. The associate on the phone apologized and said she would bring it right out. I could see from outside where I was parked, that she was looking for my order for a good five minutes plus before walking off. Obviously because she couldn't locate it. At 3:45 my order still had not been brought out. At this point I was highly annoyed and was just simply going to go into the store to retrieve the order, but realized I didn't have a mask on me so instead called the store again. I could see a different associate answer the phone and she assured me that she would bring my order out in two minutes, which turned out to be longer than that. She stated that there was a glitch in the system "supposedly" and that she would include some free products for the inconvenience. The "free"products turned out to be for Caucasian or non coarse type hair, so of course totally pointless and useless to me. How an order that was said to be ready at 11:12 ends up missing and not being able to be located by 3:20ish is beyond me. I highly recommend making the trek to a different Ulta or Sephora store and saving yourself the trouble. read more

I can't say I am wowed - but when I want to buy some things and don't want to spend $50 to get free shipping, a trip here does the job. I am a makeup junkie these days and just about have to have every new thing that's out - ULTA definitely gets the job done. In my most recent visit, they actually helped me NOT make a mistake and buy something I thought I really wanted but the color would never work out on me. I went to check in and the receptionist told me she had called multiple times and left multiple messages that the person was on vacation. Every time I come to this location it's always something. From poor customer service, lack of coverage so ridiculously lines, or staff giving invalid information. and today a combination of the last two. I came in looking for a few palettes to gift my sister's from various brands. I had a bag with several products in it and after asking a beauty advisor for help (because clearly no one was helping anyone in the store as other customers were also looking for assistance), she convinced me to get a Juvia's place palette because they were BOGO Free. She goes on to ask if I've ever used the brand before and i have and we actually have a mini conversation about it. A pleasant surprise to me as my sister sent me a photos of one of the exact palettes, I diligently return each of the other palettes to their respective counters and get a few of the Juvia's Place palettes instead. I wait in the long line to check out there were 6 people in front of me and at least 4 behind me, with 1 cashier at the register, only for her to tell say they weren't on sale. I took my daughters in today to get her hair straightened. Today was her Prom. Within a minute I looked up and saw my daughter crying. The stylist said she had lice and could not continue. My daughter told her she has bad dandruff. my daughter was embarrassed and I just walked out. I had a neighbor come look at her hair and she found no lice. I looked myself and only saw the dandruff. I am very disappointed at how the stylists handled this. Prom is supposed to be memorable but unfortunately she will always be remembered if the embarrassment she went through.
