Mostly because they did not notate giving a flu shot to me. And when I asked about other testing it caused great contention for me and for my experiences with them. Ultimately this is the worst run healthcare I have ever been to.

You will not get to see the "real doctor". Wouldn't you expect the MD of the office to personally do your first exam and then pass you off to a PA?? I did! Silly me! It's that time of year some pilots can get nervous about. I was recently referred to Dr. Dykema…read morefrom another local AMEs office that was booked too far out for my situation. The TPC (ThePilotCenter.com) website is really easy to navigate, and booking on their portal website Vagaro.com was simple. I was relieved to see there was plenty of availability, and could have managed a same day appointment (but I don't procrastinate when it comes to that First Class). Now what sets this office apart is their communication. Appointment confirmation when booked, a few days out I received an email and text to confirm, and the day before almost like a checklist to make sure I didn't forget any important documents (pilots love checklists). During the appointment the office visit was seamless and very efficient with little to no time wasted. Before I knew it Dr. Dykema was ready for me to head back. All of the same exam items one expects for a First Class (this time including an EKG because getting old sucks). The price is very reasonable and receipt was no problem for reimbursement from the airline. In the end, absolutely no reason to be nervous. I had a great experience, and expect you to have the same.

I wasn't impressed with this office AT ALL. When I showed up no one was at the front counter, the…read morewindow was closed and there wasn't a sign-in sheet for the doctors, only the lab. I stood there, confused, and looking around as a lady behind the glass basically stared at me for a good couple of minutes before she asked if I needed anything. SO weird. Once a different lady finally came up, she checked me in and I waited... For some reason I had my appointment in my calendar for 7:30, but it wasn't until 8:15 so I figured owell, at least I'm early. I was definitely the first patient there and wasn't seen until well after 8:15. My point being, if you're a later appointment I imagine you will have some wait time, but who knows. One thing I didn't like was that my doctor wrote me a sheet to get blood work done, which they said they could do there in the office. I walked over to where they do that sort of thing and asked the gal if their lab (Labcor) is covered under my insurance. They said they had no idea and that they will do the blood work, and that Labcor will bill the insurance. Meaning if it's not covered I would be stuck with a pretty large bill and they didn't seem to care at all. I had to step out and call my insurance first to be sure. That whole scenario was kind of shady and I feel for people who wouldn't think to ask this question and blindly assume it's covered because the doctor is in the same building. Anyways... The whole vibe of this office seemed 'lazy' and customer service was definitely lacking. Going to see what happens with the next couple of things I need to take care of and the results, etc. but I'm really not sure if I'll be making this my PCP office after all.
