Based on Yelp, I've checked in 18 times, but I've probably actually visited more than that! Just like most of the other stores in this shopping center was such a great store pre-pandemic. Fortunately, they seem fully staffed. Customer service is always hit-or-miss, mostly miss. The store itself looks very clean and fully stocked. In the past, most of the cosmetics had testers, but I believe they are no longer available for non-prestige items. There have been times were customers open the non-prestige items to test, and then the item either is marked as damaged or may be marked as clearance. It looks like they removed some aisles...or moved them... to accommodate the large Benefits Brow Bar. I didn't see anyone there, so not sure if we need to inquire at the checkout or just stand there until someone acknowledges us. This time, my visit was strictly for replenishing my makeup items, so I ordered via the app and went to the pickup counter. I simply told the employee that I placed the order and picked up the item because I needed to make sure I selected the correct color...she showed a bit of an attitude saying I need to wait about 15 minutes. In the meantime, she went to help other customers. Once she returned, she was a bit nicer. Parking is not an issue as there is plenty in front of Ulta and for the neighboring stores. read more

I went to this Ulta last week to get my hair done. I was getting a keratin treatment. I spoke with someone over the phone before hand and was told it would be $234. When I arrived at Ulta the hairdresser looked at my hair and said, "Oh it's going to be 350." I was trying to understand how she went up 116 more dollars. She said it was because she would be using more product on my hair and that's why it would cost so much. However, I ended up going to a different Ulta. There I paid $234, and no extra product was used. read more

I stopped into the store today and had the pleasure of meeting Sara. She tried some excellent products on me which I purchased. The first person I ran into afterwards Was someone I see almost every day. He told me that I looked fresh today. I came out of there looking years younger and feeling so good thank you Sara. Unhelpful customer service. I called ahead and asked if they had a curling iron in stock and they did. When I went to check out and use the discount code that is on their website for 20% off they wouldn't honor it nor would they allow me to use my other 20% off coupon from my email that just expired a day ago. They didn't care at all. Manager was on the phone while she was trying to talk to me and was just unprofessional and rude. Not helpful and it was disappointing. I have been a customer of this salon for over 15 years. I come in regularly and always receive exceptional service. Today was no different in that regard. However, I couldn't help but notice and be impacted by the unprofessional manner in which the store manager addressed my hairstylist as she was greeting me and getting me settled for my appointment. It was unclear as to why she had to address her in that very moment, but her tone reflected that of a parent disciplining a child, which I found to be extremely degrading and contrary to what Ulta is supposed to represent. No one should be subject to such behavior in their workplace. read more

MY EXPEIRENCE WAS HORRIBLE! I had gone to buy some products for a photoshoot. I had asked a lady , " Excuse me where's the-" and she had shushed me. I replied with a sorry she has had said. "Oh my goodness humans these days" Later on a fan came up to for a picture and all the sudden she was nice. Kept on asking me questions at were just weird such as, " Where you going to after Ulta''? or " What's your favorite icecream flavor" When I was saying to myself where the fenty beauty con- , the next thing you know the contour is in my hand. Another customer had come up and asked the lady where this product was. She had also shushed her. I finished shopping and I over heard the worker say " Let her have it all for free shes famous" the worker said " No we can't do tha-" the worker screamed in her face " DO WHAT I SAY" , as she stormed off. The other worker told me to pay and act like i didn't. I also bought a 400$ gift card for the other girl who got shushed. So that was my expeirence. read more

The customer service used to be terrible before covid. A group of employees would just stand around, stare at the customers and gossip. The past year I've been coming here, the employees have been friendly and helpful. I'm giving a shout out to Jada who helped me the last time!! She's sweet & knowledgeable. The salon was running behind - the receptionist did not mention how long the stylist was behind (she was doing both my hair and my sister in law's) before leaving her post permanently. In an open concept layout, I went to look where the stylists' were in regard to being finished. The other stylist had started coloring hair and wouldn't be helping us - which I didn't know. I walked away to shop, only to come back to my soon to be stylist bad mouthing me for looking/gauging how far along they were. The other stylist also agreed that I had done something egregious and wrong. My sister in law and I were just standing there waiting and she became annoyed, asking if we were her next appointments and then said we could sit and wait - nasty tone and attitude. I don't have an issue with running behind, especially during the holidays - but communication is key. Understanding of customer service is also helpful. Simply saying we are running 15-20 minutes behind, would have helped, instead of trash talking your customers. read more

I made a purchase at Ulta today. when I returned home, I realized I had bought the wrong item. I returned to the store, with my receipt, and the unopened item and was denied a refund because I do not have an Ulta rewards membership! The back of the receipt states " returns are easy" as long as you have your receipt, no membership needed. I called Ulta and they told me I should have been given a refund. Needless to say I will never shop Ulta again! BUYER BEWARE!!! read more

I took my daughter (9) for a haircut with Aaliyah this evening. She did a beautiful job with the cut and blowout. She invested a few minutes before she washed her hair looking at the ends and texture. She then suggested a lovely cut that was very age appropriate. For $25 + tip it was a great deal. We will definitely return for future cuts with Aaliyah. read more

This is a review of the salon. Had an appointment for express color. Reached there on time and wasn't greeted. The hairdresser was busy with another customer and I asked her how long it would take. She pretended she didn't hear me and wasn't apologetic for running late. Waited 20 minutes only to find out they didn't have my hair color dye- black. Waste of time. Expected better from Ulta. Won't be returning. Giving 2 stars as the hairdresser apologized in the end. read more

I was last minute & she was still able to squeeze me in on a busy day. My blonder highlights turned out perfectly, & she was even able to take out the red tones out of my 10 month old box dye job. I came shopping for gifts with my aunt, it was not busy but we did find what we were looking for, except the lack of respect from associates with the clients, like not assisting on time. Also the checkout was quick but we notice there was lady who had a disability and the staff was laughing at how she was talking, so when we left I guess they helped her but it was very uncomfortable to watch staff being disrespectful judging someone and not knowing they have an actual disability. The staff was all girls working in the registers, woman will never respect each other and brace each other cuz the respect is so low. read more

I went in for foundation and to quickly return a product (returns are quick and easy BTW w/ receipt). I left with a full face of makeup due to the incredibly nice It Cosmetics artist. She not only found me my foundation solution but continued to do an entire look with products that would help my dry skin. Never did I feel pressured to purchase the products but ended up leaving with two products focused more on skincare than the makeup. She was patient, fun, and very knowledgeable. I could have easily walk away spending $200+ if I didn't rain myself in. read more

The staff here is incredible! I forgot to put on mascara one day and stopped by on my way to work. Tragically they were out of stock of my tarte lights camera splashes!!!! I was just so Sad and figured I'd get a travel size to use for now. A few employees started asking me what I needed in a mascara and then went on a hunt for a great mascara that suited my needs. I don't often wear make up, so I made an appointment several weeks ago to have my make up done for a wedding. When I showed up, my appointment was not registered in their log even though I had an appointment card. On top of that, the person who had come into to do appointments had a medical emergency and had gone to the hospital. My heart sank and I am pretty sure all of the blood had drained from my face in realizing that I had an hour to get my make up done and technically no one was available to do it. Instead of saying "sorry, good luck finding some place else", every single person in that store who could help, dropped what they were doing to lend a hand. All of the ladies there seem to have a speciality or an area of make up that they enjoy doing/excel at. They each took turns working on the area that they specialize in to help create my look. We had a lot of fun too! I really enjoyed watching them experiment with different products and bouncing different ideas off one another. They all work well as a team and seem to genuinely care about their work. Along the entire process they kept making sure that I liked what they were doing and that I was comfortable with the way I looked. Everyone is also so upbeat, with a great sense of humor. Overall, they took a potentially bad situation and went above and beyond. I have always had a satisfactory experience at every Ulta I have been too, but the one near South Riding is by far the best. read more

This is my favorite Ulta in the area. Customer service is always great. And this store is well organized and well stocked. But I'm writing my review today to talk specifically about one of their lesser known features: a full service salon located at the back of the store. Most Ultas seem to have in store salons, but they often go unnoticed because customers drop in to buy products and then leave. Anyway, look into Ulta for hair and/or makeup services if you haven't before. Full hair and makeup for an event is around $100 (more for updos and lashes) and there's no pressure to buy any products. Yesterday I saw Kiza and she was wonderful. She listened to the look that I was going for and explained what she was doing along the way. I was going for tousled hair and natural makeup. She gave me exactly that. She used a curling iron to give me waves, but being perfectionist she later used a straightening iron just to curl in the ends to get the shape she wanted. I saw her evaluate her work and make adjustments as needed, like ensuring that my winged eyeliner was even on both sides. She contoured and highlighted to bring out my best face features, like my cheekbones, while using color to minimize things like my smaller forehead. I love that she was willing to share tips and tricks with me, so I could try myself at home. I also appreciated that she seemed to think carefully about how to get my desired look. Like she chose not to use heat on my bangs because maybe the effect would be too cutesy? Instead she used product and scrunched to volumize my bangs. She also was a good judge of makeup colors, choosing a foundation shade and eyeshadows that matched my skintone. One thing I would suggest is also thinking too about how you want to look when she asks questions or offers feedback. She said she could tease my crown a little for height, and I would have liked that but forgot to mention it later. So tell her what you want, too. Very happy with my experience and would recommend Kiza for any time that you want to look more polished. read more

I went in for a facial and left with messed up eyebrows: Please advise the manager, Allyson, to take a more professional approach when dealing with clientele. If it wasn't for Jessie, the other manager on duty, I wouldn't consider stepping foot into this establishment again. Truth be told, I wouldn't be that angry or even posting this, if Allyson's lack of professionalism wasn't so flagrant. It is one thing to provide an unsatisfactory service, however, it is another to compound that with a lack of basic respect for a customers time and money. Again, thank you Jessie for resolving the situation. Your professionalism and empathy is appreciated. I called Friday evening and was hoping to get an appointment for the next day around noon. They had a stylist available at 11:30am. Yay! When I arrived at 11:30, Ermine (my stylist) was ready for me immediately. We chatted about what I wanted. I hadn't had a haircut in almost a year, so I simply wanted to even out my hair and get rid of the split ends. I asked for about three inches taken off. She verified that I didn't want layering. She asked if I wanted an undercut for fullness. I hadn't thought about it before walking in, but readily said yes. She washed/conditioned, cut, and blow dried my hair exactly the way I wanted it, and I absolutely love it. I've found my new favorite stylist and salon! read more

I had my hair toned and cut by Pakiza at the Ulta salon and she is amazing. I had a balayage done elsewhere and hated the warmer tones in my hair. Pakiza recommended a glace to cancel out the warm tones and make the bottom look more of an ash brown. I love the way my hair turned out. I showed her pics of how I wanted my haircut and she made it look exactly the same. The customer service was excellent and she gave me great recommendations on how I could keep the color looking fresh! I highly recommend Pakiza! read more

Gorgeous new store that had an AWESOME three day opening, where I was lucky enough to get my hair cut and coloured by a lovely, friendly, super happy and humble master stylist, Nicole Dove, who happens to be the salon manager at the ULTA salon in Manassas. This store and it's staff were a bit busy those three days and needed all the help they could get, so she came in on her day ofAf to help at this location. I'm so glad I came in for a consultation that quickly turned into an appointment :) She is a perfectionist, and she definitely showed that through the amazing job she did on my hair :) I was STOKED!!! It was my first time getting my hair done at an ULTA salon, so I was skeptical, but I'm so glad I went for it and gave them a chance! Overall, great new location, beautiful setup, and I'm so happy it's so close by now! She hinted that I wouldn't be able to return things if I didn't do it and when i pressed her on it she relented, but I shouldn't have to say no thank you, I definitely don't want to multiple times. I'm a little annoyed about my Ulta beauty service appointment. First off, I could tell I was one of my hair stylist's first appointments. She was so young and seemed nervous. Secondly, after cutting my hair she asked how I wanted it styled and I asked if she could just blow it dry with a little curl, something that I've done to my hair myself as a non professional many times. She continued to tell me my hair refused to curl and recommended using a hot tool for an additional $30. I said no and just to dry it however it would dry. When she was finished drying it, I saw her plug in a straightener and she said "I'm just going to put some waves in it," thinking this was complimentary since I already denied the $30 hot tool service. I got my bill and was still charged the $30 service even though I denied it and my hair still did not even look good. read more
