It's also worth noting the little "extras": it's always a fun & entertaining place to visit, a triple shampoo (with head massage), cotton swabs for the ears, and eyebrow trimming. Finally, Annie is extremely customer-oriented and one of the friendliest owners/stylist I've ever met. First, I'm from out of town and checked google maps for haircut salons in the woodlands. Annie's popped up and somehow had almost 5 stars on there. DO NOT LISTEN TO THOSE REVIEWS. Either very biased and made by regulars or made by the owner herself. There is absolutely no way this place deserves anywhere near 5 stars. Second, I call in to make an appointment for 530 pm and Annie picks up the phone. She tells me she is already booked for 530 pm but if I can make it there in 15 min (at 515 pm) she can get started and finish up her other client's hair before she finishes mine. I drive across the woodlands and get there in exactly 15 min in order TO WAIT OVER AN HOUR. She failed to tell me she was already in a 5 pm appointment and didn't have time to "start my hair cut". Third, after finally getting seated at around 620 she starts to ask me what I want with my hair. After I begin explaining, she proceeds to apologize and go work on another woman's hair for 10 MINUTES while I sit in the chair. There was another stylist there, but she insisted that she take over and finish off the other client's hair cut. Fourth, after awkwardly waiting in this chair for her to finally begin my haircut, she finally finishes up and comes back to me. At this point I'm pretty irritated due to the fact that it's 630 pm and I called in at 5 pm for an appointment at 515 pm and she's just starting on my haircut. After very specifically telling her what I want again (I've been getting the same haircut for years and it's pretty easy/generic) she tells me that she does this all the time and not to worry. After finishing the sides, which I had to correct her probably 3 times on how I wanted them, she asked what to do on the top. I tell her to shorten it and to thin it A LITTLE. She then proceeds to thin my hair like there's no tomorrow. After I ask her what she's doing, she says -that it will look better if I keep it longer and have it thinned a lot (COMPLETE OPPOSITE OF WHAT I WANTED). My hair grows back very fast so I don't like to keep it extremely long. My hair literally looked like an Afro after this haircut and I'm visibly upset saying she thinned it way too much. Annie literally GIGGLES under her breath and tries to tell me "oh it looks so good on you". I have never come close to going online and writing a poor review about a business, especially a haircut place. BY FAR THE WORST HAIRCUT IVE EVER GOTTEN. DO NOT COME TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT.

Despite that, I still had to wait for them to contact FedEx, and the claim wasn't filed until 08/04/25. I was told my replacement would ship earlier this week, and while it did ship on 08/11/25, I was never sent tracking information and there was no follow-up from the company. I had to reach out multiple times just to get updates, which made an already long wait even more frustrating. While they did ultimately send a replacement as a "courtesy," the entire process took over two weeks from the time I reported the issue, and the lack of proactive communication left me feeling like my concerns weren't a priority. I hope Mathis Salon and Spa improves their customer service follow-up and communication, because customers shouldn't have to chase down updates for orders they've already paid for.

Based on the screenshot of the services she chose her total should've been $122 including tax. So imagine my frustration when I learn that her total is $137 so I call her while she's still at the salon and ask and she was told those prices online are just starting and basically incorrect. The prices never indicated start at which of it weren't the actual price it should've indicated that and then she said those are the prices for French on a pedicure when that's is also not what she chose and what's indicated. I think the lack of transparency in the pricing is wrong and honestly feel like they took advantage of her. For most businesses the price that you list for your services on your website or booking page should be accurate it is your responsibility as a business owner to make sure it is and not mine as a customer. If something requested is an additional cost then I should be made aware BEFORE the services are provided. I will not allow anyone on my household to return and if asked if I recommend the answer is a resounding NO. I don't mind paying for services but I don't feel like I should overpay because your site doesn't accurately reflect the pricing and making it worse with a poor excuse, being flippant about it and not correcting it. I'm sure me no longer patronizing their business won't make a difference but I hope 1. They adjust the way they do business and 2. This doesn't happen to anyone else. Now I'm more pissed I'm looking at her receipt and she was charged $4 more in her pedicure than the listed price and she asked and they said because her feet are medium sized. I was happy to discover that some 10 years later this location still exists. I called and Jess managed to get me in at 5 she listened to my needs and wants and began to cut away. Jess did an exceptional job on my hair! I left the salon loving the cut and knowledge of how to maintain the look on my own. Jess was also very informative about my questions for coloring options on my hair and Brazilian blowout to avoid the Texas frizzy season. Thank you Jess for such wonderful service

First mistake. She did not know what she was doing, she was calling Jess on how to proceed on coloring my hair. She left an orange ring on my head.. My hair is dark brown/black and I wanted a brown violet/red. I lost 3 hours during my first visit because I was told to come back another day so Jess could do it herself. .. I don't understand why she wasn't there the first time Fast forward I come back on a Friday. To be there from noon all the way up until 8pm. Yes. 9+ hrs The process was never explained to me until after she messed up and I had to come back a third time. Jess left around 4 pm to get chick fil a and left me in a chair for over an hour. She finishes at 8 pm - charges me 400+ 2 days later.. my hair looks like a hot Cheeto. I texted Jess to let her know I need to come back and she stalls!!! She kept pushing the time. Saying she was only free after 9 am, then saying 8 am was good. She ends up getting there after 10 am. I also brought a close friend who she rudely shut down and told her she wouldn't be speaking to. When I brought her because I needed the support. She sits me down and dyes my hair. Has me sign a liability waiver and doesn't blow dry or straighten my hair bc I had to step away to take a work call and I come back and she's with another client- she never said sit down I'll have another lady do it- no, she completely ignores me This lady has known my family for years.. Extremely Disappointed - Be Cautious with This Location…read more I've been a loyal Amazing Lash Studio client for over 10 years, visiting various locations across Houston, and I've never had an experience like this. I scheduled an appointment on Thursday and received a reminder text--but noticed it was for the wrong location. I immediately called to cancel and assumed everything was taken care of. When I went to the studio that i tented to do my lashes with today, I was told at checkout that I had no credits available, even though I knew I should have one. The front desk associate was kind enough to help and called my home office studio to figure out what happened. That's when I found out the original (wrong) location marked me as a no-show and took my $70 credit--even though I had called to cancel. Apparently, whoever answered the phone at that studio didn't properly document the cancellation. That mistake cost me my credit. I was shocked to learn that they would take a payment without confirming or at least calling me to clarify. This is not how you treat a long-time client. It's completely unacceptable and reflects a serious lack of accountability. I'm very disappointed and cannot recommend this location to anyone. Be very cautious--they will take your money without resolution or responsibility.
