This was my first time here and I was a bit nervous since I have never been to a proper salon before, but Coral was so sweet and walked me through each step that she was doing to my hair. She made great recommendations based on the shape of my face and length of my hair. I felt very comfortable with her as my stylist as I was trying something new (long curtain bangs!) and she was very reassuring the whole time ("let's cut it long, we can always go shorter"). I got my hair washed, cut, and styled for $67, which I think is totally worth it. Very relaxing and Coral was great. Very talented. I then was on the hunt for a salon that could fit me in on my day off so I go to yelp to help me find that salon. I was able to get an appointment with Jazmine on the day that I needed it for. I was desperate!! I waited to long and was unable to get an appointment with the person I usually go to and, needed to find someone in the area to do a Highlight and Haircut. Due to time constraints I was able to meet and have the pleasure of having two of the stylist at this salon work on my hair. I cannot tell you how happy I am I made this decision. I was right on time for my appointment but had to wait on stylist to finish doing her own hair before she could start on mine. I literally didn't even get close to the haircut I asked for probably because she was running behind and had her next client already waiting for her. We might've had more time had she started on time. She mentioned that they try to keep the appointments to 45 minutes each so maybe it's management's strict rules' fault and not her's. She didn't do a bad job so I didn't complain but it simply wasn't what I asked for. Let me start by saying this is my first review on Yelp, and I'm glad it's for this reason. I know I'm not alone in saying I've had more than a little difficulty with finding a salon worth sticking with. I've been burned by many stylists in my life. So I was very nervous and apprehensive in settling on a salon I didn't find through word of mouth. I have extremely thick hair. When I say extremely, I mean just that - EXTREMELY. (Majority of my past stylists have complained about it, even with thorough forewarning.) It's also quite fine and moderately curly. But there is a LOT OF IT. I searched reviews of salons around my area, and proceeded to read basically ALL OF THEM. In my research, I came across one for Studio Salon where a woman said she also had problematically thick hair and Jimmy knew just what to do with it. My instinct told me she knew what she was talking about. People, she was right. Jimmy was kind, accommodating, and incredibly personable. He's also a wizard with the shears. He gave my worn out and neglected hair new life. The cut took so much weight out, while still keeping it full. I am in love. It is sleek and even my fiancé kept saying how it just fits my face so well. He is also very adept at color. I have never done blonde streaks or vibrant auburn, and was nervous, but I had no cause to be. He knew exactly what he was doing. He recommends realistic product and is incredibly knowledgeable about the ins and outs of hair structure, technique, product, and overall care. I would recommend him to ANYONE. He is such a sweetheart. He really is. Also, Donna - the receptionist - is a sweet woman. She listened to my schedule and worked with Jimmy to fit me in less than two hours later. Loved loved loved my experience at The Studio Salon! They took me in last minute and were wonderful. Coral got me ready for summer by cutting off 7+ inches of hair. I came in with an idea and Coral perfected it. At one point she asked before cutting my bangs, "do you trust me" and I didn't hesitate to say yes for a second because her confidence and obvious eye for detail made me feel confident that she'd make me look good! My wonderful experience was with Angela. I was referred to her by a friend. I am very cautious with my hair and was very nervous to change to a new stylist. From the start i got a good feel from the studio. Then when i met Angela i knew right away i was in good hands. Let me start off by saying that I am giving this salon five stars for an amazing hair stylist they have on staff, Shay Hessong. The salon is quaint and they offer coffee and such. My biggest complaint is the front desk staff, they never seem to know what's going on and can be rude and dismissive. However, my hair experience has always been pleasant with Shay. She is amazing and has taken my from blonde to gorgeous reddish brown and back to blonde. If you're looking for amazing cut and color, she never fails! I struggled with writing this review. I recently moved to the Kingwood area and decided to try Studio Salon based on the reviews. I asked for a color and cut, style. My color was not what I wanted. I wanted platinum and got a brassy blonde. My stylist, Jimmy, said he wasn't sure if he could do it and I should have left then so I will take responsibility for not making a break for it. I have not had a problem in the past going platinum but did see a very experienced colorist. The cut is good just not anything close to what I wanted. I had a picture and specifically told Jimmy I did not want my front cut however he cut the front and it's much too short. The style was just sad and I was embarrassed to even stop on the way home to pick up a few groceries. The staff was very friendly and actually tried to give Jimmy ideas on how he could get my hair the color I wanted. Rachel was the stylist next to me and did some amazing work while I was there.
