I was burned during treatment at Renaissance Academie last year. A year later, I am still scarred. The teachers, who are licensed professionals, handled the situation horribly. The one who was present at the front desk when I was charged for my service of burns told me that she had seen this happen before. Then I was later told the school had never had this happen before. I believe the state requires first aid training in curriculum and licensing. I received no cool compress. I received not a single bandage or sterile covering for my open wounds to protect the skin from bacteria and infection. I had to get oral and topical prescription antibiotics. If proper first aid basic care is not a state or accreditation requirement for licensed esthetics teachers, it should be. I think licensed professionals trained in skin care, and educating others in skin care, should know the difference between intact skin and open wounds. Based on my experience and encounters with the teachers and their poor handling and advising in the situation, I would personally be concerned about who is teaching or supervising service.

Anyhow, so I have read about "Deva Curl" and found one in Salt lake, I didn't bother checking Utah county just coz I t didn't think there's one. So I went to one in Sugarhouse and didn't like the experience. The people were unprofessional and they charge too much. So long story short, $250 after I was disappointed, didn't like the cut but sure the hair looked nice after all the Deva Curl products but that is it. So I went back to my 'the right hair stylist' search again and looked at the Deva Curl website to look for Dev certified stylist in my area and guess what,,, I found MyCurlyHairStylist! So I decided to give it a try. Sion is extremely down to earth, she levels with you and tries to understand your needs and most of all realistic. Realistic in a sense, yeah after going to a salon your hair looks awesome but how can you recreate it yourself when you're home doing your own hair. She's very thorough and the best part of all is the price. Let me tell you this, the Deva Curl-certified in SLC charges $125 for a hair cut and shampoo and Sion charges $60. That place in SLC sells Deva products and she said they sell them at "wholesale price" (sure!) for $26 and Sion charges $12. I'm definitely not going back there and will go to Sion going forward. She's not going to tell you what to do or what to buy. I told her I want to change my hair, she asked my lifestyle, schedule and routine. Makes total sense, her suggestions were very realistic based on what she knows about me. She made me feel so welcome. As soon as I was done I told my husband "I finally found my person that I can trust my hair with". I'm extremely picky so me saying that is a big deal. I definitely recommend Sion. If you're hesitant to have someone touch your hair, trust me, Sion is worth a try.

She discussed my skin, made recommendations, and checked in to be sure everything was going well throughout our session. The pricing is extremely reasonable and easily as good as facials I've paid triple that amount for. I would definitely go again for facials (ask for Rebeka before she graduates!) or I'd try other services also.

I called less than 10 minutes after leaving and being overcharged and asked for a polish change ans they said I lied by saying they were ok. they asked if I liked them after 2 hours being stuck there ans I said "sure" so they will not change the color. Do not go here because they do not fix their mistakes.
