I had the BEST experience at Ulta in South Gate thanks to Marycruz and Laura! From the moment I walked in, they were so welcoming and attentive. Laura took her time helping me find the perfect foundation shade and when I say perfect, I mean PERFECT match. She really listened to what I wanted and made sure it blended flawlessly with my skin tone. I didn't feel rushed at all. Marycruz also helped me choose a perfume that completely matched my vibe. She asked questions about what I like and helped me find a scent that feels so me. I've already gotten compliments! Both of them went above and beyond with their customer service. I am a Benefit Brow girlie. Recently moved and needed to find a new brow girl that was closer to home. I made an apt same day and was so pleased with my service. She mapped my brows and even held a mirror up and asked me questions regarding how I prefer my brows to be, what that can be in the future with proper tweezing and waxing, and how I personally like them to look. Based on her attention to detail alone I knew I would be pleased. Definitely will be coming back for another cleanup when the time calls for it. read more

Truly disappointed, I scheduled an appointment for my daughter for her 16th birthday for a formal hairstyle and everyday makeup. This was the makeup they thought was OK even though it was patchy it didn't look anything like the inspo photo they made her look way older. She wasn't happy and told the artist that as well they said they would fix it had another artist do her makeup and the same artist that originally was scheduled to do her makeup do her hair. The hairstyle was nonexistent and the makeup that was supposed to be fixed was not she practically had no makeup on. I paid $130 and I had decided to leave my daughter there getting her makeup done since it will take an hour and a half and have her father pick her up since we live near and I had to take my other two daughters home to get ready. when she was done My daughter calls me that she is done and has to be picked up as she's trying to exit the store to wait outside for her father the store employees tell her she cannot leave and hold her hostage inside according to them we never paid the bill. I had paid them 130$ in advance before I left for her hair and makeup and I paid 39 for my hair with a five dollar tip on top of that I was assisted at register six by Jazmine who took my payment but according to them nothing was on record and I had not paid. They had me on hold over the phone for a long time trying to figure it out and refusing to let my daughter leave until my husband showed up, showed them proof of the payment we didn't receive an apology or anything of that sort I'm truly disappointed and disgusted with their behavior. It was supposed to be my daughter special day. They ruined her hair and make up and still accused us of not paying. read more

The associate Anahi is so rude and needs to be trained on customer service skills. she calls me up to the register doesn't say hello just stares at me and says "phone number?" like um yea. then when we're done w the transaction she goes "ok u can go now". Ts is unacceptable for a customer facing role. Booked hair tinsel, arranged my schedule around their availability. The website did not ask for a color selection. Upon my arrival, they did not have the color I needed, they advised they could not do anything and I had to call a location that had the color I needed. The store manager offered to send me elsewhere which again a huge inconvenience. Their system needs to be better for services at locations read more

My daughter wanted some make-up so I took her to Ulta so they could help me because I don't wear makeup. Cynthia was so nice and informative. I came in to exchange a Buxom lipgloss expecting to do an even exchange but the cashier needed some assistance from the manager. The manager Christina approached and she was super professional and polite and helped me with my purchase. She then walked to the front and was greeting customers as they walked in. I found her immediately likeable, with a warm and friendly demeanour. She has a positive attitude and Ulta is very lucky to have her on staff. I usually don't shop in person but I will be back and will recommend this location to friends and family. read more

How did the cost go up to $90 .. and how was that my fault.. when I just asked for the 15$ The new person doing my hair wasn't even aware either about the time. then she said it's going to be 60 then somehow her manager upped it to 90.. weird.. I didn't feel like arguing with them so I paid. Do better. I went in as a walk in for hair services (color & hair cut). I read the prior reviews and was hesitant but because I didn't have availability to go somewhere else I was happy that Ulta was open on a holiday and took my chances. I walked in and an employee directed me to the salon services in the back where Jasmine helped me. I explained to her how I am very particular about my service and showed her my inspiration example. She and Gaby looked through the colors and were able to collectively find the right combination for me. My hair is like a cowboy copper tone. Through out my service Jasmine was friendly. The color was exactly what I wanted and the hair cut was great. I left happy and will likely come back to her. After my hair service I was helped by Giselle in the makeup department. She assisted me with trying on different foundations and concealers to get the perfect shade for my cool tone lighter complexion. I have dark circles under my eyes so I need full coverage and she was able to show me the difference with the different brands. Thank you Ulta for the great service! When arriving at the store we were greeted nicely by one of the employees ( unfortunately I did not catch her name). The experience when shopping was great as usual until I got to the front register. I did not appreciate the service of Andrea (lead cashier). I usually dont shop at ulta or use gift cards there...so I asked if she needed to scan the card or if I needed to swipe...she responded with 'well, did you read the instructions' in a rude manner, which, as someone who works as a cashier as well knows that is an unnecessary statement to make to a customer. I understand the store was closing and it might have a been a long day but I feel like her response and manner charging could have definitely been a lot better. I am from out of town and the store was full of people Christmas shopping but she was so helpful and help me find what I needed also gave great advice and recommendations for the teens . Horrible Experience! I have been to Ulta for a haircut many times and have been pleased with the results and service. I decided to take my daughter for a haircut, we arrived on time for our appointment and was told they would notify our stylist Emeli of our arrival. Was told a couple minutes later she would be with us in 10 minutes. 30 minutes later nothing, I have to ask if they could please find out how much longer we would be waiting, only to be told she was back to back with clients, and that in order for her to be able to attend us she needs to to vacate one of her chairs. So still giving her the benefit of a doubt we wait and once again have to ask how much longer, and told once again that she is only blow drying the clients hair just a few more minutes. Yet I look over to the stylist only to see her applying a newly mixed product to apply the clients hair while the other client is still waiting in the chair to be completed. Spent 40 minutes waiting for a Emeli to be available to attend us, but moreover she did not have the decency to notify me herself of her delay or reschedule me instead. Will never be going back this Ulta or Stylist. I could only imagine the kind of haircut she would have given my daughter in the short amount of time she had left of our appointment time. read more

I'm happy I know how to color match myself because no one helped until I approached them. A male and female worker were too engulfed in their conversation to assist me. And tbh the male coworker was talking about vulgar things and personal conversations that definitely should not be within earshot of customers. We went in today for a haircut for a 10 year old , we had an appointment at 3:45pm was there 15 mins early and waited. When it was almost our turn they told us that unfortunately the stylist we had our appointment with was double booked and if we were okay with having another stylist do the cut. We said yes. Having this hub as my local ulta is unfortunate. And I love ulta over most cosmetic companies. They are amazing with the point system and rewards. However this location is giving Kohl's beauty department vibes. So many floor leads and yet only 2 cashiers. As a former makeup artist I was horrified at the state of almost all products with testers. So unsanitary they need OSHA To come out and slap them around a little. And while I'm looking with disgust at the makeup aisle (prestigious brands ) And noticing an employee working that section is just standing there day dreaming about who knows what,is shocking ! Like ma'am wake up and clean up your section. So Girls do not try any of the makeup from the testers. Imagine all the people who touch it without clean hands. Yikes... The ulta beauty code of business conduct should add some pages regarding cleanliness and client satisfactory. read more

I went into the salon with high expectations! I was recommended by a family member. My appointment was at 5:30 pm and I wasn't seated until 6:00. My stylist didn't bother asking any questions about my hair because she was in such a hurry all she asked for was a picture of what I wanted. I left so unhappy my hair was not at all what I wanted. It isn't even remotely close to what I wanted. On top of that she offered me a coupon for not being able to complete the services I asked for which I didn't even get. She didn't rebook me to finish my services either. I still gave her a tip because I felt bad that she stayed till closing time. read more
