I have gone here a couple of times to get my hair done. Jasmin is my hairdresser of choice. She goes above and beyond to help me get the right cut, the right style, and just takes awesome care of me. She doesn't rush, she listens to me about what I want, and I can't say enough of how much she spoils me. My time there is well spent. The cashier was extremely rude. I purchased a freeze-control hair cream, tried it once, and realized it didn't work for me, so I went back to return it. While I was there, I was also looking for another product that might actually help and came across Ouidad. I noticed that Ulta was selling the 8.5 oz for $26, while Amazon had it for $12.98. When I went to the register to return my item, I asked if they price match Amazon, and I was told no. The cashier then called over a manager to process the return. The manager asked why I was returning it, and I explained that it didn't work for my hair. At that point, the cashier interrupted me in an aggressive tone and said, "Hey, that's not what you told me--you asked for a price check." I calmly clarified that I had asked about a price match for a different product, not the one I was returning. She was very rude and aggressive, and I'm honestly really disappointed with how I was treated. I returned the item completely within store policy, regardless of price comparisons, and the behavior was still unacceptable. read more

Lucero works so well as a teammate with her other colleagues. They all work together seamlessly to help customers. You feel blessed when you interact with Lucero, such a welcoming presence to the store, always going above and beyond to help make the shopping experience a pleasure. The things I've come here, the floors are always filthy with weird stains, clumps of loose hair and dust bunnies built up. Doesn't seem like the place gets cleaned often. Also, the AC must be broken because in the times I've come in after Trader Joe's, it is always sweltering. I see other customers sweat and even some of the employees fanning themselves from the heat. I would rather go to any other Ulta, especially the new one that opened nearby in La Mesa just to avoid this heat problem, which also can't be great for the product themselves. The store itself is nice and clean, well stocked. It wasn't until checking out that we had a horrible experience. The cashier on 2/22/26, her name was AUTUMN, she appeared irritated that we did not want to sign up for the rewards program, she was annoyed that the gift card we wanted to use had to be manually imputed and according her we didn't swipe "correctly". We didn't know why she had such a hostile attitude towards my daughters and I, until she handed us our bag and walked us out of the store, when she assumed because of the color of our skin we spoke Spanish. Maybe she thought she was being funny but it was actually very offensive to wish us a good night in Spanish while the whole interaction was in English. I have been to this Ulta location about 5 times now. I love how convenient this location is and right next to TJs. Each time, the ladies who helped me were efficient, kind and just pleasant to interact with :) Today, Rosie helped me find a concealer that fit my skin tone (I know I would have picked the wrong one myself). She took her time and I got what I needed. Last time I was here, another nice young lady with dark hair helped me in the shampoo section. She also took her time and explained the difference in shampoos and hair types. I will keep coming to this Ulta. The location is the best and the staff rocks. read more

My first experience at Ulta was at the Santee store. The employees are not helpful. They see you looking for help and make a quick turn All they do is chat amongst themselves.
