Rena who checked me out at the register was very rude and snappy with me. I was still very kind to her but I wanted to say something. She was being disrespectful about a return I brought in. She asked if I used the product I said no. She argued with me that it looked used. I assured her I didn't use the product as I accidentally bought the same thing. She says "well there's makeup on the box" I said well either way I was told I can return the product even if I used it. So why even argue with me about it, if it doesn't matter either way. Had a good experience at this Ulta location. I needed to use their Happy Returns service to return shoes to Orthopedic Feet (a great business b.t.w.). I was in line at the checkout with my return package. An associate Kyle saw my package an helped me immediately opening another checkout station. Both polite and accommodating. The young lady who worked there on 11/30 with dark hair around 3 pm was absolutely rude to me and my mother. We asked if we couple sample a couple perfumes and she proceeded to look annoyed. She actually walked away at one point until I told her we planned to buy atleast 2. To say the least, we bought one bc she genuinely looked so annoyed that it made us uncomfortable- we left and continued our shopping at another store. Ulta at Coastal Grand Mall Myrtle Beach has to have the worst customer service of all Ulta's I've been in. I had ordered an item and the deadline to pickup was a Sunday by closing. I knew I would not be able to get there by 6:00 so I called and the employee assured me it would not be put back and I could definitely pick it up Monday. Went in Monday and they could not find my order. Looked in a box and finally found it. She said you can check out at the register so I proceeded to do so. The young lady with the arrogant attitude rang it up but at full price. I told her the lady I spoke with on Sunday assured me I could pick up my item on Monday with no problems. I asked nicely and was told it's no longer on sale so we can only do regular price. I said no problem and told her I wouldn't get it. She said you can open an Ulta credit card and get 20% off and k thought to myself why would I do something as foolish as that because I plan to do my shopping elsewhere moving forward. Ladies, at Ulta Coastal Grand, your arrogant attitudes are certainly unbecoming of the kind of employer I would want representing my company. You look down on customers as if we are not good enough but you may want to think about this. You are working and the customers are paying your salary. Maybe HR needs to have a retraining for all not just new employees. A refresher course in customer service never hurt anyone. First and last time visiting this location on Coastal Boulevard, Brooksville. I went today in the afternoon, around 5pm. There were about 6 employees, 1 helping people and 5 behind the counter. No customer was paying and they completely ignored me. They were talking to each other or busy on their mobile phones. When I asked for help, one of them barely looked at me and said someone would help me but none of them did. The girl who was busy with other customer was the one who finally helped me. We bought the wrong hot rollers. My husband tried to return them the next day. These were unopened in the original box and he had a receipt. The associate claimed she didn't know how to return this item since he didn't have a loyalty card. Huh. That's funny since they took his money and sold him the curlers WITHOUT a loyalty card. The manager Jessica came over and insisted that he couldn't return them unless he gave her his phone number. He refused. The conversation got terse and he reiterated that he was not giving her his phone number; he had a receipt and he did not pay by check. Whatever. The nut job customer in line behind him stuck her nose in the private conversation and started THREATENING my husband. She threatened to call the police...because he wouldn't give out his phone number. FYI: They make schedule IV pharmaceuticals that will help significantly with the embarrassing outbursts, delusions, inability to mind your own business and foaming at the mouth. As for you being a total troglodyte, the cure for that would require a personality transplant. I was outside when this happened. I went in later and told Jessica that it just wasn't her day. Staff should have handled the barking mad customer, called the police on her and protected the customers in the store from her as well. As one can imagine, Jessica didn't appreciate my suggestion and made a dismissive motion with her hand that I should leave. Then the employee standing behind her loudly stated that I was rude. I wouldn't have characterized my behavior as rude at all. I was being insolent. So bottom line. Ulta wants your phone number. Or, rather, they demand it or they won't do business with you. Wonder why that is when an email is just as effective if they need to contact you? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. This is why I shop for beauty products at Nordstrom. I've never been shaken down for my phone number. On very rare occasions when I have a return I am treated with dignity and graciousness. Their stores are beautiful and a pleasure to shop in. We went to the mall day to Christmas shop. My daughter took a friend so they can walk around together. They went to Ulta to shop. They were stopped and asked if their parents were with them. When they told the employee no that her parents were in the mall they were asked to leave because they were under 18. We stopped in and talked to the lady about this issue. She was over apologetic and gave the girls a goodie bag to make up with them. My daughter has their award card and she shops there as much as most grown woman. I visited for the first time after moving to the Myrtle Beach area and needed to Re-fresh supply of my favorites. There was one lone women on sales floor trying to answer everyone's questions and assist 3+ people at a time. I was 4th in line at check out with one person working the check out area who was having trouble with the customers card & called for help. The worst experience in a hair salon, I scheduled an appointment to get my hair done for the Marine Corp ball. My appointment was scheduled at 12:30 per my selection and the text I received. Upon arrival, I find out they changed my appointment time and gave me no update and switched the person I selected also. When I got there the young lady at the register tells me the person that will be seeing me has just started on a client that she's cutting hair on and her hair is still wet. I wait, and after 15 mins I ask for a manager, the manager proceeds to tell me she's the manager of the store not the salon and that she can't help cuz they're system is down. Never once did she ask my issue or try to help me at all. Don't waste your money or time. I arrived on time and was nothing but polite. MYRTLE BEACH MALL LOCATION: this is absolutely the WORST Ulta I've ever been to, and that says a lot. The girls working there act extremely bothered when you ask them where something is, if they can match a shade of foundation.. actually if you ask them ANYTHING. I went there today and asked if someone could help me find a shade I was looking for in an eyebrow pencil. "We're out of everything benefit! Well what product did you need?" And before I could even answer, "YEAH WE ARE OUT OF EVERYTHING." I asked another girl if she could help me find even a sample size of the product, nope. Didn't even try to pretend to look for it. *Spoiler alert* they were not out of everything benefit and I found my shade myself. It's complete crap this is how they treat customers. This is every single trip I make into this store, I leave pissed off from the way these employees talk to you when I am nothing but pleasant. I never leave this store under 100$ and the attitudes I have to deal with each shopping trip is laughable at this point. If you don't like your job, find another. Stuck up is an understatement. Ulta should be ashamed to have these girls treating customers this way, never coming back to this location and will make sure my friends, coworkers, and family steer clear of this location as well. read more

Just stopped in at this location tonight to pick up a few things and I have never been more disappointed in shopping at an Ulta before. I believe the staff was doing or preparing for a floor set change, because their Morphe products were all over the floor and much of the layout of the store had changed, which I do not mind, however, it was difficult to find some of the products that I needed. Once I was able to find the brands that I was wanting to purchase from I noticed that every item that I wanted was sold out, or they didn't have my shade, which is understandable, but this happens every time I come to this particular Ulta. After spending 15 minutes in this store I was becoming very frustrated that nothing that I came to look for was in stock or easy to find. I'd also like to mention that not ONE employee greeted me, or asked if I need any help, and with them doing a floor set or changing the look/sections of the store there had to have been at least 20+ employees working here, which is way more employees than any other time I have been here. This location has never impressed me, and I feel like the staff here is very snooty and unapproachable. After having one of the worst shopping experiences I've had in an Ulta I quickly drove down to the Surfside Ulta location that's not even ten minutes away from this location at the mall where I was greeted immediately upon entering and had TWO employees ask me if I needed help. They ALSO had every single product I was looking for in stock and easy to find and their staff was much kinder to me than the other location. I will never be coming back to this location again. Do yourself a favor, make the trip to the Surfside location, they're much nicer and deserve the business over this location. read more

So, I really needed to get my eyebrows taken care of, they were awful. Went to Costal Grand because I heard there was a threading shop there. It closed So I went over to Ulta. I got my brows done (waxing) by a lady named Rae. I have to say, they are phenomenal!!! Just amazing and on top of that, she gave me suggestions on how to fill them in to get the look I wanted. Would not recommend going to this Ulta. I have came here twice due to visit family. I booked an appointment online to get my makeup done for 5:15pm. Which there was an error popping up on the site...so I gave the store a call once they opened. They verified the appointment for me stating it was at 5:15pm. They gave me a call stating I was 15 minutes late which wasn't the case since my appointment was for 5:15pm. Before I could state that my appointment was for that time....the lady hung up the phone. While talking to the lady at the desk to check in for my appointment she was snappy & had an attitude. I explained to her what happened but of course she didn't seem to care. She refused to accept that she hung up the phone on me with any attitude. After that I felt uncomfortable to continue with my appointment & told them I will go else where. The lady told me to have a wonderful day & once I walked away went to go talk to her co-worker about the incident extremely loud. Which I felt was inappropriate & unprofessional you should not talk about a customer or an incident while that person is still in the store. RUDE! I have never been treated more rudely than when I walked in this store. I had never been in this store so I was trying to figure out where things were. I'm sure any on looker could tell I was struggling. So I'm squatting down to look at the clearance items on a shelf and a very rude and intrusive store associate comes up the aisle bypasses another customer and Bee lines right to me. She throws a shopping bag in my face and says "here's a shopping bag" spins around and walks back up the aisle. The other customer asks if she could have one too. I'm not sure what I was going to put in said shopping bag being I was not having any luck finding what I needed! I didn't have products in my hands I was struggling with. Never once did this associate ask if I was finding everything ok or if she could help me. So I finally make my selections go to the register to pay and my experience just gets worse. There are two associates at the counter. One is helping another customer and A very curt store associate said she could help me, never asked if I found everything ok. She proceeds to ring me up and a woman walks in asking if she could leave her shopping bags and the counter. She gives this woman the "you dumb cow" look leaves me there in the middle of my transaction snatches the woman's bags out of her hands, knocking over everything on the counter. Mind you the other associate was a few steps away from being done with her customer when the lady walked in and she was closer! However I'm left standing there while my associate rudely helped this woman then had to pick up all the things she knocked over! She returns and says nothing except the total. Any other Ulta I've been in they then tell you your points and how much that is in dollars and ask you if you'd like to use it. Yep you guessed it not this one! I told her I'd like to use my points. She corrects the total I slid my Ulta CC she jams the receipt in the bag and hands me my stuff. Never saying have a nice day. I purchased the same things I've been purchasing at Ulta every few months. I always get a sample but nope no sample was even mentioned. I spend over $100.00 every 3-4 months there. I will be thinking long and hard before I go back in that store again. Never have I been treated so rudely. I believe I was treated so poorly because the way I was dressed. I had flip flops, grey cotton capris and a New York giants tee on with my hair in a pony and no make up on. I'm quiet sure when the intrusive associate threw the bag in my face she was making sure I knew she had eyes on me. But please draw your own conclusion. read more
