Ulta in Jacksonville made my hair look and feel so healthy. I started my morning with wanting to blow dry my own hair with a blow dryer that my mom bought (cheap brand). When I started blow drying, I smelled Burt hair!! Yes, that's right, BURNT HAIR!! Yikes!!! I had to find an emergency salon that would take me. I called over 13 places and they were either booked (of course, it was on a Sunday) or closed. I was so happy when I heard they had an availability for my emergency hair mishap. I had Alexis work on my hair. She deep conditioned, cut and did a blowout on my hair. The service was off the chains, amazing and she recommended the deep conditioning for my hair to rehydrate the area that burned off. I felt like a queen after I left the salon. I've gone here twice to get my hair cut and recolored. Both times I have seen Hannah, and I must say she is a genius when it comes to hair! I have always been insanely pleased after my style is done. This last time I came in wanting a color that was really insane but after a consultation with her decided on this look. I wanted Phoenix hair, but being a teacher I knew I would have to change it in a month. Instead we found this look, and she briefly consulted with another stylists there to see how she could do it within my budget, and with the least amount of damage to my hair. The fact that all the stylists there want to make sure the customer always get what they are after, even if they are not directly working on their hair, is always a huge bonus for me. I wish I had a before photo of my hair but totally blanked. I had it colored by her before and it had faded very well. There was about two inches of my root (which is a strawberry blonde) showing. When Hannah was washing the color out of my hair she did tell me that if the bottom part was too dark she would just book me for a correction. How many stylists just offer that? If you're displeased, we will fix it. I honestly wasn't worried though. As you can see, there was absolutely no reason to worry because my hair looks fabulous. Hannah also did a dry hair cut on me, which I always use that as a sort of judge on stylists. I ask for dry cuts for me because I'm usually just after my dead ends being removed. (Any other cut I would likely want it wet then cut.) With dry hair it's much easier to see the dead ends and not cut too much or too little off. A lot of stylists don't do this though, because I think wet it's easier. Hannah totally understood why I wanted dry and has always kept the cut even, even though I have very subtle layering. This last time I spent about four hours with Hannah for this cut, color, and style. The entire time we chatted about everything under the sun. It could have been an insanely long and boring process, but I didn't have to find ways to keep myself entertained. It's always such a joy getting my hair done by her, and I look forward to the next time I go back. If you want amazing hair, do not hesitate to stop by Ulta, and I recommend asking for Hannah. read more

Ok. The salon here is a rip off. I made an appointment, told her what I wanted. She cut my hair dry. Then, after she washed it, I told her she didn't need to blow dry it because I was about to go to the beach. I paid $53 for this. My hair looks no different, except for the amount of fly-aways because of the dry cut. Heads up, I don't have curly hair. I have slightly wavy, very easily manageable hair. I've paid $15 for trims at Ulta before but as soon as I was handed the paper to take to the register, the girls turned away really quickly. Wow. Just wow. read more

My review is about the salon - I've been seeing Michelle there and she is an ANGEL FROM HEAVEN. There is NO ONE else in this area I will trust with my hair or eyebrows. She took my hair up from nearly black to platinum blonde and it looked amazing throughout the entire color correction process. She explained everything to me as we went along and answered all of my questions. I also just got eyelash extensions at my last appointment and I am OBSESSED. Give this woman a raise she is amazing!!! She is the only reason I go there and then I end up buying $300 worth of product while I'm there I would be lost without her. Very disappointed. I have always gone to Ulta to get my eyebrows waxed. I just recently moved to Jacksonville so I was pleased when I found out they had an Ulta and I could continue going there. I made an appointment and when I showed up I was happy to see that my appointment was with the Salon Manager, so of course I assumed that she must be the best of the best... I was sadly mistaken. After getting my eyebrows waxed I got into my car and looked into the mirror so I could get a closer look and I realized that they were uneven, and there were still random hairs everywhere that the wax didn't get. Mind you, at all the other Ulta's I have been too if the wax doesn't get the hair out then they go in with tweezers for you to clean it up, which is what they should be doing when they're charging you $20 plus dollars for an eyebrow wax. So after getting my eyebrows waxed I immediately had to come home and pluck my uneven, unwaxed eyebrows... In conclusion it's not worth it. Just do it yourself and save the money. read more

Omg!! Who hires these people! They are so rude. They are not helpful at all. The girl at the cash register today (mayra) just hands you your bag when shes done with your transaction and stands there jntil you leave. How about saying something like "thank you for coming". I had to ask "am i done? Is my receipt in the bag?". No customer service whatsoever! Is this all of their first jobs?...they didnt have anything stocked, very disorganized, no one available on the sales floor to help customers and the store overall is badly represented. I've personally have never ran into a rude employee, they are always asking if I need help or if I have questions, they're always willing to help. Today I visited the salon for the first time and it was a great experience. Candace did my hair and was really attentive to my needs. She was really friendly and recommended me some hair products. I was introduced to Ulta in the last town I lived in, so I was thrilled to see one at the mall upon our relocation back here! I am not THAT into beauty supplies so all the expensive lines and products are really lost on me, but I was excited that they actually have a Bare Escentuals counter where I was able to test out different colors to make sure I get the right shade (Donna helped me today and was awesome). It's also a great place for all the little odds and ends you'd normally pick up at Target or the drugstore...except the selection is much larger. Since Ulta opened in Jacksonville, I have never been comfortable going in. I'm never, ever greeted. I've never been offered help. I never meet any friendly associates, except for in the salon, which is only because I went to cosmetology school with a few of the past stylists there. I never feel welcomed or feel like it's a warm environment. And if I walk in there without makeup on, forget it. I recently had a birthday coupon for a free gift and it legitimately took me 2 weeks to get the nerve to go in there. I grabbed a few other things and when I handed the cashier my coupon, she looked annoyed and didn't say but 2 words to me...but she had a nice conversation with the lady in front of me. The displays are horribly messy and they're always out of things or they just don't carry them. Went to Ulta in Myrtle as we were there for my daughters dance competition, and needed a lipstick for her. I went into ulta and my hair had a lot of regrowth (so it was brown) but the bottom was like a washed out black BUT IT WAS SUPER HEALTHY AND SOFT! & I wanted a chocolate brown (it's red) and a trim.....so she bleached my hair...then bleached it again and left my color on forever and now it's dry and I literally can't run my hands through it. It was in almost perfect condition when I went in it now feels gritty.....then I get the bill and it's 160$!!!!' Why the heck my hair is above my shoulder!!!! She charged me 57$ to cut my dead ends off & even it out and the rest for the color....she said she wanted to blow dry it to see how it turned out and then charged me for it.....I'm in tears my hair is ruined here's the after & before photo the red nails is after photo nothing crazy just normal hair I'm crying I just wasted so much money (customer service number was so nice & the girl I spoke with could literally be my best friend, the manager is going to contact me in 24-48 hours about my refund) P.s I realize it's not virgin hair and anything could happen BUT she acknowledged that before my hair was done it was in great condition and even had a woman who works in the salon comment how shiny it was & AFTER MY HAIR WAS DONE she said she was having trouble getting her fingers and a brush through it & that I'll need a few conditioning treatments.....she also said she could see the black piece (probably more than one) in my hair that didn't grab the color... read more

My sister went into this location yesterday to do her makeup and hair for an important event she asked the makeup artist for a nice eye and winged liner. Not only did the so called makeup artist not give her what was asked she admitted that she couldn't do the eyeliner because " she only knew how to apply it on herself" the look needed eyeliner. She also wouldn't apply mascara and made my sister apply it in herself. If this was the case my sis yet could have done the job herself. You have no business being a so called MUA charging people $50 when you can't apply eyeliner or mascara. The whole finished product looked a mess. she didn't have luck with the hair stylist either as she asked for a high pony tail and curls and received a hair sprayed mess with one limp curl. I went into this Ulta recently looking to buy a new foundation. When I walked in I wasn't greeted so I went to look for what I needed. I needed help so I walked around the store hoping I'd see someone to ask or someone would see me and ask if I needed help but for 10 minutes I found no one. There was only one person working the register so I didn't want to bother her since she was checking people out. I eventually gave up and left after 30 minutes of being there. Over the span of 3 months, I've gone in about 4 times. Neither of those times was I greeted or asked if I needed help. There was only cashiers, no one on the floor. No one seems to know the coupon rules. A promotion was going on and I was $1 short of the $20 minimum. I asked if I could grab something from clearance, and they said yes. Once I did, they changed their mind. I had to go back and redo my purchase, (replace my $10 eyeshadow with a $15 dollar one that was similar) since I wanted the deal. Another time, I looked up a coupon (the 3.50 off your purchase of $10 or more), on the Ulta official website. It wasn't supposed to expire for another two weeks, and I only needed foundation. So I was pretty excited to use it. When I got up to the register, they insisted it was expired, even though it was over 2 weeks away from the expiration date. They said I needed to spend $15 (which was a promotion they also had). I showed her that the coupon was on the official site and in big letters it read $10, not $15. They honored the coupon, but they said they wouldn't do it again. I'm giving this a 3 star, because of Ulta alone. I love ulta stores, but this one gives Ulta a bad name. read more

Completely underwhelmed. I had my brows done previously by Sherea and she was super sweet and did a great job, so when I needed to get them done again, I called and made an appointment with her. I even brought a friend (who I made a second appointment for right after mine) because I was so impressed with the job she did last time! On our appointment day we arrived a few minutes before the first appointment, and were told that Sherea was working on make up, and did we want to see her specifically? Well yes, I made an appointment with her, I would like to see her. So we offered to go get coffee and come back, which the desk said would be great. We got coffee, stopped in another store, took our time coming back-about a half hour or so past our appointment times. Went back up to the counter and were told that she was still doing make up and they would ask her how long it would be. Came back, said she was going to come talk to us. After a few more minutes of waiting in which she clearly was not coming (we could see her from where we were), we just walked out and got brows done somewhere else. I understand two brow appointments may not be as expensive an appointment as a make up service, but if I made an appointment that should be honored, or I should be called to reschedule before I come all the way in. Maybe I should've waited to speak to a manager, but honestly I didn't have time. That's why I made the appointments. I'll be getting my makeup and salon work elsewhere from now on; completely turned me off. read more

I live in Jacksonville and go to Ulta very often for my makeup. The woman working in the front (asian) is always amazing and helpful. However it's the beginning of October and I was there last week (last week of September) and had a not so pleasant experience with an employee. She was brunette, short-ish and VERY unhelpful/rude! She heard me asking questions and looking for an item but kept walking past me to do nothing. When I ended up asking her my question finally, she had no personality and was so rude. Even my friend noticed she came out so rude and bitchy to me who just needed help! She works there and has to have an attitude its unbelievable! I swear people around here have no common courtesy especially when working with customers. Back where I used to live, we had to always treat our customers with kindness and lots of respect, and care. Ulta should NOT be hiring girls just to fill a spot. Get people that are friendly, helpful and ACTUALLY know what they're doing. I want to go back and read this girls name tag. read more
