I noticed there was a promotion if you buy 35 dollars worth of this brand you receive a free gift of Underia Cleasning body Polish. This was not a good experience since they have false advertisement. But this review is specifically for Jenifer E in the salon: I booked an appointment with Jenifer for a next-day signature haircut. I was sooo nervous about going from long hair to just-past-the-shoulders, I almost cancelled, I almost turned the car around to go home. I love the hair service here and Eddie is AMAZING! I drive over an hour, all the way from mountain view just to get my hair cut,colored and styled by Eddie and it's 10000% worth the drive! This review is to warn people about the hygiene to expect at this store and most likely across the WHOLE company. I used to be a regular Ulta customer and immediately stopped because the rumors about Ulta repackaging used makeup or selling old product are true. I couldn't believe it when I first read ex-employees posting this until it happened to me. I purchased a mascara not thinking anything major about it, and overnight I developed small bumps on my eye. After going to a doctor I was told it was an eye stye...never in my life has this ever happened to me. I've purchased many different brands of mascara and makeup over my whole life, so I'm not the type that has sensitive skin or allergic reactions. As I was at the doctor I kept asking myself what was new to my face, only to realize it was Ulta. I made an online purchase and got the wrong item. purchased a lip balm ofor12.99and i got sent out an essence lip balm that is about $4.00. I was in Gilroy and decided to make the return at this location. I took my shipping receipt and my confirmation email and the manager decided that she was not going to help me. she asked me to call the shipping number that is on the receipt I am unsure as to why she could not return it if I had proof that i bought it online and i got sent the wrong item. I read the return policy and it says that as long as i have the email confirmation and the receipt they should have been able to help me. Now I feel dumb for spending almost $400.00 that day. This review is for the Ulta Salon. Due to a mishap on my event day Sephora was not able to do my makeup. I immediately checked for appointment availability at Ulta and ended up driving to Gilroy from Monterey. I had formal makeup application and strip lashes applied by Lindsey Vasquez. Lindsey was amazing! I admit I don't wear much makeup as part of my daily routine so I was afraid of what it would look like. I showed her images of the look I was going for and she came through. To be honest I think she made me look better than the pictures. And although it was a lot more makeup than I am used to it was lightweight and didn't feel heavy or cakey. Lindsey ran multiple options through me when selecting lip colors and eyeliner looks and asked if I was happy with the final look, with full willingness to change anything that I didn't like.... But I loved it! In addition to doing an excellent job with my makeup, Lindsey was also very professional and fun to talk too. I will definitely book with her again when I need my makeup done. Calone and perfume still exspensive but they offer fragrance stix that are around $20 so thats good. Also the ulta brand goods are very affordable. I've gone to her a few times and each time I leave, I feel listened to, refreshed, she has a great eye for color, and the cut is always perfect. Shes very talented and definitely a keeper. Great store with everything a girl could want for her natural beauty. Only downside is the prices and the few allergy friendly and cruelty free options. My favorites are from the Ulta brand; The thin and thick eyebrow pen and the lipliner, although NYX makes the best price worthy lipliner. The only other make up a person with sensitive Scandinavian skin can use from there is Clinique which is tested on animals. Great service and advice. read more

I sent an email to corporate on November 12, 2020 (Today is November 20, 2020) and have yet to receive a response. Here is what I sent them: Today at 10:29am I went to the Gilroy, CA Ulta Beauty store to buy a bottle of Stila One Step Correct. I bought a bottle as well as a bottle of Hempz Triple moisture body creme. When I went to the register, Christina assisted me in checking out. When she asked for my phone number for my "rewards", I told her, "I really don't like saying my phone number out loud. Can I please type it in"? She told me, No... she has to do it. My question is... why? When I went to the Ulta store in Morgan Hill on November 5th I was told that you could do that. Why am I getting two different outcomes? With identity theft high on the rise and all of your information attached to your phone number, you never know who is listening. As a long time Ulta shopper, if I have to go somewhere else to get my makeup, I will. But I think it's shady of Christina (the girl at the register) to make sure I say my telephone number out loud for everyone to hear. Also... looking at Christina's name tag, you can barely see her name. I wear contacts and see perfectly while wearing them and yet... her name is barely visible. So... I guess my question (and I am sure a lot of other peoples) when you shop at an Ulta store, do you have to say your phone number out loud or can you type it in on the pin pad that you use when you pay w/your credit card? It's really not right to make people have to say them out loud when you don't know who is listening. Thank You. All I'm looking for is a simple answer. Why can't customers get one? 8 days and no response? I'd give a much better review if I could get an answer. Businesses need our money to stay open but yet can't give a simple answer? Came here on a Friday late afternoon. The store was not very busy with customers, I saw many sales associates on the floor but none of them offered to help or ask if I needed help. Disappointed as I saw a few of them horsing around in a circle just laughing. I spent a good 10-15 minutes trying to find someone who could help me. Eventually when I gave up trying to find someone a sales associate came up to me and asked me for help. She was extremely helpful and saved this review from being a 2 or 3 stars. The sales associate spent the time to help me find the products I was looking for, she gave suggestions and helped me color match a new BB cream. During the time I went it was happy hour and a salon associate did my daughters hair in braids for free, nice touch when normally it's $20 a braid. I also did a walk-in brow wax at the benefit brow bar. The associate Chercie was amazing. She is super friendly, talented and squeezed me into her schedule between customers. Highly recommend her service. Overall, the store has a lot of products to choose from, the store is clean and had everything in stock from what I could see. There is a hair salon, benefit bar onsite as well. I would go again to this store but have realistic expectations that I might now get anyone to help me out. read more

I was coming into my favorite make up store because who doesn't love Ulta right. I been a member for years. Constantly go in this location and always walk out happy with my purchase. Besides the fact that most of the employees in the make up aisle where not helpful at all. As a customer I don't want to hear about your personal life. Those conversations should not be happening when customers are present. When it came down to making my purchase. I informed the cashier that I had a gift and if could return it. The product is in perfect condition. She clearly informed me that with out a receipt I'm not able to a return exchange. Mindful that before coming in I looked up the return policy. No where on there it says I cannot return. She did not try to make any sort accommodation. Or even ask any of her supervisors on what can we do since it's shift and there is no receipt. ok, this is an update review because our local Ulta has become trash. like i said before, I am a diamond member, so I am In Ulta VERY often, and not joking, they are always out of stock for everything. Especially the Morphe section, it is ridiculous. They never stock any products and everything is sooo messy, its actually sad. I went in last week because they finally had the Morphe concealers, when I walked in I noticed they had them behind register, I asked to see samples so i could find my color and the girl "helping" me said they have samples somewhere in the back, and wasn't sure where?? I honestly felt like she wanted me to walk back there and find it myself, so I just walked right out the store. was sorta annoyed. Besides that, even the Revolution section is messy. Idk I feel like they can do better. I heard Morgan Hill has a nice and clean Ulta, I might just start going there. ughh sad moment. read more

I drove from San Jose specifically to this Ulta to grab Colourpop since this is the only store in the area that carries it. They were pretty much all out of stock, but that's okay because I knew the chances were slim. I want to commend this location for having associates on the floor. The issue I had was there were too many people and reps. I actually shyed away from all of the areas the were in. I found it to be too pushy and too in your face. I will say I was also looking at Makeup Revolution products and the display was absolutely horrible. I am pretty certain the primer I purchased was used, but all of them were! The moral of the story is, I am glad Ulta is staffing stores appropriately, just tone it down with the amount of employees hounding the customers. read more
