I had such an amazing experience with Liz! She was incredibly helpful, genuine, and just an absolute joy to interact with. I'm a huge believer in energy and frequency, and Liz has the kind of positive energy that is genuinely contagious. I walked into Ulta to shop and somehow left feeling happier and at a higher frequency than when I came in! She made me feel completely comfortable, took the time to help me, and never once made the interaction feel rushed or transactional. You can tell when someone is genuinely a kind person, and that absolutely came through with Liz. Employees like her can completely change someone's experience with a store and make you want to come back. Ulta is incredibly lucky to have her. Liz, thank you for being such a bright spot in my day! read more

Booked an online haircut appointment with Monique based on a photo of a haircut she recently did on a friend. Monique is friendly, easy to talk to regarding your wants and is honest with feedback. Honestly, I can't wait to book my next appointment for color as she has a good eye on detail and just made me feel comfortable and gave me the cut I needed to feel refreshed! read more

Came in to purchase some items , the girl that checked me out lied and said i was PRE QUALIFIED for their credit card, i questioned how if i hadn't input any of my information, she started trying to feed me BS. Very gimmicky business i would not shop here again read more

I always have a great time in store. Y'all really helped a girl out when I needed a new lip combo. Thank you Gilroy Ulta!!!!!!

Did my makeup haul today and had the sweetest most genuine employee named Alayna help me, she works in the MAC section but went all over helping me with all the brands helping me find the best products for my skin tone! 10 out of 10 recommend going to see her :) read more

I went to Ulta Beauty in Gilroy and I bought a Osea body serum that cost $48. I noticed there was a promotion if you buy 35 dollars worth of this brand you receive a free gift of Underia Cleasning body Polish. I was excited to get the body polish because I haven't tried it before. I paid for my product only to not receive the free gift because the store never had it. This was not a good experience since they have false advertisement. If you actually want free promotion gifts with your purchase by a store that has the product I suggest another Ulta Beauty not in Gilroy. read more

I stopped by this Ulta and was helped by Maggie at the Lancome counter. Excellent customer service and product knowledge. Her attention to detail and concern for customer satisfaction was something I've not experienced at this store before. I will come back just to see her. read more

I came here and Im not surprised that they have bad reviews. They do not greet their customers like other stores do. Instead, they sit their bullshitting with each other blocking the isles. We walked around the store a few times looking completely lost trying to find products we were looking for. We found some of them. When we went to check out she asked if we found everything we came for. I told her no and showed her what I had in my cart on the online store. She looked up some things and said it was online only. It's was my birthday and I didn't get a code so contacted customer service birthday gift, was told a full/deluxe size product. When I went they gave me a sample size .16oz product. read more

I initially came in to exchange a foundation I had ordered online in the wrong color. When I walked in, the woman at the registered called up a staff member for a color match. Jamie was the most helpful and kind employee ever! She steered me towards products that better suited my skin and needs, spent time trying out shades and discussing which options worked best for my lifestyle. Jamie was insanely knowledgeable and helpful. I am not using a product line I probably never would have tried, and I am sooo much happier with my new foundation and other makeup products. 10/10 working with Jamie and lancome! read more

Jennifer E. at the Salon was so amazing!! I've been so nervous to get my hair cut in a new place, but was recommended to Ulta, and Jenifer was perfect! She listened carefully, was incredibly meticulous with my hair, and was so kind! She even spent more time with me just to make sure everything was right. Definitely recommend!! read more

I had such a pleasant time!! I was in quite a bit of a rush trying to buy a full face of makeup since I forgot my makeup right before my trip! Nelly really helped me find every item I needed! She made great recommendations and MiND you this is all during the madness of BLACK FRIDAY!! I later find out she's the store manager and it makes so much sense!!! She is a rock star! Super friendly, approachable, on her toes, product knowledgeable, AND still running the floor with her team while helping me (multitask queeeen!) Wow wow wow! I was in awe seeing her leadership skills. Store was also super clean and organized! Quick checkout with friendly cashier! read more

I have been an active customer since 2020, and I love the variety of facial and skin care products they offer from brands like Clinique, StriVectin, Perricone MD, Supergoop, and Peter Thomas Roth. Out of all the franchises, the Gilroy store is the last place I want to go. I have encountered a few issues, such as purchasing expired facial and skincare products in-store, which I returned without any problems. Today, I visited the store to pick up an online order only to find that it had not been processed. To ensure customer satisfaction and maintain a positive brand image, Ulta needs to process online orders promptly. The Gilroy store and its staff need to review and improve their workflows, possibly incorporating automation to streamline the process. To remain competitive in today's market, Ulta Gilroy must develop a fast-paced online marketplace that can process and deliver orders quickly! read more

This Ulta location is great - tons of parking, friendly and helpful employees, store is clean and well organized, never had to wait too long at checkout. But this review is specifically for Jenifer E in the salon: I booked an appointment with Jenifer for a next-day signature haircut. I was sooo nervous about going from long hair to just-past-the-shoulders, I almost cancelled, I almost turned the car around to go home. But Jenifer was so friendly and made me feel so comfortable - she listened to what I wanted and looked at my inspiration photos. She explained what she was doing every step of the way and gave advice on how to style my hair and what products to use. I love my hair Jenifer! Thank you! I'll definitely be booking with you in the future! read more

This is a great Ulta store, always clean, and every time I come in it seems well stocked. However this review is specifically for the Hair Services I receive at the Salon. I love the hair service here and Eddie is AMAZING! I drive over an hour, all the way from mountain view just to get my hair cut, colored and styled by Eddie and it's 10000% worth the drive! Every time I come in I can provide Eddie with a few inspiration photos from Insta and Eddie will always work his magic. Don't walk, run and make your next hair appointment with Eddie, he will make you look and feel beautiful! Worth the drive, gas and time! read more

I had a great time at this location. Martha helped me pick out a perfume and was so so sweet!! Highly recommend.

Benefit Brow Bar: Speacialist Eddie Flores. Normally when I walk into this ulta I expect no acknowledgment what so ever unless Vanessa L. is on shift. Today however amazing! Went in with my daughter for a brow wax after Nail Salon made a mess of them and my daughter kept telling me all day after we left "don't forget to write a review because he was the best". (she's a teenager pretty much everyone sucks right now but not her brow specialist) He took the time to explain and ask questions, I didn't feel like it was a brow appointment I felt like I was talking to a friend casually. Walked us thought everything and we even got some great skin care recommendations! He's a keeper ! read more

The BEST staff!! So helpful, patient, and they recommend the best products! Love this place

I like coming to this Ulta when I can, because the customer service is always attentive and the women are so kind. I was fortunate enough to have Sara(h) help me color match for my mom's foundation. Not only was she lovely with awesome make up, but she was informative and professional. As I went through the store about 2 more employees asked if I was finding everything okay or if I needed help. Then, arriving to pay for my products, another employee was able to help me come up with a choice between 2 products and was very kind, as well:) read more

For me this Ulta has not been a good experience is the only one close so no too many options to go somewhere else when they have a special they don't give me the gift I always have to ask , and usually I have to be asking or looking for someone one to get help if I have a question not a good customer service but the only one with the makeup I use unless I want to drive 40min to shepora read more

This review is to warn people about the hygiene to expect at this store and most likely across the WHOLE company. I used to be a regular Ulta customer and immediately stopped because the rumors about Ulta repackaging used makeup or selling old product are true. I couldn't believe it when I first read ex-employees posting this until it happened to me. I purchased a mascara not thinking anything major about it, and overnight I developed small bumps on my eye. After going to a doctor I was told it was an eye stye...never in my life has this ever happened to me. I've purchased many different brands of mascara and makeup over my whole life, so I'm not the type that has sensitive skin or allergic reactions. As I was at the doctor I kept asking myself what was new to my face, only to realize it was Ulta. I don't plan on buying makeup from here as there is a reason it ends up at Ulta with the available discounts. Unbelievable! read more

Lucy was super rude. It just seemed like being there and doing her job is an inconvenience.

Took my son to get a haircut with Stacey. She was not friendly. Would not use her again.

This review is for Stacy at the hair salon. Took my son for a hair cut and she was very unfriendly and seemed upset. Did not greet me or him and complained about his mask. We were ten minutes late and apologized but after seeing her poor attitude specially towards my 7 year old we walked out. The general manger was great and got us another appointment at the morgan hill location. Definitely never coming back. read more

Customer service is great now. Very happy hearing advice and makeup guidance from the employees. The store is clean and organized and lots of items in the clearance section. Calone and perfume still exspensive but they offer fragrance stix that are around $20 so thats good. Also the ulta brand goods are very affordable. Still a risk to buy but a few things are nice to use. Salon section and makeup section. Love this place. I can spend hours here. read more

I made an online purchase and got the wrong item. purchased a lip balm ofor12.99and i got sent out an essence lip balm that is about $4.00. I was in Gilroy and decided to make the return at this location. I took my shipping receipt and my confirmation email and the manager decided that she was not going to help me. she asked me to call the shipping number that is on the receipt I am unsure as to why she could not return it if I had proof that i bought it online and i got sent the wrong item. I read the return policy and it says that as long as i have the email confirmation and the receipt they should have been able to help me. Now I feel dumb for spending almost $400.00 that day. One thing I know is that I am never coming back to this location. read more

This review is for the Ulta Salon. Due to a mishap on my event day Sephora was not able to do my makeup. I immediately checked for appointment availability at Ulta and ended up driving to Gilroy from Monterey. I had formal makeup application and strip lashes applied by Lindsey Vasquez. Lindsey was amazing! I admit I don't wear much makeup as part of my daily routine so I was afraid of what it would look like. I showed her images of the look I was going for and she came through. To be honest I think she made me look better than the pictures. And although it was a lot more makeup than I am used to it was lightweight and didn't feel heavy or cakey. Lindsey ran multiple options through me when selecting lip colors and eyeliner looks and asked if I was happy with the final look, with full willingness to change anything that I didn't like.... But I loved it! In addition to doing an excellent job with my makeup, Lindsey was also very professional and fun to talk too. I will definitely book with her again when I need my makeup done. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to have professional makeup applied! read more

I had my hair done by Lindsey Vasquez. I would really recommend her to anyone looking for a new stylist. I've gone to her a few times and each time I leave, I feel listened to, refreshed, she has a great eye for color, and the cut is always perfect. Shes very talented and definitely a keeper. It's also great that she's has me out always on time and she doesn't double book with her clients. read more

Hair- First time getting a hair cut here, usually go to a overpriced salon but I was in rush before a trip and just wanted a trip. Kristen did a fabulous job. No complaints about my hair at all and I'm soooo picky and have really long hair. Very affordable too! Brows- my go to brow spot. Usually go to Steph, she's great. This time I got a new blonde girl that I haven't seen, I think her name was Sara but she lost her name tag so not too certaine. She did a really good job too. Store- usually stocked and nice girls. At times they have felt pushy on sales on some brands. read more

My 5*Stars are for JOSUE who was my Cashier this morning! Let me tell you how hard it is to find GREAT Customer Service nowadays especially in Person and in the morning with a Smile on in his face! :) I had a some issues having to chose from 3 different Adhesive Lashes. I brought them up to Josue and WOW, just WOW! He gave me tips on how to put them on and which one would work best for me and gave me a price for each of them before he rang them up for me! Josue was very patient, kind, very helpful and informative with my Lash dilemma! Thank you for your AMAZING Customer Service JOSUE and also to his friendly smiley coworker with the 2 dimple piercings! :) Have a Great Day! read more

Great store with everything a girl could want for her natural beauty. Only downside is the prices and the few allergy friendly and cruelty free options. My favorites are from the Ulta brand; The thin and thick eyebrow pen and the lipliner, although NYX makes the best price worthy lipliner. The only other make up a person with sensitive Scandinavian skin can use from there is Clinique which is tested on animals. Great service and advice. read more

I sent an email to corporate on November 12, 2020 (Today is November 20, 2020) and have yet to receive a response. Here is what I sent them: Today at 10:29am I went to the Gilroy, CA Ulta Beauty store to buy a bottle of Stila One Step Correct. I bought a bottle as well as a bottle of Hempz Triple moisture body creme. When I went to the register, Christina assisted me in checking out. When she asked for my phone number for my "rewards", I told her, "I really don't like saying my phone number out loud. Can I please type it in"? She told me, No... she has to do it. My question is... why? When I went to the Ulta store in Morgan Hill on November 5th I was told that you could do that. Why am I getting two different outcomes? With identity theft high on the rise and all of your information attached to your phone number, you never know who is listening. As a long time Ulta shopper, if I have to go somewhere else to get my makeup, I will. But I think it's shady of Christina (the girl at the register) to make sure I say my telephone number out loud for everyone to hear. Also... looking at Christina's name tag, you can barely see her name. I wear contacts and see perfectly while wearing them and yet... her name is barely visible. So... I guess my question (and I am sure a lot of other peoples) when you shop at an Ulta store, do you have to say your phone number out loud or can you type it in on the pin pad that you use when you pay w/your credit card? It's really not right to make people have to say them out loud when you don't know who is listening. Thank You. All I'm looking for is a simple answer. Why can't customers get one? 8 days and no response? I'd give a much better review if I could get an answer. Businesses need our money to stay open but yet can't give a simple answer? I don't think I'm the only one wondering the same thing. read more

Came here on a Friday late afternoon. The store was not very busy with customers, I saw many sales associates on the floor but none of them offered to help or ask if I needed help. Disappointed as I saw a few of them horsing around in a circle just laughing. I spent a good 10-15 minutes trying to find someone who could help me. Eventually when I gave up trying to find someone a sales associate came up to me and asked me for help. She was extremely helpful and saved this review from being a 2 or 3 stars. The sales associate spent the time to help me find the products I was looking for, she gave suggestions and helped me color match a new BB cream. During the time I went it was happy hour and a salon associate did my daughters hair in braids for free, nice touch when normally it's $20 a braid. I also did a walk-in brow wax at the benefit brow bar. The associate Chercie was amazing. She is super friendly, talented and squeezed me into her schedule between customers. Highly recommend her service. Overall, the store has a lot of products to choose from, the store is clean and had everything in stock from what I could see. There is a hair salon, benefit bar onsite as well. I would go again to this store but have realistic expectations that I might now get anyone to help me out. read more

Went shopping with my girlfriend- stopped at Ulta Beauty. I had a pretty good experience here and after reading several reviews by different yelpers, I realize there are two kinds of reviewers: people who asks for help or people who expects help to come to them (and if they did early, they would be considered pushy). Three associates were in the front and several walking down the aisles. Mind you, my girlfriend and I are biracial couple and we didn't have any problems. They were nice. read more
