I first want to say I have never written a review before and normally I don't like negative reviews of businesses. With that being said, I can not get out of my mind what I recently witnessed at Salon 218 and the shear nastiness of a staff member toward the other staff members Let me explain...... I booked an appointment with one of the stylist there and was eager to try something new with my hair and after speaking with the stylist on the phone, I was even more excited. She was very knowledgeable and suggested we discuss when she saw my hair. I walked into the salon for my appointment and was greeted by a very friendly young girl. Sat down, met my stylist, got to chatting, and everything seemed great. Here's the creepy part, another stylist who was working across the room kept looking over and almost giving me a look of disgust, she kept doing this over and over and I started getting very uncomfortable. After a 1/2 hour or so, this stylist walks over to where I'm sitting and starts interrogating the stylist doing my hair, she was so rude and insulting, I couldn't believe what she was saying to my stylist right in front of me. It was so unprofessional, unnecessary, and she even used profanity, I was speechless and pretty much bullying my stylist. I was shocked and at that moment I wanted to leave because it was so uncomfortable. My stylist whole demeanor completely changed and she looked embarrassed and ashamed. I felt horrible for her. Come to find out the "mean girl" was the manager!!!! I was stunned!!! This manager continued to insult, be negative, be unkind, and 100% unprofessional to every staff member that she came into contact with. I have never felt so uncomfortable and sad for these women that work there in my entire life and I truly mean that. It has bothered me so much that after several days have passed and I still can't get it out of my mind. This manager was purposely going out of her way to attack the staff, it was disgusting. I loved the way my hair turned out, it was beautiful, and my stylist was excellent!! Unfortunately I will NEVER walk through the doors of that salon EVER again because of the inhuman way those girls were treated that day. For the "manager"...... If you were representing my business, you would be fired immediately!!! Your behavior, cruel intentions, and your unkind words to everyone you came into contact with, and I watched personally watched you for almost 2 hours. You didn't care that clients were there, you didn't care using vulgar language, and most importantly you didn't care that you purposely made another human being feel less than, actually you made several ladies feel that way. My advice to you is either be more aware of your behavior or get out of a business were you are in the publics view. It takes a lot of effort and wasted energy to be unkind, being kind and friendly is so much easier. In today's society and the negative world we live in, no one deserves how you CHOSE to treat those girls. I too own a business in this town, it's a small town and word travels fast. I highly suggest being aware of your behavior and I pray you are not spoken too or treated the way you treat others. I have been going to Salon 218 for over 13 years and I absolutely love it! I wish to thank them for working with my crazy schedule to ensure I look beautiful for my upcoming out of state trip. Today I got my lashes, and a wax with Alex- who is always smiling and strives to make your experience great! She does wonderful facials too and I often get compliments on how my face (skin) looks so I always go back. I also got my hair done by Robin, whose beautiful smile is contagious. She did my hair color and put in my extensions and I love the way it looks. Robin always makes sure I am comfortable and styles my hair beautifully each time I see her for my hair needs. I must say, both ladies as well as all the rest of the staff go out of their way to accommodate the customer and work well together to make your experience a great one- that's why I keep going back :) I also use their products, which help me maintain and strengthen my hair and I truly appreciate and enjoy the environment (particularly the Expresso coffee maker) anyhow, all I can say is that everyone is very customer oriented at Salon 218. My daughter also uses Salon 218 services, and she loves it! I give them a 5!! And once again thank you for working with me and my schedule! Love you ladies ! read more

If your looking to get Eyelash extension I highly recommend KAT! She recently relocated to this salon and I love her space! She does amazing work!! She really take pride in what she does, as she should. I NEVER walk out disappointed. My whole pregnancy she had me glowing & feeling more confident then ever. Now, if your looking to get a wax I highly recommend Alex. I wasn't confident going to get a Brazilian after giving birth but Alex was very helpful & professional. I tried salon 218 trying to stay local, the good thing is they did take me in right away. A couple hours later I was done, and my color looked nothing like I was explaining I wanted. I showed pictures and we agreed on she did not want to damage my hair and I really appreciate but I thought we communicated what I wanted or close to it. So I waited a couple months to get colored again and I was asking questions and she said well maybe I'm not the right stylist for you. Then it's annoying that you're trying to get your hair done and they're trying to push their products on you. Every other conversation was about their product and why I should buy it it was very pushy. It made me feel because I didn't buy the products then I was treated different. read more

Sadly, I cannot give less than 1 star. I came to this salon multiple times for a specific stylist that I fell in love with, and I would often spend 3-4 hours there. My stylist was so patient and kind, and had every dream quality of someone you would want to do your hair. I never wanted to leave a bad review purely for the fact that she still was there and did not want to affect her business, but now unfortunately she is gone. The manager, Robin, is, in my opinion one of the most unprofessional, and questionable people I have ever seen in a professional setting. To begin with, the very first time I ever stepped foot into that salon, as I was waiting for my stylist to mix my bleach, I was approached by the manager, and asked to join in on what I now know as a pyramid scheme that she is involved in, some kind of "diet program". I have also witness her mention this to specifically heavier people, which is completely inappropriate. Her chair was across from where my stylist's was, and she would, very loudly, complain and talk to her clients, and also talk about specific things that should NOT be brought up in professional settings, such as religion and politics. Whenever she would interact with the other stylists, she was very openly rude and had a noticibly horrible attitude. It made me very uncomfortable, and my jaw would often drop at things she would say. The manager at this establishment makes the environment very uncomfortable and not welcoming whatsoever. Fortunately my stylist has moved to a new salon closer to me, and I never have to see this woman again. Don't waste your time here just to get your hair done. It's absolutely nothing special worth dealing with this manager. There are other services performed by other women that are great, and I feel terrible for them having to deal with this. read more

Went to the website, sent an e-mail, sent another e-mail (since the first one was never responded to), got a short reply asking what I was looking for, replied, recived another e-mail telling me to call on the the stylist to book the appointment. You know the old joke...I'm a beautician not a magician...well Michelle is a Magician. My hair was dull and drab. When I walk out it's heathy looking and highlighted beautifully. She really knows color. You can just tell by watching her she's a natural. What's especially nice about Michelle is..if you say "not too short"..that's exactly what you get. She's there to please you. Another nice thing about going to Michelle's is the experience...it reminds you of "Cheers" ....where everyone knows your name. read more

Today I went to Salon218 to get my hair cut. My cut was by LeeAnne Thrasher. I must say I am very please with the Professional Service I got today. LeeAnna listened to what "I" wanted done. She showed me how to style my hair so that I would be able to do it at home. She was happy, friendly, and that showed me she really enjoys what she does. I was bummed to see some poor reviews..That hasn't been the case with me! I popped in one day to Salon 218 and was immediately impressed with the shop itself! The ambience sure was inviting! Janine greeted me and she's done my hair ever since :) I honestly have NEVER had someone take the time, look up pictures, ask a hundred questions, trying to figure out what I want and what would work for my hair..I really feel pampered! I have always had a love/hate relationship with my hair and ever since coming to Janine I have had multiple strangers approach me and compliment my hair and ask where I've had it done! Sure sometimes it's busy and you might have to wait, our time is valuable.. I wouldn't discredit a place based on that..because that happens sometimes at hair salons..I typically make my appointments first thing in the morning ;) Oh and a final note, the little espresso machine is awesome! xo read more

If you want to wait 40 minutes after your scheduled appointment to only be shuffled between many other people and shoved in here and there, then this is your place. My hair looks like crap. The bleach was left on so long (I think I was forgotten about under the dryer in the washing room) that a toner was put on that left my hair with a purple tint. Michelle, the owner, didn't seem to notice how many people were pissed off being shuffled around by her way over-booked schedule. I heard she did great color - ha! What a joke. I went to the beauty supply store and the lady there helped me get my hair looking decent. Oh yeah, I was charged $225.00 for the massacre. Go to the beauty supply and get some hair dye and do it yourself before you waste 2 1/2 hours being forgotten about in this place. read more

I was so grateful that I found Robin. I had been trying to find someone who knew about holistic or organic hair color. I physically needed to have organic or natural products. i have been looking for a great hairstylist for years now, and i have finally found her, janine rodriguez. she was phenomenal, i went in with totally split and dead hair, and she totally revived it. the salon is beautiful and very comfortable. and the stylists are very easy to talk to. they are also always taking classes to keep up with the latest hair trends, and take their time to make sure they are cutting your hair exactly the way you want it, which is such a welcomed relief. read more

My husband can not stop kissing me, my kids keep telling me how beautiful I look and I can't stop looking in the mirror. This was my first salon experience and I plan on going back. Janine was my stylist for this experience and she treated me like royalty, took the time to show me hair care products and styling techniques that best fit my hair type. She really went the distance by offering other beauty services that this Salon has to offer and finished off my look with a facial waxing(eyebrows & upper lip). Like most of us, I live a very busy lifestyle so, when I get an opportunity to get out and have some "me time" I want it to be exactly what it was today....INCREDIBLE!
