Kristen is amazing but the rest of the staff have high school mean girl vibes . There's one girl who works here in particular who has DELIBERATELY TURNED HER BACK TO ME and PURPOSEFULLY ignored me , like it's very very DISRESPECTFUL to act like the person isn't there and DEFLECT to her coworker , she's done this the two times I've visited this store both times. it's VERY rattling and I am SHOCKED at the DELIBERATE attempt to make me feel INVISIBLE while I ask them for ASSISTANCE to buying a $28 lipliner and spend my money here , it's a complete rebellion against what should be customer service. The other worker also gave me one-word answer when I asked if she was one of the stylist who worked in the hair salon section in the back . Telling me "NO"- offering NOTHING ELSE, like leaving me with NO information to PURSUE OR SPEND MONEY on a SERVICE here . Luckily Kristen makes up for these careless mean girls . Inviting me in 2 minute til opening and then explaining the stylist arrive at noon. The other beauty store clerks Severely LACK any type of social skills to work around other females or human being in general . It's astounding ! But thank you Kristen for being the best here !!!!! I wish I can leave more stars but I get treated poorly by the other girls here like I don't come here to be mistreated , while I could order my makeup online , than bother driving to go to a brick and mortar shop, there is one woman who works the DIOR counter here that I want to give recognition to She has been very nice and helpful as well. I had an experience that was nothing but excellent at my recent trip to Ulta. I had some experience points and needed a pick me up so I decided to book a salon service at Ulta. I [thought] I booked an all over color and cut with style, but upon checking in realized I only added the color service when I booked online. My stylist, Megan was kind enough to allow me to add the other service, even though I had a later appointment and I was truly grateful. She was not only efficient with her application, but the whole process was much quicker than any other professional color and cut I have ever received. She worked with my bleach damaged hair to return me back to the off black natural color I missed. She also cut just enough to rid me of dead ends but maintain my length for my upcoming wedding. She payed attention and kept up a pleasant conversation giving me some understanding of Covington as a new resident. This was very kind and helpful. I wish people would understand that retail and service industry are severely understaffed post C19. Have patience with staff, tip well and most of all be kind. The booking process is a breeze, but due to their very fair prices and convenience of the location you may need to book in advance. read more

TERRIBLE!!!!!!!! First of all why did they schedule me with someone who is not even a barber to cut my sons hair, as he admitted to me. I'm looking at my son getting his hair cut and I knew 10 mins into the cut that something wasn't right. I'm looking and asking myself why does my have a straight bowl shaped line around the front of his hair, and the top of his hair is totally warp sided? I step in to see what's going on and to my surprise the guy says that he's "finished" and what do I think about it? I'm completely honest with him and tell him that it's completely wrong!!!! He gives me a look and says what's wrong with it? I explain, then he says that for one, he's not used to my sons texture of hair....and that he's really not a barber!!! WTH??? I scheduled a makeup application appointment for an event. When I called, I asked if there were anyone who specialized in Black skin as we live in a predominantly white area. The lady who answered the phone was apprehensive about scheduling the appointment with me. I didn't complain as I needed to get an appointment with someone. I arrived and the artist was about 20 minutes late to my appointment. Thank God I had plenty of time. Sydney did a fantastic job! She's a perfectionist. I was attending a dinner social so it was not a formal occasion and I throughly explained this too her. I expected to pay $40-$50 and left with a $70 tab not including tip. I love makeup, hair products and perfume. Always have. When I was about 12 an Eckerds drugstore was built within walking distance of my Dad's house. We went in one day and I happened upon the cosmetic section. Can I just say that I could hear an angels choir singing? Guess what my ass was doing after that as often as I could? Walking to Eckerds to stalk the aisles of the cosmetic section. Ulta is the equivalent of a drugstore cosmetic section on steroids, okay? It's ginormous and slammed full of things that make me giddy with joy. GIDDY I tell you. There are all of your standard drugstore brands here AND there are lots of harder to find high end brands too! I'm not exaggerating when I tell you I could spend hours in this store. Could and have, actually. Thank you, Ulta. You make this girl very happy. read more

I've been going to this Ulta since it opened and I have to say they have definitely improved from what they used to be. I hated going in here because it was always messy and hard to shop and the employees were never around. Now, it's much cleaner. They have testers for a lot of the affordable makeup. I still wish there was more presence on the floor besides the prestige makeup. It's still hard to locate someone to help you. But I have been greeted warmly every time I enter recently. They've even had testers available for upcoming launches which helped me shop online at their website. I do wish this specific store had a larger selection, considering the area it's in. They could really monopolize the makeup market in this area since there is no Sephora. They carry so much online, but not enough in store. It's also strange to me how they separate their K-Beauty into two sections. One is towards the middle of the store and easily accessible and the rest is tucked in a corner in the back, that you will probably never see. Apparently it's been there a long time, but I never knew! I'm not sure how their customer service training is, but I would like to see some hands on helping in areas other than the prestige section. read more

So I just had my first experience at the brow bar at the Ulta store. I must say I was very impressed. The attendant at the brow bar was very knowledgeable,polite and professional. She was very understanding that I have sensitive acne prone skin. She even used products to soothe and calm my skin after the brow waxing. As for the make-up products in the store, they do have an extensive assortment of products. I particularly was looking for a blond eyebrow powder to suit me. but the desired product was out of stock per the attendant. I was slightly disappointed that it was not able to be special ordered. Sephora is sooooooo much better as far as customer service goes and they r ALWAYS out of stock of whatever I need no matter what it is, even online!!! The wax ended with a piece of skin missing from my face and infected. Please, please do not go to this ULTA for waxing. I went into this ULTA on 2.20.14 to have my lip and brows waxed. This ULTA does not have a brow bar; therefore waxes are done in the salon. The woman that did the wax ended up ripping a piece of skin off of my face. I have been getting waxes for YEARS and this has never happened to me. When I contacted the manager, Bonnie Fink, she was unconcerned and unsympathetic to the matter, but asked me if I wanted my money back. I honestly did not care about getting my money back, I just wanted to collect some information on the woman's name in the salon since she was unwilling to give me her name at the time of service. Unfortunately, Bonnie was unwilling to give me her name too. I have been to a lot of ULTA's and this one is by far the worst ULTA I have been too. read more

everytime i go into this ulta i always get treated horribly. they judge you on how you look and if i'm in normal clothing like sweats and a t shirt or shorts and a shirt and a pony tail i get treated terrible but if i have makeup on and i dress nice then i get treated like a normal human being. i would've stopped going here a long time ago but im a makeup artist and this is the only ulta where i live so im just going to start ordering online. the customer service is absolutely terrible. when im in there as well they don't greet you everytime and they just follow you around like you're going to steal or something. it's creepy and weird and i feel very uncomfortable. sephora is like a minute away from this ulta and their customer service is 100x better and i recommend go there if you want to go inside the store. i recommend ordering online unless you're okay with being judged dressing like a normal human or getting all dolled up just to go makeup shopping... i went there a couple days ago and yeah it was my last time going inside their. there's one lady that is so sweet and i love her!! she's the only one who doesn't judge you for how you look. she has black hair with blonde money pieces. she's absolutely gorgeous and the sweetest kindest soul i've met inside that ulta. she's not just wanting to sell the product either she makes sure it will be good for you and makes sure you like it. read more

I do not recommend this Ulta. I called about using a new customer coupon. I specifically mentioned the coupon, but when I got there I was told they booked me with a "master" stylist and the coupon was not valid. The "master" stylist was much more expensive and I would have never made an appointment if I knew how much it was going to be. I got a wax and haircut. The wax was horrible and I'm still trying to grow the missing hair back in. When I went to check out, even the prices of the wax were different that what was printed on the menu and online. I had to stay an extra 10-20 minutes to get it all straightened out. It was very embarrassing and I will never go back. Why would you offer a new customer discount and then not honor it? That doesn't seem like a good way to get new customers. read more

The only reason there is a star is because I had to choose at-least one just to write this review. I watched my best friend who is a hair Dresser for 10 years get her hair completely screwed up! Catherine, the "master stylist" who we waited for because she wanted the best was cocky rude and had no customer service skills what so ever! She seemed to have her own agenda, took her all of 3 mins to shampoo then she refused to listen to what my friend was saying, Catherine bashed her old stylist who we explained was in the hospital for kidney failure. I can't even begin to explain how she cut it. First of all she sat down to cut it LIKE IN A CHAIR and her hair is only to her shoulders so why sit down? She cut the one length and then round brush blow dried it without even looking at the layers. After my friend reminded her about the layers she began to hold big chunks of hair at a downward angle and cut into them for an hour and a half. Catherine even told her she needed to let it grow then she cut it several more times. After we got home she started checking the layers knowing they were awful and was even more upset after seeing how uneven. We kept telling the stylist the haircut looks good trying to get her to quit cutting. Scared to say anything negative for fear she would cut more trying to fix it. We spend hundreds of dollars at Ulta on a regular basis so to even write this review sucks! Love ulta and their products and everyone that works in the Covington location, but I do not recommend the "Master stylist" Catherine. read more
