Covington Dental Care - The left corner of my lip was burnt by the bleach too!

However, when I scheduled my teeth whiting, it was the receptionist (Amy) that did the application. She significantly bleached my gums and did not give me anything, including advice, on how to care for it. I DO NOT recommend this place. It seems it's just about getting money not dental care.

That…read moresaid the way I was treated, the neglect that occurred and most importantly the way it was handled was appalling. After a root canal failed I went in to have the tooth removed. They tried to talk me into another root canal not only on that tooth but the adjacent one. I explained that I did not want one, nor could I afford to spend another 2k+ on the teeth. Finally after being given a bill for almost $1400 to remove the tooth and cap the adjacent tooth done at once I relented. I figured even though it was a lot of money that they have a lovely office and "cutting technology" that I was in good hands. The younger dentist who's name I can't recall was nice enough but seemed to be a bit hurried. The tooth wasn't coming easy but finally he pulled it. I asked about the tip and was assured everything was fine. It wasn't. Four days later with massive pain and a fever I returned. The main dentist looked and said I still had the roots in my gums as he could see from the X-ray. He also said much of the pain was from a perforated sinus. They booked me for the next day. The surgery was performed and the young doctor now seemed flippant and unapologetic about the situation. When I was released and talked to the office manager about the week I was out of work and issues she said "this is a common issue. What is your point?" When I asked if they could refund any of the 1400 she said "you paid us for a service and we gave it to you." I just want people to know what kind of people you will be dealing with. The prices are a lot more than other dentists in the area but they won't stand behind their work and have no concern for their patients after they leave. It's a sad world we live in and as far as I'm concerned this place is part of the problem.

He is a GREAT periodontist, who exemplifies a distinctive level of knowledge, kindness and, superb medical care! When I visited Dr. Sweiden for my consultation and examination, he was explicit as he explained my treatment options and the specifics of implant surgery. As an added bonus, Dr. Sweiden's staff are all very friendly, helpful and extremely prompt. Everyone made me feel comfortable about the procedure, and all my questions were answered. I was impressed with the warm atmosphere, and the attention you and your staff give your patients. It makes my visits to your office a very pleasant experience. Indeed, your attention to detail in both terms of preparing patients for both pre-operative and post-operative care is beyond reproach. Your written instructions were most precise, and I was well aware of how to properly prepare for my implant surgery, and your post-operative care instructions were extremely comprehensive. As an added bonus, my post-operative care instructions were provided in a gift bag, and I was delighted that my package included limited medical supplies and, as an added bonus, a gourmet soup. It was a welcome gift and a very thoughtful gesture. Certainly, Dr. Caesar Sweidan pays attention to his patients needs. I write this letter with sincere gratitude to thank you for being kind and caring and for taking such good care of me. During my implant procedure, I was completely at ease. St Tammany Periodontics is an ELITE professional organization, and I highly recommend your office to anyone in need of periodontal care. Please know that the biggest reward for a thing well done is to have DONE IT! I am pleased with the outcome of my procedure, and I thank you for being my periodontist! Sincerely, Dennis J. Saucier

The whole time I never felt ANY PAIN also because of where my tooth was she had to go back to readjust it to make sure it was perfect and I really appreciated that. Unfortunately, it was the complete opposite. From the start, something felt off. I met with Michael, explained my dental history, my goals, and my budget. He assured me everything was doable and that my budget was reasonable. After my so-called "free consultation," I was sent away with a bill and told I couldn't even get a quote until I paid $430 for a cleaning. I live an hour away in Baton Rouge, so before booking, I called again to make sure I wasn't wasting my time or money. Michael reassured me multiple times that it would be worth it -- so I trusted him. That was a mistake. At my second visit, Michelle did my cleaning and x-rays, and she was actually amazing -- gentle, kind, and professional. She's the only positive thing I can say about this entire experience. When the doctor came in, I felt completely dismissed. She didn't seem to listen to my goals or understand why I was there for cosmetic dentistry. The plan she presented had nothing to do with what I asked for -- orthodontics, crowns, fillings -- everything but what I needed. Then Michael called to tell me the doctor didn't want to proceed with extractions. I was shocked -- isn't this supposed to be a cosmetic dentist? He said he'd follow up after talking to her again, but I never heard back. Not a single call. So now I'm out $430 for a cleaning I could have done locally for half the price, I have a worsening infection, swelling, and a black eye because the problem teeth still need to be pulled -- and I'm no closer to a solution. If you're looking for a true cosmetic dentist, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. This office took my money, wasted my time, and left me in worse shape than when I started.
