I adore my credit union. I've been to several places and the service here exceeds my expectations. It's very easy to open new accounts and their online banking system is easy to navigate. This office is always clean and the staff is helpful and friendly. You can open a business account with just your ID and DBA. Also, the business account has no monthly fees which is a huge plus for me.

We went there today to refinance a car and Roxanne was super helpful and she even remembered us from the last loan.

Buying a home can be stressful, but Kristin and her team made the entire loan process feel smooth and manageable. They worked extremely hard on our loan, followed through on everything they said they would do, and kept us informed every step of the way. What stood out most was their honesty and integrity-qualities that can be hard to find these days. Kristin truly went above and beyond to maximize our seller credits and delivered exactly what they promised. We always felt like we were in good hands and that they genuinely cared about helping us get the best outcome possible. We are so thankful for all of their hard work and dedication. I would 100% work with Kristin and her team again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a lender they can truly trust.

She quickly reached out, got me preapproved right away and was incredibly responsive to all my questions throughout the process. We placed our offer on November 22 and closed on December 19. The team was able to get my loan approved and closed in under 27 calendar days, which included weekends and the Thanksgiving holiday so really around 17 business days when you think about it! These guys definitely have their process down. That said, the origination charges (processing/underwriting) were higher than some of the other lenders and when I requested a reduction in these charges, they didn't budge and instead referenced the points buy down, which, while in the origination category, is a seperate line item than the processing/underwriting line items. A younger version of me would have pushed harder on this to save a few hundred bucks, but I chose not to but definitely getting a mention in the review though so... *shrugs* Overall though, I would definitely recommend them, and especially Amanda, due to her expertise, communication, and efficiency.

In the not so distant past, evil Realtor overlords dominated the housing horizon. Time and again, we tried to shed these dream oppressors, but alas they seemed to be at every home purchase. Then came Sean... a seemingly unassuming, small town boy with big city dreams. While wandering away from his quaint village of "New York", he stumbled upon a strange, new, and decidedly weird world known as Austin. He sought a different path, one that only became clearer over time. By channeling his spirit in this sparse, south by southwestern community he found his calling... place people in their homes. Nurtured by the Austin oasis, this lone rebel fought the evil Empire for us. Our young warrior was not afraid to turn in a low bid or stand up to the dogmatic forces of proper real estate etiquette. "All they can say is no," said the boy as he became a master. From the vast hilly desert of SW Austin, through the hills and up to the highlands, Sean fought the good fight to put us in a home. Along the way, he dealt adamantly with real estate riffraff and fought for the little guy, establishing himself as a Realtor of the people. Now, as we move on to the next chapter in our lives, we'll forever be grateful to the agent who said "Those electrical boxes will catch on fire!" and "I wouldn't want a rat to fall on your face" and "Got you a free water heater." Truly a man of distinction. Thank you Sean Austin, and godspeed.

He always picks up the phone and never made us feel bad for asking questions. He also fought for us when a buyer tried to low-ball us on the sale of our house and he also got us money back from the sellers of our current home after the home inspection. He's found two homes for us in incredibly hot neighborhoods. We would definitely use him again.

I mean, I wasn't going to bank with them or do any business with them so how could it get worse, right? Wrong! I told them to delete anything resembling an application and to make no future contact with me. So naturally I should have expected to receive texts and emails on a daily basis. I blocked emails, but kept receiving emails. I texted STOP, but texts don't stop. To me the appeal of a credit union is that you avoid the impersonal touch of big national banks. RBFCU not only has the long hold times of a big bank, they also have tons of clueless call center people who will make you feel even more frustrated based on their inability to help. And now, I'm getting texts at midnight telling me to finish my membership application. AT MIDNIGHT! Let me translate this for the one RBFCU employee that's tasked with pasting in a generic response about how much you care. That midnight text to me says, "Hey, are you sleeping? You might be since you have to be at work at 6:00 AM, but hey, finish this application RIGHT NOW for a bank that is currently closed." See the irony or the sheer stupidity in this tactic? I know, I know, you hired some marketing company, somewhere that you don't control and they just press "send". So let's make this real clear, the next time I have to ask you to LEAVE ME ALONE will be in person and I assure you that exchange will be one you wished you didn't have. So contact me again and see what happens.
