What an unexpected and wonderful surprise! We were in the area, and our original dinner choice was about to close. Turns out this place is open just a little later than the area average, so they won our visit. I wasn't super impressed by the crab wontons, but that was my wife's choice (not exactly what I'm looking for at a Thai restaurant). Everything else was super tasty - my friends got pineapple fried rice and massaman curry, I got panang curry, and my wife got pad thai. No complaints. The rec for Udom Thai came from a Thai-American acquaintance. The food is higher than 3 stars. The service and the condition of the bathroom are lower than 3 stars. It averages out to 3 stars. However, the service was so bad last time we went that it is unlikely we will be back any time soon. They were shorthanded, and because of this the service was inexcusably poor. I called today to place an order to go. Was put on hold by Shannon but after 14mins of being on hold i called back because it was obvious she forgot only to have her tell me to order online. While telling Shanon I was driving to her so I couldn't and ask if she could take just one plate order which she refused. I also was just letting her know that it would have been nice to know that 15mins ago so that she tells the next customer instead of making them wait, she hung up on me. Finally...a good Thai restaurant...and actually run by Thai people. I have been to two of the other "best" (according to Westword / Denver Post) Thai restaurant and been pretty disappointed. One of them was owned and run by a Burmese Family and I found the other's curry to be watered down and tasteless. I just picked up Friday night dinner at Udom Thai for the first time for my wife and I. We discovered this place while returning from South Glen shopping center back to Highlands Ranch. All I can say is "WOW! It is the best Thai food we have eaten in Colorado!". Thai food is our favorite ethnic cuisine and we have eaten at most of the Thai restaurants in the Denver area with disappointing results. Udom Thai turned our opinions around! My only criticism is that the portions are a little small. We are used to sharing dishes and these are slightly small for two. We tried both the Chicken Pad Thai and the Beef Pad Se Ew. Avoid this place like the plague. They have an answering machine that goes on before connecting to a human (not sure this is the right application). I ordered on Yelp which I tend to do all the time on the weekends when my family orders in. This experience was the worst one I've EVER had due to negligence at this restaurant. We ordered cashew chicken and pad see-ew which is our favorite at other restaurants. When we got the order it was completely wrong and to add to the issue they sent us items with peanut to a house with allergies. When trying to call the restaurant I was continuously ignored on purpose for about 15 min with their service. I hung up and called from my wife's phone and they answered right away (fishy if you ask me). When I spoke to them and explained the issue they refused to deliver me the new dishes because we were ONE mile outside of the delivery "zone" (bad owner or manager on this call). I let them know a review would be posted about this experience and they had no reservations about it... big mistake. I would try to find any other place than this one to avoid not eating for hours due to the restaurant messing up big time on several accounts. Udom is still our go-to for Thai in the area-- it competes with the Thai food I had in Seattle. They don't deliver anymore, but the takeout is ridiculously fast and always accurate. Additional things I can recommend are: --pad thai: equally good with chicken and beef. --panang curry: my husband says this is amazing, and it smells great. --Thai beef jerky: I'm not even a big beef jerky fan, and this stuff is tasty. --Thai basil chicken: very good. --summer rolls: put together very well with a really tasty peanut saw, although I think the cucumber slices are a little too big. Always very fresh tasting. No liquor license, so we've always just done takeout, but it's nice and clean inside, and the servers are always nice. There's a lot more on the menu I'd like to try so I'm sure I'll be back! read more

OK, this is my new favorite Thai restaurant in the greater Denver area. This may only apply to some, but one thing to know here or with any authentic thai restaurant you should clarify when ordering medium or hot if you want that as a medium on the USA scale or Thai scale. If you want it really hot, they can definitely accommodate that, but they also have amazing dishes for those not wanting something spicy. The staples like Papaya Salad, Thom Yum, and Thom Kha are all excellent. We tried the "beef jerky" appetizer and it was excellent. Don't think this is dried like what you get at a gas station, more its flash fried, juicy, salty, and spicy with the sauce that accompanies it. Deliscios. read more

Hands-down one of the BEST Thai food restaurants that I've been to! Disclaimer: I've never been to Thailand. :) My wife and I have visited UT about 4-5 times now and each-time they've never failed to deliver an exceptional, delicious meal. So far we've tried their Green & Red Curry, Pad Thai, and Tom Yum soup (my favorite) and we've loved them all. UT uses the freshest, most authentic ingredients to make their dishes flavorful and well balanced. The owner and staff were courteous and very helpful as we navigated their vast menu of good eats. I struggled to find good Thai food in Denver for two years after I moved from Boston. I learned Denver just didn't make the cut. Then a friend who is from Thailand introduced me to Udom. Oh baby. Finally good Thai food in Denver. You can ask for the spicy level you want, and you may or may not be able to handle it. So good I could eat there daily. The catfish is good, the noodle dishes are good, everything is good. I have yet to find something bad there. read more

Instead we received one chicken pad Thai so spicy I had to spit it out and took 30 minutes to subside, another chicken pad Thai (not shrimp) and the drunken noodles were omitted altogether. This is more like a 3+ star place overall, but I wasn't quite impressed enough to give it four stars, even understanding that the standards are lower since we're in the suburbs in Colorado. The restaurant is clean and the wait staff was attentive and friendly. We were a group of seven and they were able to accommodate our myriad of requests (family style for one half of the table, no spice for some, spicy for others). On a weeknight the restaurant was not full which meant we didn't have to wait for seating. The menu has a decent selection of Thai dishes with the odd Chinese, Vietnamese, or "Chinese" dish thrown in for reasons that are mysterious to me. In my opinion, the world will be a better place when "orange chicken" no longer appears on menus. But I digress. I shared a chili fish dish with bell peppers and eggplant (tasty but not very spicy), a green curry with shrimp (a bit spicy), and a flat rice noodle dish (name is escaping me at the moment). The noodle dish did have some nice heat to it which was a pleasant surprise after the other dishes. The prices were reasonable and parking plentiful. The place is a bit challenging to find since my maps app put it on the opposite side of the street from where it really is located. What a find. Udom Thai really delivers when it comes to delicious, inexpensive Thai food. We've been here a few times now, and have really come to like it. Noodle dishes are a perennial winner. Our favorites include paad Thai with shrimp, and drunken noodles with tofu. The masaman and red curries are also excellent. Udom Thai doesn't have a liquor license--nothing in this shopping center does--so we use them for take out more than dine-in. However, this doesn't seem to dampen the crowds, as Friday and Saturday nights will still be packed. Service is very friendly. read more

They used to be nice place to eat and they had good food. I went yesterday and asked for Chicken Udon Noodle and Veg Red Curry and both with Mild plus spicy. I got chicken red curry with and called waiter they took it back and without apologizing but showing the attitude. I asked to get warm rice since old rice is cold now since we are waiting for Veg curry now, she is showing attitude again. We got red curry with extreme hot spicy and Udon noodle with no spice at all. I asked for spoon and she went inside and I can see that she wat wiping spoon with her hand and gave it to us. Food are not good any more neither are the new employees. They touch your food and are touch your dishes. read more

In my opinion, this the most legit place to get your AUTHENTIC Thai food fix if you live in the Highlands Ranch/Littleton/Centennial area. I've become an Asian food snob since moving to Colorado because there aren't many authentic restaurants here. I think the Asian restaurant owners here are afraid not getting enough business and decide to offer not only their own ethnic specialty, but ALL OTHER kinds (for example: Chinese owners with a Pho joint, or Korean owners that serves sushi). Stick with your roots people, and own it! Let Coloradans explore the many types of Asian cooking in individual restaurants! I digress. Anyway, although Udom Thai offers Pho *cough, cough* their Thai food is awesome. We go there for mostly for their lunch specials because we always spend nearly $80 for dinner there and I'm so used to paying much less than that back home. The lunch specials are the way to go because not only do you get your entree which is a generous size - they give you a cup of soup and a veggie eggroll for less than $8-10. I always get my fav dish, Chicken Pad See Ew. Their Pad Thai is the best I've tried amongst the other nearby restaurants as well as their Thai Fried Rice. Service is good! I am a little disappointed with the service that I got, my 30 minute lunch break turned to an a hour. I came in around 11 and there was only 2 people around. My food was served fairly quick, but semi warm. I had wanted it mild, came back bland. I saw my waitress 2x. From when my order was taken and when I got my food. Had to go up front to pay and asked to box my leftovers. 40 minutes later, no water refill and 6 people total at the restaurant. No excuse for a crappy service. They did not have lunch menu or specials, same quantity for lunch and dinner. My total bill was 15.82 for lunch with one entree and no sides. I will not be back for sure, a complete rip off and the service was down right awful. read more

Honestly, this place is the BEST thai food in Denver. I've been blessed to have traveled a few times to Thailand and had the pleasure of experiencing their beautiful culture and delicious food, so I like to consider myself somewhat well-versed in Thai cuisine. But being in the US, it's hard to find authentic tasting Thai food, so I tend to gauge all Thai restaurants by the quality of their Tom Yum soup. This has honestly served as a great point of reference for me in determining how authentic their flavors will be -- and, I'm thrilled to say, Udom Thai's Tom Yum soup is incredible! (Make sure to order it in Medium spice, if you can handle. It will taste soooo much more authentic!) Having sampled various thai restaurants in the Denver area, this place beats 'em all by far. I walked in this past Friday with a small group of 3. We were quickly seated and provided cups of water. The place is nicely decorated, clean and well lit. It was bustling with activity and diners, always a good sign. Unfortunately, service ended up being a bit slow, as there were only 2 people serving the floor and they were struggling to manage an influx of takeout orders as well as a full restaurant. We patiently waited, not being in a big rush, and eventually had our orders taken. We ordered the ground chicken Larb as an appetizer, Tom Yum (for me of course!), while our company ordered Panang curry and Drunken noodle. All the dishes EXCEEDED our expectations and we left the establishment 10 lbs heavier but happier! I also love that this place does not cook with any MSG (bonus!) AND they can provide Gluten-free options (another bonus!). ***Some advice: Only order the menu items that are Thai. Delicious Thai entrees. Their Udom Noodle bowl is amazing-- it comes with chicken or pork, but you could probably eat just the noodles in this dish and come away completely satisfied. They provide a tray of spice bowls, so you can add to your dish. Wonderful and friendly service; very attentive to detail and a good job of describing each dish. Our waitress was absolutely adorable, too. Very clean, tidy and stylish interior, despite the strip-mall location. Only knock on this place is that they do not currently have a liquor license.
