Pretty bad delivery meal. With food costs so high it's always extra sad to order from some place that isn't nice quality food. Chicken, chewy and mushy and not normal meat texture AT ALL. If they're "velveting" it, it's excessive and gross. Chicken Fried rice was okay. But so bland and mushy and wet. Also had the weird chicken in it. Peanut curry lunch. Tasted just like like peanut sauce covering everything. They forgot my egg roll so can't speak on those. The curry had a lot of the mushy chicken and almost no veggies. One broccoli, 3 large chunks of mostly raw red pepper. No peanuts. A few snow peas. Pad Thai. Not good. Weirdest and close to worst pad Thai I've ever had. It had a grainy texture to the sauce and was really thick and really bland but sweet all at once. Just a container of red mush noodles and red mush chicken. Why? I really can't understand what is happening. Is this like premade canned or frozen and super cheap so they're selling it? Pad Thai at better Thai restaurants isn't super hard to make and is much nicer. I am just super confused by it. It really reminded me of Thai cup of noodle microwave ramen-like food I've tried at Asian grocery stores. The gyoza were okay. A little harder and drier than we would have preferred and not crispy by their arrival. I could never order here again because we tried such a broad array and its quality was just horrible over all. Even the rice was mushy and very clearly not high quality jasmine rice. Nothing seemed Thai-like at all. Nothing was fresh, light, savory, or vibrant, all things I associate with food thai food. Did an Uber Eats order from here of beef pad Thai and it was really yummy! Food arrived nice and warm and with a pretty generous portion! Beef was sweet and tender, noodles and egg and sauce were very tasty. I prefer mine with a little bit more lime, but that's probably just personal preference. Would order again! read more

But they were shortstaffed and the wait for a table was 35 minutes, so we went next door to Spicy Basil. This place is a hidden gem! It has a modern decor, but traditional cuisine. They offer a variety of spicy and non-spicy dishes. I got the teriyaki chicken with vegetables. The portions were large, the food was delicious, and the service was fast and friendly. However it was overload of noodles and some noodles stuck together and were tough. The tomyum soup is not like the traditional although it is close to it, they are missing some key ingredients. I was over charged. I was charged $5 just for asking to "please add the sesame sauce on the side to keep from making food soggy" I was told they gave us extra sauce on top of what was put on the dish. There was no sauce on the dish it came out to be almost double just for this. And would not budge. I order from this restaurant at least 3 times a week!! The owners are wonderful people and they know my order from my list of allergens that I include every time I order. Because of those allergies, my food needs to be bland-ish, but my husband has had the Drunken Noodles and loves the spice and my son requests the Royal Chicken at least once a week!! The restaurant is clean and bright. The only down side is parking can be tough but there's the King Sooper's lot just a few steps away. We LOVE Thai! It's one of favorite fares. After moving here from Austin, we decided to try Spicy Basil since it was nearby. We were pleasantly surprised! We loved the sweet n spicy soup, the Tom yum leaves you wishing there was more, the panang chicken, chicken Pad Se Ew were all fantastic. We were delighted to discover that their orange chicken was not only delicious but gluten free as well. This has become a favorite staple in our home since moving to Denver. The staff is also lovely. Been going to Spicy Basil off and on for over a decade. They are consistantly mid. Huge menu is hit or miss. Stick with what you know and avoid anything fried (most of the apps). We used to love their summer rolls, but they were taken off the menu during COVID. They actually offered sashimi grade tuna as an upsell from the typical shrimp, and it was so good we'd get several orders... I hope they bring that back someday. The potstickers, pad thai, and fried rice are all good. An off menu item is pork fried rice, which is a lightly battered pork chop sliced into pieces and possibly the best thing they make. The various Chinese dishes are alright, the Thai hot & sour soup is fairly good. They have some cocktails on the menu which you should avoid, taste like they were made from a powdered mix. Overall, not a bad place, just keep your expectations reasonably low and you won't be disappointed. Everyone who works here is very nice. read more

Went here and were the first customers for dine in. The server was a little rude to begin with, I gave her the benefit of the doubt that they'd just opened. However we ordered Vietnamese egg rolls. I was shocked to find mold on the tomatoes that were served with it. There was no quality check done. We lost our appetite and asked for the check, and abandoned the main course. The server was dismissive and more upset that we canceled the order she put in, she didn't bother to ask why, and still charged us for the unappealing appetizer.
