We decided before we got to the convention center, we'd stop and buy a cup of coffee. Bula was literally across the street from where we were staying, so we walked over minutes after they opened. It was convenient. Was that the only time we made that coffee run in our 3+ days there in the neighborhood? Yes. Why? It was expensive. Neither my friend nor I buy coffee at coffee shops. So the $17 (may have been $18 after tip, don't recall) was a little bit of a sticker shock. Though our coffee was good - We both ordered the bulletproof coffee - We had all the makings of bulletproof coffee at the airbnb (We had planned on making our own coffee at the house so we had MCT oil, homemade ghee, and heavy cream). We just needed stronger coffee. So we went to the store, got some bustelo, and saved ourselves some cash. Bula is a cute little spot though. And the guy at the counter was very nice.

The two ladies working were very friendly but not that attentive or even in the building that often. I normally order a green tea but after a quick chat with the waitress I ordered a white peach tea on her recommendation which was excellent and a perfect accompaniment with the fresh salad that was served. The scone was perfect but the tiers is where I found the food to be a bit lacking with what I suspect to be store bought sweets and quiches. The cucumber dill sandwich was the best savory bite but I wasn't impressed by any of the sweets. I throughly enjoyed petting the sweet kitty named Marmalade after I paid for the tea experience. The room itself was very quaint but the floor is definitely unstable which is to be expected from a shed room. Overall I don't think I'll be back but it was a nice one and done.

I have now been here twice and have to say that both times I thoroughly enjoyed myself!…read more I have drove by this place many times and never equated it to being a quaint tea room until it was introduced to me. From the outside, it looks like a red barn thrift store. But it's actually this cute, charming thrift shop in the front, garden space in the middle section, a store front in the back side and a tea room with inside and outside seating by the pond in the far back. I love the fact that the inside tea room is stocked with different eclectic tea cup sets and that each table is decorated with a matching set for the guests. I like that you are provided a menu of the teas of the day to choose from and there is one from black tea, green tea, herbal tea and a specialty flavor. It gives a nice variety for the table to enjoy. The finger sandwiches/pastries are just the right size and I absolutely love the balsamic dressing that goes with the salad. Tea time has become one of my favorite things for a nice little time away from all the hustle and bustle of normal every day life.

I usually order a white kratom with lemon juice and tell them to surprise me with the flavors that they choose, and I have not been disappointed so far, and don't believe that I ever will be! They also have kava kava here (which is best with coconut milk and cinnamon, in my opinion) and they have lattes and a large selection of teas! They also have interesting things to try like blue lotus and kanna! I will always go here! It's such an amazing and welcoming vibe! Muah!
