As nervous as I was Dr. Dang and his staff really put me at ease. And to my surprise, he was able to numb me up instantly!! All procedures are explained ahead of time, and even on video for some. What a great process! Here's what I noticed: - Lots of hand sanitizer once you walk in - They immediately check your temperature and oxygen levels upon walking in - Fill out a short form re: covid - No magazines or any common things that can shared is present in the office - I noticed the front desk immediately wiped down every surface I touched (pen, clipboard for form, etc) - When getting my teeth x-rayed and cleaned, Jan wore a full face shield, goggles, and mask - They have earplugs for you to use as they use a big vacuum system near your mouth when cleaning so that everything is sucked I think it is amazing how they've adapted to COVID! Also wanted to say I've been coming here for years and am impressed every time. My appointments are always on time, no waiting around in the waiting room for extended amounts of time. Parking is validated. Front desk is professional, competent, and friendly. My dental hygienist Jan is awesome!! I'm usually in and out of my appointment very quickly. I highly recommend Dr. Hayashi. There have been a handful of times I've had a different hygienist because of schedule, and they're all great.

The least satisfying was dentist, cause most people hate going to the dentist, tooth pain and needles aren't the best to be associated with. Plus you can't be having deep conversations while having work done in your mouth. I've always had a phobia going to the dentist from being traumatized from being strapped down in the dental chair as a child, while having dental work done. I would cry the whole way to the dentist, I'd imagine the same way a dog fears the vet. Then enter Dr. Hayashi and his amazing staff! I now look forward and get excited about going to the dentist. Over the years, Dr. Hayashi, Jan, Nancy, Jovi and Lori have not only become friends but they feel like family. They are just so genuinely caring to their patients it's heartfelt. Their appointment system sends you an email and text to remind you of your appointment and confirming is just a click away. Whether it's a regular cleaning with Jan the hygienist, she always has the biggest smile and best hugs. I love her so much! She is always so thorough and takes time to give you tips on brushing and protecting your gums from receding. A visit with Dr. Hayashi for any dental work is always a pleasant one. Over the years, I've had to have some fillings replaced, my teeth filled in where my gums had receded, a root canal (was referred to a great specialist), two crowns put on (they have a machine that makes the crown in house and you get it done in the same visit, no more temporary crown to deal with). A chair that massages, say what?? Can I just say, I HATE NEEDLES, so whenever I need to be numbed up for dental work, it's never my favorite. Dr. Hayashi does it with such care and expertise, I barely even feel the prick! He's called in the evening after some major dental work just to check up on me. Who does that?? So appreciative of his personalize touch! Dr. Hayashi and Nancy the office manager always explains billing clearly so you know what to expect. I remember my first few visits when I had to have a lot of dental work done due to not going to the dentist for years. The bill was going to be very costly. Nancy went to work and learned that my insurance coverage from the previous year could carry over per my plan because I hadn't used it. That saved me SO MUCH money. We would time my appointments to best take advantage of my insurance as it renews each calendar year, prioritizing what needed to be done first and what could wait. I felt so grateful that she took that extra step to care about my pocket. There's been a few times I've needed to go in for an emergency appointment and they always manage to fit me in within a few hours. Parking is validated in their garage and the entrance to it on Alakea Street. I really can't say enough positive things about Dr. Hayashi and his team. In life, finding a doctor and dentist that you trust and can rely is critical. I am so lucky and blessed to have found Dr. Hayashi's office. They absolutely come with my HIGHEST recommendation!
