Dr. Uchida should be put in jail. He took my money, did a bad job, and then blamed it all on me. He did the All-on-4 procedure for my upper and lower jaw. Charged me $54,000.00 which I paid in two payments upfront. Told me everything would be fine and that he's an "Expert." He's no expert and not even an implant specialist. He is a General Dentist and a crook! After the procedure was done my bite was off. I went back for adjustments but every time I went in he would blame me for his junk work. The teeth were so off that it cause one of the implants to fail and again he blamed it on me. He's the one that's supposed to make my bite good, that's why I did the upper and lower together. He even made me do Botox to try and solve his problem. Less than a year later, my new teeth on the upper and lower broke. I think the implants and materials he used are cheap and couldn't hold up and that he never fixed the bite properly. He again blamed it on me and refused to even fix it. Since I had no money left, I was of no use to him. He's only concerned with money and driving around in his fancy car. The only reason I didn't sue him is because I don't want to continue this nightmare. I'm pau. Yea he might get away with this on me but this is Hawaii and word will get out that he is a crook and a no good dentist. I left the below review for Dr. Uchida's Honolulu office location but would also like to share here since Dr. Uchida works out of 2 different offices and has 2 different yelp profiles for each location: Do not go to this dentist he is a nightmare! He seems to have a personality disorder and will yell at his patients and staff. The worst part is he hurts his patients when performing work. How is it that I am having work done on the left side of my mouth and when I awake from the procedure my ENTIRE mouth is cut up and my tongue had lacerations on the right side. He prescribes sedation pills so you are sleeping during the procedure and completely unaware of what is happening. It was only when the anesthesia wore off after I left his office did I realize how bad I was hurt. I feel like he did it on purpose because he was not happy that I returned to his office to fix the bad work he did previously. He will overcharge you and recommend having work done that is not even necessary just to make more money. I know this because I am now at another dentist who took Xrays of my mouth and said that I don't need to have the additional work done that Dr. Uchida said I did. Not to mention, he uses cheap materials so your teeth, implants, bonding etc.. will keep breaking and you will have to keep going back in, and he will charge everytime even though it's his fault. I think that's the plan so he continues making money off of his patients. Please stay away from this place this dentist is unethical and will seriously hurt someone one day. read more

Dr. Uchida and his team are experts at complex dental procedures. They are also kind and trustworthy and treat you like extended family. They have gone the extra mile for me every time I have had issues that had to be taken care of. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Smiles Forever in my opinion is the best dental office I have experienced. Dr. Uchida and his staff are very personable and offer superior service. My first experience with Dr. Uchida was having one of my fillings replaced, I didnt feel a thing and I was out in less than a 1/2 hour. The assistants there are very helpful and go above and beyond what is expected, I even received a follow up call inquiring about any complications which I didnt have. My second experience was a general cleaning which went very smoothly, no discomfort at all during the entire process. I have been to many different Dental offices and Smiles Forever uses the latest state of the art equipment and the staff ensures your experience is a great one. I have seen young toddlers to elders at Smiles Forever and I would highly recommend Dr. Uchida and his staff to anyone of all ages! read more

Dr. Uchida happened to walk into my workplace on the day my toothache got really bad. It felt like the nerve was exposed to air and it just constantly had waves of blindingly annoying pain. I had initially just wanted to ask if there was a product I could use to help with the pain. Dr. Uchida checked his schedule and got me in as soon as he had an opening that day! He took out enough of the nerve for there to be no pain and it was one of the most pleasant visits to a dentist that I have experienced. The staff knew their jobs very well and were just a blur of efficiency. Even the new girl in training already seemed competent and any time she had a question the others were more than happy to clarify things for her. On a side note, while I waited in the front a couple of his regulars came in and the girls in the front and even Dr. Uchida said hello and talked for a bit. Everyone is just awesomely friendly! LOVE this place. I'm such a big baby when I go to the dentist but this place is awesome! They gave me sedation pills because (like I said) I'm a BIG baby! I got all my dental work here. Got my wisdom tooth taken out and a bridge put in and I felt NO pain!! After I woke up from my nap I wanted to eat! That's was how awesome Dr. Uchida's work is! Once I was eating and a filling (that another doctor did) fell out and Dr. Uchida was able to get me in the same day and worked miracles! The staff was super friendly and the place is amazing! Hi-tech equipments were also nice. I'd suggest this place to anyone!! read more

I've been going there for years now after being introduced by my mother who is very happy with their great service! Being elderly, she's had major dental work done and never had to have rework done because it wasn't done properly. I'm also happy with their friendly and professional staff. Plenty of parking and they also have a location in town which I have gone to on a couple occasions. read more

If Dr. Uchida's office took my insurance I wouldn't go anywhere else for dental care. But I did have an emergency when I broke a tooth, and called them because they were close by. they took me on as a new walk in patient that day! I left with a temporary crown and later got my permanent one. this was expensive without insurance but at least I felt like I got my money's worth. His staff was really good. I've had crowns before, but never one where there was absolutely no discomfort. This was a first for that. No discomfort at all. Amazing. HIs TV ads and advertising seem to push cosmetic dentistry, but he does do general. I'm honestly sad that I can't be a regular patient, but I have to use my insurance. He does take some, so maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones. Wish I was. PS: only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because I can't go there! :( read more

Dr. Uchida is a good guy. He took out 2 of my wisdom teeth in 30 mins or less. I didn't have a panic attack in the chair. I wish I got my other 2 taken out but instead I went to the V.A. to save money. Wrong choice!!! I sat in the V.A. Chair for 3 hours as the dr struggled with my wisdom. I got up and shook the drs hand and left after he asked me if I was ready for the last wisdom tooth. Dr. Uchida get ready I'm coming back with my last wisdom tooth standing. Thanks Doc. My husband and I were both patients at Smiles Forever for many years. Unfortunately, we had to move off island and now we always comment on how we wish we could find a dentist as good as Dr. Uchida.
