The restaurant is more of a sports bar feel that serves your standard bar beverages and has decent food. Similar restaurant would be Buffalo Wild Wings but I find that I like the food options here much more unless I'm really craving wings. I ordered a wet burrito and to my surprise it was delicious. The red sauce they use was amazing. It has a creamy flavor and isn't too acidic which I usually find with most reed sauces. The highly acidic ones are usually store no bought canned sauce. The beer wasn't flat so that's a win at a sport bar. The inside was overly noisy but that is expected for a sports bar. The downside to this place was the service. Our order was taken and we really didn't see much of the server after that. For some that may be alright but with today's expectation of a tip I would like to see the server more than twice. I usually avoid this by going to the bar but it was full so we had to sit at a table. read more

Uccello's is a chain so this location offers the same menu (well, at least a very similar menu, not sure if they're exactly the same or vary by location) as other Uccello's. I came here for lunch while attending a nearby conference. I got pizza puffs to share as an appetizer, and Cobb salad. The salad was great, very fresh and good portion size for lunch! The food and the staff are fantastic. It was so good that if I had been in town another night I would have gone back again, there were so many other things on the menu I wanted to try. I would give them 3.5 stars if that was an option. We came around 4:45 on Thursday and had no wait, which was awesome. Our waitress was super friendly and knowledgable, made us feel comfortable and kept our water glasses full. Our food was pretty good- although our pasta came almost immediately after our appetizer- which is a little suspicious. The penne with tomato cream sauce was really watery- unexpected for a cream sauce. We also were missing some fresh cheese grated on top. I'm not sure if we're dying to come back. read more

We're here for work, so coming in late at night comes with a price of, "which place at walking distance would still have their kitchen open?" So we ran the handy dandy Yelp app in my super awesome Samsung Galaxy S9 Phone with the amazing retina scan. We saw that this spot is still serving food. So we walked over from our uber posh Amway Grand hotel and parked ourselves at the bar. Our awesome bartender came and did our order. Buffalo Hot Wings: These guys are pretty good. Were big time spicy connoisseurs and this guy is respectable. Chunky blue cheese dip was definitely a perfect combination. Seafood Pizza: Phenomenal,, this pizza is extremely yummy. Perfect seafood flavors that's super euphoria in my mouth. I'd have this dish over and over and over and over again. The setting is a bit all over the place. In GR for the night. Hotel suggested Uccello. So glad they did. Great pasta, great environment, great price. Watched Mahomes and the Chiefs on one of the many TV's. Husband got spaghetti and meatballs. I got penne and tomato cream sauce. Both great as well as the ciabatta bread and oil . They had outside dining as well. This place is locally loved, but I wouldn't eat at this location again. We waited quite a long time to be seated even though at the time the whole restaurant was empty, which was odd as a party of only 5. My main problem was with a specific dish and the lack of training our server seemed to have. The Chicken Marsala was overly sweet, almost like candy, and stuck to your teeth. One of our party members had to get something to go instead because he couldn't stomach it. Our server seemed to be freshly out of high school, which usually isn't a problem, but lacked the training or people skills to be adequately servicing our table. I don't necessarily blame her, it is management's responsibility to make sure their employees are trained properly. First time visit for me in Grand Rapid for business and at Occellos's. I arrived in GR later Sunday and most places were still closed due to Covid. The restaurant came as a recommendation from the hotel desk and was pretty close by. I sat inside and first ordered a glass of red wine (I don't recall the vineyard). I got a small plate of great tasting breadsticks with olive oil sea salt and what I believe was oregano. For the entree I ordered the seafood risotto. It was delicious although the added asparagus was a little surprising. The amount of shrimp and small scallops were generous (I did not notice much crab meat) and delicious. The rice was still al dente and creamy, which is what I would expect. Overall a quick but great dinner. read more

The ambiance is simple & dark with a lot of tvs for sports watching. Be prepared, this location is always busy especially during football season. Ordered Delivery for my birthday. Got two hanger steaks and pizza puffs. The hanger steaks were completely unseasoned and ICE COLD. However the pizza puffs were still warm as well as the sauce. Which tells me they cooked the steaks and let them sit while they did the rest of the order. I couldn't even finish mine. The pizza puffs were okay, a little too salty. I selected Sub Fries on both of the steaks, neither had fries. Unbelievably disappointing for $80. read more

Holy crap that was good pizza!!! The place was poppin so there was a 30 minute wait before we were seated. They made up for it though because the pizza came at lightning speeds. The Uccello family has opened a modern downtown location in a centralized spot on Monroe Center. They hardly changed anything from the previous restaurant so the layout is still pretty bad. The entry way and server station located in the middle of the dining room is a pain. We waited about 30 minutes for a table around 8pm on a Saturday, which wasn't bad at all. Our server struggled throughout the night and I'm just hoping he was new. He was very awkward to interact with and he hardly came around. When we asked for a box for our large stuffed pizza, he brought a small styrofoam box instead of the big cardboard pizza boxes. When he brought our bill, he didn't bring a pen, so we sat and waited for him to come back. The stuffed pizza has been something we go to Uccello's for at every location. It takes a little longer but it's usually well worth it. It was a little on the soggy side but it's always great heated up the next few days. We also ordered the huge bowl of strawberry cheesecake and tiramisu. Both were delicious and we ate every piece. Overall, another quality sports bar downtown that offers something for everyone. It's small and tight but the outdoor patio is a great option if you don't need a TV. read more

I wasn't sure how to word this, because another customer was throwing a fit. My wife and I really wanted pasta and pizza and went here Sat night. Limited street parking, nearby garages. Inside is a fairly typical urban sparse wanna be trendy pizza place and bar. Sports TVs. My pizza was really marginal. The toppings and sauce were okay, but the crust was like dry breadsticks with the only flavor being sesame. My wife's pasta was really good. There was a family at the neighboring table. The kids were unhappy to be there, the worst being a teen girl acting out because she wanted good pasta. She was so loud and dramatic I took a video but decided not to post. The pizza isn't wonderful, but the pasta was good and there was nothing worth throwing a fit over. read more

We found this place while visiting Grand Rapids. The food felt authentic Italian with a twist. The wings were perfect not over saucy and messy good flavor and big for chicken wings. I'm in town for a conference. Chose this place because of the great outside seating option and it was within short walking distance from the hotel. Everyone was polite. Just wondering what other people's views are on the 3% added fee if you pay by credit card. All these years their prices have covered that expense but now suddenly they can't? And their prices have gone up quite a bit in the last few years...the bacon cheeseburger (the best, by the way!) is now $14; used to $10...that's a 40% increase in the past few years. And now on top of that, you pay an extra 3% if you pay by cc. Asked the server last time, and the only way around it is to pay cash. Seems a risky move to me. read more

I have lived in GR for five years and visit UCELLOS frequently with family and friends because it's a one stop shop for everybody and meets everyone's needs. I've had very consistent and delicious food and have never had an issue with service, safety or quality. I felt compelled to leave a review after reading another person's review that they got food poisoning "immediately". As someone who is serve safe certified and has been in the restaurant business and owned my own food truck, you do not get food poisoning immediately. There are, however, many other types of viruses you can pick up in public places that general handwashing prevent illness from. Those usually have nothing to do with the restaurant. Posting negative reviews without facts is detrimental to business owners. And knowing UCELLOS and the staff, they take great care in providing a safe and friendly dining experiences. Proceed with caution if you're relying on that person's review. General handwashing is a great preventative in public spaces where you are consuming food and beverages! read more
