I have very mixed feelings about this location. The first time I came here (back in September), I was told that if I dropped my phone off before 3pm it would be fixed the same day. I arrived a little after that, and my phone was repaired and ready the next day with no issues -- so my first experience was positive. Four months later, my screen started malfunctioning with no physical damage, which should have been covered under warranty. I scheduled an appointment online for Monday, drove 30 minutes, and when I arrived the store was closed, even though both the website and phone system still said they were open. There was no notice or update. I called the next day before driving there again and was met with attitude about them not notifying anyone they had been closed. When I arrived later that afternoon around 4:15pm to drop off my phone, the entrance still wasn't shoveled. I had to climb through snow just to get inside. The next day, I was charged $99 by my insurance because the claim was automatically changed from "warranty" to "accidental damage," even though the repair was not accidental. (This was done by the insurance company, not the store.) When I went to pick up my phone, I was told my SIM card tray was missing -- which was not true, as it was in the phone when I handed it over. It was inside an OtterBox-style case that snaps together, so it couldn't have just fallen out. The employee I originally gave the phone to claimed it was never there, while the employee helping me at pickup (who was much kinder) offered to order a replacement. I ended up ordering one myself because either way I would have had to wait two days -- but if the store ordered it, I would have had to drive 30 minutes back to pick it up. It made more sense to just pay the $6 and have it delivered to my house. That said, I want to give huge credit to the second employee who helped me with the insurance issue. He spent nearly an hour on the phone fighting with the insurance company, dealing with dropped calls and transfers, all while still helping other customers, just to make sure I wasn't wrongly charged. He didn't have to do that, and I truly appreciate him for going above and beyond. Because of him, my experience went from incredibly frustrating to being handled with genuine care and effort. I just wish the overall process, scheduling, and communication, was more consistent and professional. read more

I have a Samsung S23 Ultra, I bought a screen protector for it but procrastinated in putting it on and managed to scratch the screen. Being the thinker that I am, I used a mild compound to buff out the scratch using my Dremel tool. I either pushed too hard or went too fast with the tool and wound up damaging the display leaving a gold spot right in the middle. I learned the hard way that you shouldn't do this. I have driven by uBreakifix several times. I decided to go in and get my phone fixed and was greeted by Pierre. He was really friendly and professional. The repair took about 3 hours. When I went back to pick it up, I was greeted by David who was also very friendly and professional. My phone was as good as new. They did a great job in a timely manner. DO NOT bring in electronics to be repaired. I repeat, DO NOT bring electronics in! They give you a quote and appointment time to then completely change the time and cost when you're there in person. I was told it would be $200 to replace a cracked screen on an iPhone and that the appointment would only take 45 mins. However, when I arrived in person for my appointment, I was told it would actually be $380 and would take closer to 2 hours... such a waste of time. Why say one thing to have people come in to only change EVERYTHING when you get there. Save yourself the headache and don't even bother going to this location. I had UbreakIfix Newington replace the cracked screen on my laptop. It took two weeks to complete and cost me the price of a brand-new laptop of the same make and model. That is suboptimal, but I agreed to it. They inexplicably emailed me in French to let me know that the repair was complete. All previous and subsequent conversation was in English, so I don't know why that happened. I replied to the email requesting follow-up information which they never responded to. I called and left a voicemail requesting the same information, and they never responded to that either. When they eventually returned my laptop to me, their replacement screen has a dead pixel on it. They replaced my screen with a defective part. After finally getting in touch with them by contacting their corporate contact info, UbreakIfix Newington has refused to refund me, even in part, unless I return the device to the store and wait another indeterminate amount of time to have them remove the defective part from my laptop (which would leave me with a useless, screen-less laptop). Save yourself the hassle, just buy a replacement. It won't be cheaper or easier to have these folks repair it. read more

I created a work order online. Printed the label and boxed up the product as instructed. I also wrote my repair number on the box cause it wasn't on the label. I called the store days later cause I hadn't heard anything and was informed they hadn't been able to locate that repair number in their system, we compared the number and it did match the one I was emailed. They eventually found the phone. In the end a one day repair took nearly a week and a half. It then took another almost a week to mail it back. The icing on the cake? One of their techs seems to have found my business after I left them a review on their website. Today they left my business a 1 star review...cutting and pasting my exact review from their business to mine. Makes zero sense but is nasty and unprofessional. read more

Brought my phone in for a screen replacement. Got the phone back the same day. A few days later, I noticed the top part of the screen was lifting. Then I noticed the back of my phone was bent. I went back and they told me that they noticed this when I brought it in, and they were supposed to tell me about it when I picked it up, but conveniently they forgot. I never knew how much i have gotten use to having a cell phone until it was gone. So i called them and drove. Dropped off phone. They said about 2hrs to repair. I went to a movie. I have a new Note 10+ with a cracked screen. Samsung had a complicated process to complete the fix for free. I received an approval, but didn't know it expired in 4 hours. The people at UBreakIFix applied for a new approval and fixed it completely. This was done during the COVID-19 crisis, where their customers were cranky and frustrated. My screen cracked and Verizon sent me here (insured loss). I dropped the phone off and they told me it would be ready in only 3 hours. But when I got home I got a message saying it was ready; they had fixed it only an hour and a half! The manager was very friendly and knowledgeable. I knew Verizon had sold me inadequate physical protection for the phone and I asked him for ideas; he suggested first class stuff and rather than try to sell me the stuff himself he sent me to the Best Buy down the street, who had the stuff, so he spent time with me and gave me good advice and didn't make any money on it! The screen of my iPhone was broken. I went online to find local dealerships that could fix it for me. Google search turned up to you break I fix store in Newington. I set the appointment online and they sent me a $10 off email for using the webpage. I dropped off my phone and they called me and told me it was fixed. I came back to pay and they told me they don't honor that email that they sent me. I asked then why are you sending the email since this is your store and the woman did not have an answer for me I asked her contact information for the owner and the woman conveniently did not have that information for me either. Picked it up and it works fine. It has been working for a number of days. I really appreciated the quick turnaround because I was prepared to go buy a temporary low end Chromebook for $150 to get by. I made an appt through the website. I brought my phone in at the the time of my appt and was told it would be approximately 2 hours. I waited in my car as I didn't leave close by. Wanted this to be a great experience. Appointment scheduling was constantly canceled by the store, they were nice enough to call and advise, and schedule something over the phone, but the website was a big let down. First try, new parts failed. Second try, new parts failed. Long wait on third try, weeks, and one sided communication, but they were nice enough to answer each time I reached them, with some insight. Finally, left with a working phone on third try. The fix, partially failed a couple days later, but I can work around the issue in Android. After all the effort, was hoping for better results. They didn't charge me what they spent in time, so that was a nice make-good for the delays and multi-trys. Nice guys, and I'm sure this was not the typical experience, but I found their weaknesses unfortunately. read more

Everyone in this store goes beyond the call of duty as far as I'm concerned. Especially the manager Piérre. With this time, and 2 other times in recent past. It's definitely better to get a cracked screen fixed there than mobile guys coming to your house or job, as these guys are certified to do more including new battery & OEM parts from Samsung free if under warranty. Amazing. And they even act as buffer with cranky Asurion insurance employees. My only complaint is that this store isn't closer to where I live! Open another store near Bradley in between Hartford & Springfield please. But seriously, couldn't ask for more. I'm not their friends personally, not did I get a bribe to give this review. LOL. Only constructive criticism would be for the store itself (corporate) would be great if the store had more products, and better WiFi (for both clients or employees to do things like SmartSwitch). My boyfriend and I went to this location to fix his Google Pixel 2. We brought in a perfectly good phone that just needed a new battery - we picked up a piece of junk that couldn't even be unlocked because the screen was entirely unresponsive. The techs not only scratched the front screen and left a crack that wasn't there when we dropped it off, but they decided to say the motherboard suddenly was broken after we picked up the phone and asked why it wasn't functional at all. The voicemail they left the night before did not mention anything at all like this. Our guess is an amateur installed the new battery and fried the motherboard in the process because the phone had an overheat warning in the logs during the time when the tech would've been operating on it. We have spoken with 3 customer service representatives now regarding what happened. The latest had the nerve to propose we PAY for them to fix it so we could send the phone back to Google in good enough condition for them to issue a replacement. An absolute scam, YouTube a how to video and diy the fix. It'll probably work out better than bringing to this retailer. Also the store has contacted us and threatened to ban us from using any ubreakifix retailer ever again in the future if we don't take down our negative, honest reviews from Google reviews. I made a Yelp account just to post this review. Brought a Pixel 2 in for a screen replacement, and they forgot to screw the ribbon cable in. Because the two screws were missing, the ribbon cable came loose, and the screen stopped showing a display. No cracks in LCD. Brought the phone back in and told them that the ribbon cable was loose, they told me that it was a cracked LCD and I'd have to pay for a new screen. Opened the phone myself: ribbon cable was not screwed in. Called them about this, and was told that because I am out of warranty they will not fix their mistake. Come on guys, at least give me my two screws back before you screw me. Edit: In response to the owner's comment below: the fix that your technicians performed was not up to standard for a Google Authorized Repair Partner. They forgot to replace pieces that they took out of my phone, which lead to my phone malfunctioning outside of your 90 day warranty. How could I possibly know your employees' error without opening the phone myself? I brought my phone into your store and asked for a free diagnostic. They did not notice that the pieces which connect the ribbon cable were not installed. They told me that the ribbon cable being loose was not the problem. After being told that my un-cracked LCD was the problem, and that I'd have to pay $129.99 for a repair, of course I opened the phone to check their work for myself. I would advise other customers not to give uBreakiFix Newington their business, because they will fail to properly service your phone, and then hide behind their "void if opened" warranty so that you cannot check their shoddy handiwork. read more

This location deserves a ZERO star rating. My daughter went to this location THREE times to get her phone screen fix (she has the insurance). The first 2 times she was met with hostility from a female associate and was told she needed to come back as the screen for her phone was on back order. The 3rd time she was met by the SAME female associate who met my daughter with a lot of eye rolling. Wide eyed, eye brow raised, hostile voice. She was most UNHELPFUL and rude. After many interactions between this associate, my daughter and my daughters boyfriend, a (what I can only hope to assume is a manager) man came from the back of the store to assist. The female associate proceeded to walk in the back of the store and proceeded to speak very loudly to a man back there and was talking a lot of smack about my daughter who could CLEARLY hear her in the store. My daughter brought this to the attention of the manager and he said he would address this situation. Upon leaving this store the associate came back out and stared my daughter down with the same eye bulging, eyebrow raised look she had throughout their entire interaction. Once arriving home my daughter discovered that her phone is now in worse shape than it was when she initially brought it there. She now has to return to said location and deal with this unprofessional team yet again, for a 4th time. This is unacceptable. I will be contacting my cell phone carrier and informing them of the place they are sending their customers to.
