If I could do 0 stars I would. Reserved a trip to the airport a week early, got notification of the trip, even the morning of and the driver never came. No way to contact as the trip never registered. They need a better way to be accountable. As a business traveler you almost learn to expect issues when traveling, so Uber is best for big cities only. My sister and I took Uber from BethelPark to Monroeville Pittsburgh pa , it costs me $37, and today at the same time , my sister and her daughter took Uber too from BethelPark to Pittsburgh downtown it costs her $94 with 3 luggage!!!!! Outstanding, we were in Pittsburgh the weekend of nov 12th to attend a football game. CAUTION!!!! Don't be ripped off. I was invited to use a $25 discount on my first ride. I tried to check this discount before I booked the taxi and my account just showed a discount was applied. To be sure I tried to use a code I was given that was for a $15 discount. So, I took my first ride from downtown to Pittsburgh Int'l Airport. The fare was $49!!!! It was on a Monday at about 1:00. Instead of the promised $25, I was only give $5. I ordered an UberX and what came was UberXL. My fare was twice the amount my husband paid a few days earlier. Yellow cab would have been $40 and the super shuttle would have been $25. I have tried to work with Uber to straighten this out. I have even sent pictures of the offer for $15 off and yet they only took $5 off my first ride. BE WARNED. . .verify your discount and fare. DO NOT TRUST this company. Check and double check. Surge pricing is horribly expensive and happens at random times. If you take Uber out somewhere and then 10 minutes later want a ride back, you may suddenly be paying extreme surge pricing. We're talking $25 for a 5-mintue ride. And drivers sometimes lie to you about waiting for you with the meter on, and instead end the ride so that they can get the surge pricing that's started up. Every time I've tried using uber in Pittsburgh my request is constantly declined (the drivers call me and rudely tell me to cancel my request because they don't want to pick me up) because they are too busy sitting at the airport waiting for "better customers". Waited on the North Shore for TWO HOURS after Beerfest. App kept bouncing between 2 minutes and 15 minutes. Watched other people that came out after us getting picked up. Finally called Yellow Cab and waited 15 minutes (while watching Uber claim 2 minutes/10 minutes) and took Yellow Cab home. Never again, Uber! read more

One of the best services out there! Their app is extremely accurate and helpful. My husband's car broke down and I enlisted the help of a friend to get him home safely. Uber picked him up in a very reasonable amount of time in Brentwood and took him to Pleasant Hills in a clean car with a respectable driver. Tipping not necessary as it is part of the fare, I was able to pay with a credit card and could follow exactly where the driver was every moment. I am putting other for a number of reasons asked above. Really, I wish I could check them all. First off, the second I stepped in the car I knew I was going to be uncomfortable the whole way. The driver's windshield has a number significant cracks that made me wonder whether or he had noticed them because they did not look safe, at all. Second of all, I began to experience the driver's driving style a mere minute into the hour-long ride. This man is not a safe driver. The things he does may be okay to do on your own, but not with a nauseous passenger in the back. This driver speeds, runs red lights, and swerves unexpectedly. His overall attitude was that of an arrogant "Pittsburgh native" that knew the streets better than anyone else. I could not believe it. I had allotted enough time to make it to my flight so there was no need to practice unsafe driving. Hell, I did not even tell the driver about my flight time until we neared the end of this trip. The driver said he knew a "few shortcuts" to the airport. However, having felt cheated in the past, I made sure to use my own Google Maps to see where exactly he was taking me. The initial "shortcuts" seemed a little odd, but nothing too extreme. It was towards the end that everything went wrong. Truthfully, besides the moderately reckless driving, the first 35 minutes were okay, by some standards unbeknownst to me. The real headache of this whole ordeal was the trip route. I have used Uber on multiple occasions to get to the airport. Every time, I simply type in Pittsburgh International Airport, and every time, the ride goes smoothly. However, for whatever reason, we went to a town called Moon that bordered the corporate and private sector of the airport. Ultimately, we ended up underneath the airport's control tower, in a private road. This has never happened to me. The driver asked me if I had typed in the correct address. I could only mutter out a "yeah, I think so". I had, unfortunately, though that this was one of the "shortcuts" the driver knew to get to the airport faster. The driver turned around and stopped in the middle of the road to ask for directions. Afterwards, he told me that I should contact Uber and tell them that I had put in the right address, but the app had malfunctioned or something. He said he would attest to the fact that I did, indeed, put the address in right. A few minutes later he guaranteed that I would not have to pay for this trip. I arrived to the airport 20-30 minutes behind schedule. It was because of the airport employees kindness that I was able to be placed at the front of a security checkpoint. I made it to my flight with 3 minutes to spare. This trip cost me a lot of extra time and money. The airport employees had sympathized with me. Hopefully, you will too. read more
