May 2025 uber Greensburg, Pa was booked two days in advance for a ride to the Pittsburgh airport. 20 minutes before pick up notified driver was on the way. 10 minutes before received a message " looking for Driver". At pick up time notified there was no driver available. There was no time to find a different ride and make it to the airport on time for the flight. We had a very pleasant Uber experience in our trip in Pittsburgh last weekend. We had to be at the train station very early so we used the app to book a ride the day before. It was intuitive and easy to navigate but we'd never reserved a car in advance. But we got a text that our driver was on his way well in advance of the scheduled time. There were a couple subsequent texts keeping us up to speed and Ahmad arrived 5 minutes early. He hopped out and put our bags in the car and made sure I got in securely because I was limping pretty bad, and using a cane, thanks to a tumble down some stairs the day before. The SUV was immaculate and had a very smooth ride, Ahmad did a great job getting us to Amtrak in short order and once again handled our bags. Everything went perfectly and smoothly from start to finish. Bottom line: I know experiences can vary wildly but the app functioned perfectly and Ahmad was super professional with a nice ride. They punish drivers for not accepting $2 trips that go 14 miles. The reason for low acceptances is because Uber does not pay enough. If Uber would pay more then people wouldn't have to wait so long for rides or their food. Then they punish the drivers to where their acceptance rate stops them from getting to the next tier of benefits. Uber does not care about the drivers or the people working for them. I've had great luck using Uber. I especially like that I can watch the arrival of my driver on my Uber client. They arrive much faster than a cab, and it's less money. My driver is usually very courteous and I arrive quickly at my destination. When I was in Philadelphia I used uberPool, and that was even cheaper. It takes too long to book a ride and when you do finally get a driver after almost an hour finding a driver, the driver will either take the order and then cancel or they'll take all day to get to you. I've been relying on ubers all week to get to work and each day I've been getting to work late! The drivers will make personal stops before even getting to you. One driver took the trip but was in target for almost 45 mins before getting to me. another was sitting at a gas station and when I messaged asking if they were still coming because I didn't see them moving on the map, the driver then canceled the ride after having me wait for almost an hour. Now today, my driver is taking his good ole time getting to me after i booked my ride at 5:15am and it's now an hour later and he's still not here. uber is the wors. I don't uber often, but when I do, it is uber great. I live in a close suburb of the city and there are usually cars within at least a 10 minute window. It is a $12-$20 ride into the city. Nice drivers, safe rides. Who could ask for more? I would like to add that I have never hit a surge time (when ride demand is up). I recently left the South Side at Midnight on a Saturday night, completely expecting a surge , but nothing. If I had to choose a flaw in their great business plan, it is that I cannot request a driver, it is all random. I used Uber four times while in Pittsburgh. Truly professional and serviceminded. Supernice, new and clean cars all the way. I got a female driver for the first time - the ride was like a spa treatment: lemon scented and soft music. She offered water and candy. One car didn't find us on a busy block - he called immediately to make sure he found us. Coming by plane from Miami where Uberdriver get tickets driving to/from airport - I wish I had knew Uber was accepted in Pittsburgh already at the airport. While in Pittsburgh for work I just left my car parked and used Uber to get around when too far to walk. I used it 4 times each was very prompt after my request, 2 drives we're excellent! Clean cars, nice music, easy conversation with the drivers. 1 was still great though the driver was less engaging. The last was good, not a good conversationalist but a decent driver. All we're safe, cheaper than a taxi. Just watch out for peak traffic times or you'll get stuck in it and pay more. I highly recommend!! read more

I called for a ride when I was outside convention center. My pin showed exact location. According to my app, Driver drove around on other side of center and I thought he would come around to where I was waiting. It is quite a distance to other side. No communication from driver except that he suddenly cancelled. I called again and was picked up very quickly by another driver. This review is for UberEats. A month or so ago, we'd ordered from a new Indian bbq that opened near Whole Foods. I tracked in the app that our order was taken, then got notified that the order was picked up by the driver and would be at the house in 6 minutes. Right after that notice, we got another that said the driver canceled our order. Now while my credit card WAS credited the amount of the order, that was the ONLY good thing that happened. The restaurant in question confirmed that the order was picked up, so where was my food? I've used Uber and UberEats and I have to say I'm not overly impressed. (With a few times that were exceptions of being very good.) The rides are expensive and double in an instant! I didn't know drivers rate you and one driver was rude asking me why I didn't have a 5 star rating. Ummm...I didn't know they rated passengers. I feel like I'm in an episode of "Black Mirror!" Anyways...I'll use them if I have to or when we're at my BF's in Edgewood since they seem more a available. We both have agreed that numerous of our Uber drivers are "risky" drivers where didn't feel overly safe. They also use a navigation system that isn't accurate. I had to give my last Uber driver the correct way to my house since the navigation system had us going all sorts of wrong way. And I've had more issues with inconsistency and so on with UberEats that I deleted that particular app. read more

I came to Uber advance technology center because we thought they did tours, similar to the Google tours, BUT no apparently they don't. We walked far - from the Omni Hotel as we are tourists from Boston here for an Anesthesia conference (20-30 min walk). We went inside and the guy at the front desk said there are no tour so fine, we decided to call an Uber back to the hotel. We were waiting inside and the Uber on my phone said 5 minutes until it arrives. The front desk then said we had to get out of the building and wait for the Uber outside.. in 90 degrees weather. He said it was employees only inside the building. So we did go outside. We stood in the shade and was waiting for our Uber still. Then 2 "security guards" came outside and told us that we can't stand there and had to go out to the curb in the sun.. like are you KIDDING ME? I never write review because frankly, I hate this website. Usually it's filled with nothing but whiny entitled customers ruining the reputation of a family owned business because they didn't get their damn burrito out fast enough. However, I had to make an exception with uber. Uber is SO UNRELIABLE. ITS IMPOSSIBLE to plan a trip ahead of time because I swear EVERY SINGLE TIME I order an uber there's REDICULOUS surge pricing. 2.1 times the normal rate on a Tuesday at 2:00pm? REALLY? It's come to the point where I am just so frustrated I uninstalled the app. Use to use them very frequently but I swear every single time nowadays there is surge pricing. Not everybody can afford that. Especially us, with my pregnant girlfriend it's imperative we get to our appointments and on time and every dollar spent could be used towards our first child's care. I do have the money but I REFUSE to pay three times the rate when I'm going 10 miles to her doctor's. A trip that would cost $15 is now $60. Therefore, uber is UBER UNRELABLE. Stop being so greedy uber. Your drivers are nothing but your sheep, and you treat them that way. But I feel like soon enough they will realize this and move on. One can only hope.
