Don't plan on getting picked up by Yellow if you are in Lawrenceville past midnight. I waited for over an hour for Yellow Cab on a visit two months ago and the driver never showed. We ended up getting a ride by a mysterious guy who drives a car with no cab markings named "Mr. C" or something. Last weekend we were in the process of waiting over an hour when I decided to download the Lyft application. I had a ride lined up, an ETA and an actual conversation with the driver within minutes.

Big D!

I have honestly never had such good luck with a cab company. Ever. A few weekends ago we found ourselves in Yellow Cab on four separate occasions -- it was a long night. Anyhow, Yellow Cab was on it every time that we called. It was almost like a dream....... Us: "Hello, Yellow Cab? Yes, we're going to need a cab at Sixth and Penn, downtown. Yes. How many? There are three of us. We are walking in that direction, we don't mind waiting." No more than three minutes later, as we rounded the corner, a cab was at the corner of Sixth and Penn, waiting. Me: "Do you think that's our taxi?" Friend 1: "Can't be. That was way too fast." Friend 2: "Excuse me, sir, are you waiting here for anyone?" The Driver: "Are you Mike?" Friend 2: (Mike): "Yep." The Driver: "Get in!" Our driver, who introduced himself immediately as "Big D," was awesome. I actually can't even articulate in words how great of a character Big D truly was. Within seconds of pulling away, Big D was asking us about our night, encouraging us to have a great time and just down right being a really nice guy. And then, it happened. Big D: "You guys seem cool. You want to rock out? To a great jam?" Us: "Of course!" Fully expecting the bass to hit hard and the beat to drop, I "turned my swag on" and got ready to "put my hands in the air." Big D, though, had other plans. Just a moment after we indicated that we were ready to rock out, Big D cranked "In the Air Tonight" by Phil Collins. I felt like the song hit me right in the face. I just didn't see it coming. It was awesome. We cruised through town with Collins blaring -- the music washing over us like only early 80s soft rock can. Big D even graced us with a cell phone recording of him singing "In the Air Tonight." This guy was a real fan. I was in awe. Yellow Cab continued to come through for the rest of the night with prompt service and fair prices. With the exception of one guy taking a pit stop at the gas station, everything was perfect. All things considered, it couldn't have gone better. With so many drivers, Yellow Cab is really hit-or-miss. But that night, something was just "in the air." And whatever it was, it was awesome. Thanks, Yellow Cab.

Distracted driving, smoking, yellow cab is hoping for a lawsuit that's all I can think.

I regularly use Lyft as my primary mode of transportation since I don't drive. I occasionally pay for rides on my own, but most of them are contracted through my Medicaid. I'm a 4.9-star rider who takes this service seriously--I tip when I can, and I give drivers a 5.00-star rating at the end of every ride because I appreciate the service they provide. During this particular ride, I had a grocery bag with me. Almost immediately, the driver began complaining that my grocery bag would "rub off" on her car seats. Despite my confusion about what she meant, she refused to continue the ride and demanded that I get out of the car. I was so shocked by her behavior that I called my mother on the phone, who was able to hear the entire conversation as it unfolded. The driver told me she would report me for this supposed violation, then left me stranded on a dirt road near the KinderCare in Bethel Park and drove away. Afterward, she made herself invisible on the Lyft app, though I don't know if she actually followed through with reporting me or not. I immediately reported her through the Lyft app, but the damage was already done. My mother had to leave her workplace in the middle of her workday to come pick me up from the side of a dirt road. As someone who relies on Lyft for transportation to get groceries, attend appointments, go to work, and handle daily activities, being abandoned like this over a grocery bag is completely unacceptable and, frankly, discriminatory. I'm extremely disappointed with how this situation was handled and deeply concerned about the lack of accountability for drivers who can refuse service for arbitrary reasons and leave passengers stranded in unsafe locations. This experience has shaken my confidence in a service I depend on for my basic mobility needs.

I use a power wheelchair, so I was strapped in and pretty well committed before any of this happened. The driver has me strapped in, then gets into his seat. He turns and hands me a mask and informs me that I have to wear it. I responded that I didn't have to wear one on the way there, nor in the hospital. He informed me that the drivers are allowed to make their own rules. We rode in silence. When I looked up, it was clear that he was doing something with the phone in his lap. He would glance up at the road, then back down to his lap. My son called me and I referred to the driver as a clown. The driver then made another call and complained to someone that I had referred to him as a clown. He then began telling whoever he was talking to that I had a problem with masks. I immediately corrected him and said that my displeasure did not stem from the mask, it came from the way I was treated. This driver waited until I was locked in and we were moving to inform me of his personal policy. Keep in mind that he never said this was company policy or a mandate. It was his own fear driven agenda that he decided to force on anyone unfortunate enough to ride with him. I also informed him that if he had told me of his policy ahead of time, I would have requested a different driver. Since I've already had 3 injections and mask mandates, even in health care facilities, have been completely lifted, and we certainly were social distanced, Over 6' apart, I didn't see the point of a mask. When we pulled up to my home, I took off the mask and set it off to the side. This set him off and he began screaming that I had to take the mask with me. I didn't want it in the first place, so I didn't have a problem leaving it with him. He kept screaming at me and attempted to block my chair from backing down the ramp. Either he moved or my chair moved him and I eventually got free, with him yelling the entire time. As I went around to my front door, he made a phone call screaming that I tried to run him over. He finally left, but not before doing a considerable amount of yelling that I had breathed into the mask and left it there. How someone that germ phobic could be so insane over masks but not carry gloves for a situation such as this is quite beyond my comprehension. Again, if he had informed me about his personal policy demands before loading me into the vehicle, this would all have been avoided. Classy Cabs are very unclassy.
