I found this office from the VSP website list of local doctors and I am glad I did. With my…read moreprevious job I had Kaiser for my vision insurance but now I have VSP with my current employer and this felt like a much quicker process and more personal experience. I had set an appointment over the phone to get fitted for contacts. Earlier in the week I already had an eye exam elsewhere so I came in with my prescription ready in hand. After filling out my paperwork I met with Dr. Harris who is probably one of the most personable doctors I have met. During my appointment he explained about using math with my eye measurements to determine the sizing contacts and types of contacts I would need for my eyes. I hadn't used contacts in almost 10 years but putting them in came back to me easily, like riding a bicycle. He reminded me of the do's and don'ts about wearing them in relation to my job and lifestyle and even said I was a good candidate for lasik surgery which that option was never offered to me before. I enjoyed my visit here, all the staff was really nice and on top of that my contacts I had ordered have a $75 rebate (basically 55% off) which they submitted the rebate for me, so I ended up saving a bunch of money by coming here. I would recommend Petaluma Eye Care to anybody, this was a great experience.

I was warmly greeted the moment I walked in, the frames sales floor was clean/modern/stocked/inviting and easy to navigate, and I was into my eye exam within five minutes (yes, FIVE). The first gal who helped me was amazing (Diane?) - she handled some of the preliminaries on my eye exam and told me about the optical scan for an extra nominal charge ($30/35), and explained it perfectly so that I had to have it, and felt comfortable with it. After we concluded the preliminary eye exam, I walked out to the sales floor to peruse the frames for a hot minute or two before being warmly greeted by the eye doctor (James) who was excellent--knowledgeable, professional, and made everything easy to understand without a hint of rush. From there, the lovely team member (Shelly) who helped me order my frames and check out sealed the deal. She was super helpful and kind - navigating through her online system to try to locate my vision insurance provider. She even went in the back to try to find one of the frame colors (that didn't appear to be on the sales floor) and made sure I had the eyeglasses that I really wanted and then carefully explained the pricing in a way that I completely understood what I was purchasing. In fact, I ended up purchasing two pairs, I was so impressed with everything. Every single person I interacted with was clearly well-trained and delivered what I can only describe as platinum-level customer service. Everything was explained clearly, the process made total sense, and the timing? Flawless. I was in and out in under an hour, glasses are already on the way, and they'll be arriving at my doorstep in Sonoma about two weeks. Efficient, friendly, & genuinely enjoyable--who knew an eye appointment could feel this good? 10/10, no notes.

I told her which frames I was thinking of and she made some suggestions. I had my RX with me. My glasses arrived and I love them. She also adjusted my WP sunglasses which I had bought many years ago. I like that they have so many styles available and that I was able to purchase RX glasses for $95 which also came in with a sturdy case.

They charged me $600 for the glasses, and they charged medí-cal $100 for the glasses. When I got the glasses 4 weeks later, it was the wrong prescription, they told me they would need them back so they could send them back to the lab for another 4 weeks. I told them I need glasses sooner than that and requested a refund/return. They told me the don't do refunds. I found another place that got me the same pair of frames, same prescription and it only cost me $280. The glasses from the other place were ready in less than 5 days! I threatened to call the optometry board and the federal trade commission and they refunded me the $600. After checking the eyes and making prescription they "insisted" that I also did the "contact lens power" tests. I told them I did not need it for now. But I had to do that too as they were relentless, the tests trial took another 3 visits and one over the call discussion before it was finalised and the doctor got highly impatient by the time we finalised that what was comfortable to me to wear and not what she was insisting me to agree with. Also at the outset I had informed them that I would be getting my glasses done at another place as I could not home on to the frames that they had on the display. Fast forward... the glasses' prescription were not right and I was sent to the her being my OD to get the prescription corrected.
