Good prices and selection, helpful staff and the doc got my prescription perfectly "tuned" to how I was planning to use my glasses. My go-to place when VSP is about to reset! (Just wish they were open on weekends too.) read more

Fab experience at BrightEyes, from the first point of contact, to the exam - great job!

I almost never leave reviews but I felt like this was warranted. I had such a nice experience at Bright Eyes. Every member of the staff was kind and knowledgeable and the office was clean and welcoming. I have already recommended them to friends and family and will continue to do so. I was dreading this appointment and it ended up being completely stress free. read more

After moving to Petaluma mid-Covid, I've needed to find a local optometrist. A quick google search led me to Bright Eyes Optometry and I could not be happier with my experience. First, they have online booking which is extremely convenient. I decided to call and schedule for the first appointment and was pleasantly surprised they were able to accommodate me the same week. The office interior is bright and welcoming. Dr. Chen was personable, thorough, and explained things every step of the way. I spent a bit of time picking out frames and Carly was super helpful and gave great suggestions. I am so excited to get my new frames. I highly recommend Dr. Chen and her staff, this could not have been a more positive experience from start to finish. read more

We came here at our friend's recommendation, all the way from the East Bay. The office is incredible, spacious, and has a great selection of frames! Definitely a unique, boutique collection of frames that stand out from the typical Luxottica frames in most offices. Dr. Chen and staff are welcoming and friendly. During my eye exam, Dr. Chen explained in great detail what areas I should keep an eye on -- something that my past optometrists have not. Excellent experience, would definitely come back! read more

I was so excited to see a new optometrist open up in downtown Petaluma! Dr. Chen was very responsive when I reached out and booked an appointment for my annual exam as soon as they opened their office. The office space is gorgeous, very clean and with all the latest technology - a great change of pace for me after years of going to Lens Crafters. Dr. Chen and her staff were super friendly and helpful. Dr. Chen is an efficient, kind and personable optometrist. She was very knowledgeable and thorough with getting to know me as a new patient. I'm looking forward to seeing her practice grow and staying on as her patient for many years. You can't ask for a better optometry experience in Petaluma, I highly recommend visiting Dr. Chen! Edited to add: I haven't purchased frames there yet, I will be back in 2022 to do that once my benefits kick in, but their frame selection looked wonderful! read more

Very good doctor; the receptionist was nice but not as experienced, so you need to explain some basic information, as needed.

I drove to Petaluma from Sonoma and I am so happy I did. (Takes weeks to get an apt. With optometrists in Sonoma and if you're a new patient - forget about it!). Dr. Chen's new office is equipped with all the latest equipment and frames. She is very knowledgeable, kind and patient. She took the time to do a good, thorough exam! I'll be back nect year and am glad to have found a professional who can see me this week, not weeks from now! read more

All interactions with the business were stellar. Phone to schedule appt. Quick and helpful. Dr. Chen was friendly, informative, and very responsive. If anyone is looking for a new eye doctor, I highly recommend Dr. Mina Chen. I recently came back from an appointment with Dr. Chen and was very impressed with my experience! I've been going to my previous optometrist's office for many years, but was looking for a switch and found her. She is very professional and personable as I felt comfortable talking to her about any of my eye concerns. She's extremely knowledgeable regarding glasses and contacts and was able to help me with both. She takes the time to thoroughly explain what she is doing and what the results mean, while still being efficient -- you can tell she truly cares about her work and her patients. Also, she was also able to figure out what was wrong with my most recent pair of glasses that were making my head hurt, whereas previously, I was told to keep wearing them to adjust. read more

I am so lucky that I found Dr. Chen as my family optometrist. She did take a good care of us. Dr. Chen explained my current vision condition in details. I like the photo that she took from the back of my eye. I could see the health of my optic nerve and diseases that may run into my family. Dr. Chen spent her time with my 5 years old son to follow her instructions. My son felt fun and interesting to see all the cool equipments in his first eye exam. Her office is clean and well organized. Easy to find a parking space. Her staffs are friendly and helpful to choose the right glasses for us. I highly recommend this place to my friends. read more

Could not have been happier. Had a emergency with possible detached retina and I literally picked her off Yelp because she was closest to my house. Did not know what to expect. She told me to come right in then. She could not have been more professional or thorough. Has state of the art equipment. Took time to educate me. I was headed out of town and she cleared me to travel and gave me the name of a specialist where I was going in case I needed help. Incredibly nice person too! read more

Dr. Chen is the best eye doctor I've ever had! She's very friendly, polite, and knowledgeable. I've seen many eye doctors for the last couple of decades because I have terrible eye sight, but Dr. Chen has been the only Dr. who explained everything in details even about what my insurance can do. The office is sparkly clean, and the staff is very nice and efficient as well. I'm really happy that she has her office close to where I live. Highly recommended! read more

Wow! Defiantly coming here for my next Eye appointment. I called this morning around 9am and they had a cancellation for the afternoon. I came in and no waiting, went in right away. Dr Chen was phenomenal. She answered all my questions and placed my order for contacts as well. read more

I've had a rough go with my eyes for WAY too long. I heard about Dr. Chen, I called and actually got to speak with her to see if i was a fit. That already wowed me. She really heard what i was saying and the frustration I felt. I showed up with my u-haul full of prescriptions/ glasses. She (and Carly) dug in and provided care, information and recommendations I had never heard of with the prior SEVEN eye doctors I had seen. I started to get twinklings of hope, and at no time did i feel rushed. She was very thorough, up for the challenge and compassionate. She was able to detect that i had a wicked case of dry eye and referred me to a specialist for treatment. I am now wearing new specs, with Dr Chen's prescription that i adjusted to within minutes and my eyes are no longer burning from dryness. Dr. Chen hit a bullseye. (pun intended) Carly is very skilled and meticulous as an optician, the office is sparkling, calm and the music is serene. The whole experience was top notch. read more

after a brief conversation with the front desk help I was set up with an appointment in minutes and at the outset I was quoted $350 which was to include an eye, exam contact lens fitting, end a hundred of those dollars were to be applied towards a purchase of contacts of my choice. only minutes later the front desk help realize that he had made a mistake clarified with me that I did not actually want a pair of glasses and suggested that I just set up a contact lens fitting for $200 of which one of those dollars would also be applied to the contact lenses. this situation was more than acceptable for me so I started the Trek from Sonoma to Petaluma California to visit Bright eyes about 20 minutes into my journey I received a phone call from Dr Chen apparently calling me to correct a mistake let the front desk had made. no longer was it going to be possible for me to be fitted for my contacts and to just purchase them now she was telling me that it was going to require $350 to do a full comprehensive exam contact lens fitting but between the mistake that the front desk made and poor communication on the part of Dr. Chen I had now arrived in Petaluma and decided that I would go over the correct procedures and products needed for me to get the items that I desperately needed. I had a contact lens prescription that was out of date which shouldn't have been an issue at all being that I was told originally I could come in for a contact lens fitting and then purchase contact lenses. but this was not correct according to Dr Chen and it would require me to also have an eyeglasses exam which I was not interested in initially nor had this been conveyed when she had contacted me while I was in route to her business. so after wasting an hour I arrive and what could only be otherwise described as a clean and a nice presentation of an optometry business but sometimes it pays to crack the book and read a few pages and looks can be deceiving. Dr Chen took zero responsibility for the mistake that her employee had made she quickly tried to refer me to another business even though she was only trying to get rid of me because I was not willing to go through with a full glasses eye exam contact lens fitting and purchasing contacts all at once. when I do believe there was another upsell item something about retinal photography she used the excuse that she's a young doctor with a relatively new practice to keep in mind and went as far as to make an absurd claim that because of vicarious liability making sure that I left being able to see what's the furthest from her priorities. don't let the acting fool you, look past the facade everything that's glittering is in gold and I got to say not only will I not ever be requiring their services or products but I'd strongly recommend that this review be taken seriously I have no ill will for the people involved but the business seriously need some fine-tuning. read more
