I used this service to go to the airport one morning. The driver was very communicative and a few minutes early, despite me giving only about 15 minutes warning that I needed to be picked up. I love that the app shows you the cars around you and you get instant feedback on who is coming to get you. It is also very convenient to pay with a credit card on file and not have to worry about it at the end of the ride. With tip, it ended up being only about $5 more than a regular cab and the ride is much nicer both in terms of the car quality and courtesy of the driver. Don't bother with an expensive car service that you have to book weeks in advance when you can get Uber. Or a cheapo cab where you wonder if they are actually coming or know how to get where you need to go. read more

This is happening too often. Your riders expect that your drivers know where they're going, not to ask them. I use über to go to the doctors office because I cannot drive nor remember streets and location. A handful of my drivers did not listen to their Gps, making the trip longer in distance and time. Pretty upsetting because I told each driver just to listen to the GPS. I usually call my uber so that I have 20 minutes extra to prepare. I've been late too many times to count. Uber, please make "becoming a driver" more difficult. Make sure they know at least 5 big destinations in their area, and use their gps... And almost all of my drivers did not know they had a map so they could find their riders easier. Update the app, update your team. Something. I've given this service so many chances and found time and time again it's a piece of shit. First of all, that fact that you do not have a customer service email or number, is absolutely unacceptable and shows that this company really doesn't give a damn about their customers experience. I get it's a huge service, but hey, here's an idea, how about different customer service numbers or emails for different areas ? Wow. I know, sounds complex, but it's actually that easy. My most recent ride, I scheduled at 630pm, to arrive at 810pm. I confirmed my location and pick up. My ride was 17 minutes late and nobody picked up my ride until the END of my grace period for my pick up. . Not only that, he kept swerving, tried to take different exists that don't even go into the same direction of my drop off location. I constantly had to correct him. By the time I got out of the car I felt sick to my stomach because of his horrid driving. And to make matters even better, I had a friend order me an Uber to get home. One again, Uber was ordered at 11pm, and scheduled to pick me up at 230am. . They never showed, canceled the ride, then charged my friend a cancelation fee because the DRIVER canceled the ride. If I'm scheduling a ride HOURS in advance and you're charging me $45 for that ride, you BETTER HAVE A DRIVER AT MY LOCATION AND ON TIME. Will forever tell everyone I know to use lyft instead. I am absolutely shocked! I first used Uber in NYC .. great experience. Then used it frequently in South Beach/Miami .. great experience! Why do I consider it great? BECAUSE I have serious lung issues . . and every time I get into most filthy taxi cabs I start coughing like crazy .. am miserable the entire ride! My first Uber experience .. amazed! Clean as a whistle .. found out it is REQUIRED! WOW! I have NEVER gotten into an Uber vehicle and coughed! So now returning to Minneapolis I googled and was so happy to find Uber now in Minneapolis and also working the airport. BUT there is NO WAY I am going to use Uber with the number of negative complaints on drivers that I have read on Yelp! What a disappointment. I used this service a month or so ago while in MN. The app was great, you could see your driver, and know exactly when they were arriving. The price with the discount codes, were cheaper than the taxis, and it was all done via the app, no cash or awkward tip moments, it was all inclusive. Plus the dirver had water and a mint for me in the car. Plus the cars are all nice new towncars, no musty old taxi's here. Great app and concept! read more

i used uber for the first time just recently and was shocked how simple it was, how quickly the driver was to me (3 minutes) and how inexpensive it was. Car was like new... clean, driver was a nice retired guy. I am an uber fan so far... but havent used the service extensively. coolest thing beyond the above noted... you get a pic of the driver, and can call or txt them to give them location specifics once they are on the way. i feel for cab drivers trying to earn a living but have had so many bad experiences with mpls cabs that uber gets my vote. read more

I am a resident of Minneapolis, MN and I have a huge problem with Uber. Their drivers call me on a weekly basis, sometimes more. I have received calls from Uber drivers in Florida, California and many other states, often at 3AM! I will tell them, and text them to stop calling and texting me but they often continue to insist that I "come out" and get my Uber when, obviously, I have not called them for a car. I called for an Uber once, over a year ago and didn't like how smarmy the driver was and decided that I much prefer taxis; ever since I get these calls. The more I find out about Uber's BS business practices and "surge pricing" the more I wonder why Uber has such loyal followers. Jacob, our driver was great! However, I will never ride with Uber again!!!! I will call for a taxi as it is more reliable and you DON'T get ripped off! I made my Uber reservation at 6 am, to be picked up between 7:15-7:30 to be taken to the airport, 5 miles away from where we were and was told the fare would be about $12. As we waited for our Uber driver at my place of employment. I got a text message at 7:12 that fares where higher due to demand and I could cancel within 5 minutes and not be charged-WELL Uber I didn't see this message until 7:20-(after your 5 minute LIMIT) when I checked to see where my Uber driver was by the way who didn't arrive until 7:40!!! Plus the text message didn't say how much more I would be charged, just said fares were higher, well it was almost $29 higher and we were charged $33.55 to go 5 miles, when I was quoted $12!!! AND we almost missed our flight because we didn't get dropped off until after 8 am for our 8:40 flight! Jacob told us 2 drivers canceled to pick us up prior to Jacob picking us up, and that's why he was late. Uber you failed and ripped us off and never had permission from me to charge $33.55! Consumers beware: On Saturday night was my first time using the Uber service, and I have heard nothing but amazing things. We ordered the luxury SUV and were on our way in style. During the ride the driver stated that the Uber service has stopped and I had to rerequest him. This resulted in two separate charges on my card and an additional $20 fare. This is a scam, so do fall for it! When we asked the driver to pick us back up he demanded $100 (double what it should have been to get us to our destination) cash plus tip. Those of you familiar with Uber know that with Uber all payments and tips are handled automatically by the Uber service and your credit card on file. We had to find our own home because other drivers were not available, and we were not going to be held hostage by an obscene price. This morning I promptly filed a complaint. While the service was apologetic, the only refund I received was the $20 I was overcharged in the first place. The company offered no credit for future travel or a cent more that what was owed to be. They randomly charge your account. I signed up for this app on new years eve to get a cab. It said that the wait would be 20 minutes so we waited 40 minutes before getting a ride with someone else. That is to be expected on new years eve but we were still charged a dollar. I figured that was just the company checking to make sure my credit card was valid before sending a driver out so I didnt file a complaint. Uber is a rip off. Extremely poor service and very risky for drivers with no emergency number for them. Drivers are totally on there own. I down loaded there ap on my phone. As soon as I put my credit card info into it (which is mandatory), it started sending cars in the area to my house. One after another, after another. When I would call and cancel or have the driver cancel, Uber would bill me a cancellation fee and then send another car. Even though I never ordered a car I had no way of stopping the cars from coming. When I talked to the drivers they had no way of calling anyone at Uber either to tell them to stop. The drivers and myself tried to find a customer service number but nothing is listed at there web site or on the internet when we googled it. I finally removed there Ap from my phone and the cars finally stopped coming (after 5 vehicles showed up). They are very efficient at billing. I still got a bill from them even though I never actually used them! Use a Taxi, they are more reliable and you can call someone if you have a problem. read more

Said we agreed to surge pricing which they se at 6.2 times the normal rate!!! Everything works until it doesn't. I was happily using Uber for quite awhile until I had a driver that decided not to show up, which caused me to miss something that I had paid for. The customer service that I received was horrible. Horrible, might be putting it lightly actually. Their representatives would just mark my issue as resolved without reading my questions. If I was lucky they would just send a "standard" response back that had nothing to do with my question or they would not send a response at all. I had to contact close to 10 times to get an answer to my actual question, which is ridiculous. I have since switched to Lyft for all my riding services and have had great experience over there, and I will suggest Lyft to anyone that asks. Good bye Uber and good riddance. read more

If you get a bad driver hold them accountable by rating them accordingly. If you get a good driver give 5 stars. Drivers feel a lot of pressure to keep their star ratings high since a driver rating of 4.6 generates improvement email communications from head office. Remember riders are rated too so if your star rating is lower, the good drivers will "pass" on the request and not risk their own star rating by picking up a bad rider and you will get only the lessor drivers. So watch the drivers rate you and ask what your rating is. Your perception of service as a passenger maybe very much related to your passenger star rating. I think all people that have rated Uber less than 3 stars here should be held accountable and post their own rider star rating. We might see a pattern. If you are first time UBER user and this will be your first ride you start with 5.0 out of 5. and under promotions type in BNTZ6UE for 20 dollars off your first ride which is worth about 11 miles. Once you take your first ride you can get more free rides by inviting others to take their first ride. Do this from your UBER app. Each person you invite you will get a free ride and they will get a free ride. read more

I go to the designated pick-up area sent to me by Uber. But when I get there and am waiting,I then have gotten a call from the Uber driver to meet me some other location in the airport complex.
