I am never able to get a ride. I have to keep requesting a ride and maybe by some miracle I would get a ride. It SUCKS

Despite occasional driver issues and essentially zero live customer service, I've had pretty good luck with Uber. A couple times I got charged extra for time as the driver stalled before picking us up or parked blocks away, but I got it back disputing the charge in-app. Upfront pricing makes it infinitely better than the tradition cab model as far as the getting ripped off potential, besides better cars and service. Uber's been more expensive lately though, making it about 20% higher than Lyft on average in Minneapolis. Lyft's app is sketchy however and drivers less reliable. read more

I used a pre-scheduled Uber black to get from the airport to the hotel. The drive, car were fine but I don't have much luck with the pre-scheduled pickups. It was delayed again, I think it is better to get it real time to avoid a delay. I did that on the way back and it was a 1 minute wait. read more

Uber stole $30 from me for a cancellation fee on a trip that was completed on I never cancelled the trip, it says driver cancelled. I have contacted repeatedly they have not given me any response. Uber Eats stole $31.88 for a supreme pizza I ordered from Pizza Hut but I got a cheese pizza with no meat. The supreme pizza is expensive. I've had several drivers land a block or two away. If I hadn't seen my driver yesterday, I wouldn't even know he drove right by the correct address with me standing their waving my arms at him, then turn down the wrong street, go halfway down that block, pull over and put his 4-ways on. I thought he'd had a heart attack. But he is one of now multiple drivers who get into your general area, then charge 'waiting fees' while you try to figure out what random place they went to. Then they argue by showing their phone, which said the correct address yesterday but the dot was off. Uber also adds a lot of other fees well beyond the initial posted one, and the shown wait times vs. actual are "bait and switch" off. I'm done with Uber. I'm switching to Lyft as we all should. The Uber website does not allow entry of multiple issues with Uber. We in fact did had multiple issues with Uber at the Rochester Minnesota Airport. Specifically, the Uber car was very dirty inside and out, the driver and car reeked of heavy tobacco smoke, the car was 20 minutes late from the original scheduled time, Uber did not respond to multiple requests regarding where is my driver and the price nearly doubled from the original estimate to almost $50 for transportation to a local hotel 8 miles away, We have used Uber in other cities with excellent results, but there is clearly a problem with Uber management in Rochester, MN and Travelers should be aware of it. read more

I'm Uber impressed by the rise of Uber and Lyft. Although when Barbie rides in these it's more like Boober. I actually prefer Lyft to Uber and I have lots of reasons for that, but here at the Mall of America Uber is omnipresent and they do a pretty good job. They're kind of putting a lot of taxi companies out of business but maybe that was always going to happen considering how shady some taxi companies could be. My fare was increased 6$ because of a tech issue. I had to explain the problem multiple times, was told there was no one else to talk to, operator finally agreed it was a tech problem. Be Warned. I was using the Uber app, on my Android phone. I was simply looking to see what a ride to the airport would cost. Somehow, I caused the app to summin a driver, 3 days before I needed the ride. As soon as I was notified that Uber had charged my credit card, I went into the app and was able to cancel the ride request. Today, I was notified that my credit card was charged $250, and Uber sent me an email stating that the charge was for "rider associated damages.". Note that the ride was going to cost $40. Honestly, If I could leave zero stars, I would. My second time ever using uber, and they left me on the streets in the cold of minnesota (0 dgrees or less). The driver kept saying he was on the way and then he would drop the trip. So, this happened over three times. We stood outside in the middle of the road, because we could no longer stay at the house we were at; and we were left in the cold for over an hour when the original driver was only 6 minutes away, but then dropped the trip. Totally left me stranded, Lyft short notice option was $300+ and would have made me late for my international flight. Wow, took an hour & half to get app to download, hotel said use Uber as taxis here are no reliable. Had ride booked for surgery this morning. They excepted the fare but never showed up, never called or texted just nothing at all. The taxi that the hotel said is not reliable I called them & they were here in ten mins so I just made it in time for surgery this morning. If I would have to come back for surgery because I was late would have cost me over 2k to come back again. Can not say enough Uber just does not care at all. My friend and I took an Uber to a concert at US Bank stadium and planned to take one back. Two stops, my place and her's, both in Minneapolis but one is a few blocks from Edina, about a $45+ ride there and what I imagine would be a $55-$60 ride back given it was a Saturday night at about 11pm. The ride there was great, no problem. After the concert, we stood outside in the rain and cold while driver after driver dropped us. My friend's card was pinged so many times it started rejecting uber. I guess uber drivers were just too good for $55 plus the 25% percent tip I always give. Ouchie. Sad for you. read more

I had seven Uber rides this weekend and all went quite well. Easy to hail, easy to meet, clean cars, courteous drivers who could keep a conversation going. For the most part Uber is better than Taxi rides, both in fare and service. However, nothing is perfect. It really all depends on who you get as a driver. The type of driver makes a huge difference. I've had Uber rides that are 5 stars, and lately, some really bad ones. Uber is slipping and letting bad eggs into their workforce. They even hire drivers who don't have working GPS -so the rider has to do all the work to give the right direction or the driver would get lost. I would say the majority of drivers are average or lacking effort in adhering to Uber mission statement. I've only ever had at most, 2 drivers, who truly represented the "TRUE" Uber experience, meeting and exceeding expectations. Recently the worst experiences has been with Omar, who drives a Chevrolet Impala, Oluwafemi, who drives a Dodge Caravan, and Jawad who is supposed to be driving a "Toyota Camry". Beware of those drivers! Omar is an aggressive person and I must have caught him on a bad day because he got very angry when I asked for him to stop at a corner -which was easier for him to drop me off, but not what was on the GPS. He started to get aggressive saying it wasn't what was on the GPS and I got scared for my safety. Oluwafemi, is a sneaky one, he changed my START and END addresses so that he could skim a couple of bucks off of me. Jawad showed up in a car that wasn't the Toyota Camry listed on his profile, the license plate also didn't match. My bf and I walked up and down the block trying to find him in the dark and did not recognize him b/c of the wrong license plate & wrong car. We waited nearly 5 minutes and Jawad does not even bother to call to let us know that his car does not match his profile -it seemed like he was trying to do a scam, because with Uber, if you make a driver wait 5 minutes or more, the driver can charge you $5 extra. So anyway, I took the initiative to call Jawad. He then half-heartedly and unconvincingly tries to pretend that he was "just about to call me". YEAH RIGHT BUDDY. He made extra effort to be as polite and talkative as possible, but it was kinda awkward. If I hadn't been with my boyfriend, there was no way I would've gotten into that car with Jawad alone. If your license plate & car doesn't match your profile, it seems super sketchy, like you're hiding something, I woulda just cancelled had it been just me. The rest of the ride with Jawad was super sketchy too, he deliberately drove around in a wide circle to get to our destination & then passed our destination by 4-5 blocks before turning around to get back to it. There were a million other MORE DIRECT & FASTER routes, but he meandered around for quite a bit. By the time he completed his sketchy little trip with us, our trip charges went up by a $1 from the original quote. This was obviously what he wanted, GEEZUS. LAME. I've reported these drivers to Uber, but Uber still keeps them employed, so watch out for them. Pictures of them have been posted on here with my comments. I can't wait till Google cars self driving cars come along. It's easier dealing with AI than dealing with fallible humans IMO. read more

Gosh I hate Uber. And "Vitally" with his Uber XL in particular can get bent. Confirmed my ride to the airport, then never came. According to the map, he spun his wheels downtown for about 10 minutes, then just headed off in the opposite direction! I called multiple times but no answer. The fake display number rolled through to a real number, which I called and again, no answer. DM me if you want his number to practice your prank calling. But don't worry! Uber was kind enough to waive the cancellation fee. I ended up having to drive like a bat out of hell to the airport and park. Pitiful. Lyft it is from now on! I used Uber today to get me to an event. I will be honest, I didn't know what to expect when I signed up. I downloaded an app to my iPhone, created my account with my CC on the web and I was good to go. When it was time to request my ride I opened the app and hit the one button "set pickup location" then the app told me the closest car was 15 min away and I requested my pickup. All with the push of a button on my iPhone. The phone knew where I was and directed the driver right to me. I also saw a turn by turn update of where the car was that was coming to pick me up and a time update as those turns were made. The black Lincoln Town car pulled up and the driver popped out and greeted me while opening the door. I already knew his name and what he looked like because the Uber app told me his name and had a facebook like picture of him on my phone. I was greeted by a bottle of water and a New York Times. The ride was smooth, the car was clean, the driver was super nice. It was a very posh ride. As we pulled up to my drop off point the driver came around opened my door and we shook hands. No need to use cash in Uber land and the tip was already included. I love Uber already after my first use and they just opened to the Twin Cities market. i recommend Uber to anyone and everyone. read more

Gottta have an Uber account cause it's always there when you need an uber rescue. Your car is broken, you had too many drinks, you need to have your parents picked up, someone needs a ride to or from the airport, your car got towed, your car got totaled, you though about how parking downtown will cost almost or as much as an Uber ride. Uber thanks for always being there for me! Do note that the pricing increases as does demand so try and leave your event early or later. My other pro tip is to not be picked up/dropped off at busy addresses. I have used Uber quite a few times at pretty much all times of the day and really like the service thus far. Given that they started with about 20 cars in the Twin Cities and now have over 500 in the short time that they have been operating here, it appears I'm not the only one that thinks this. As the service has grown, wait times for cabs have remained generally very reasonable (usually less than 10 minutes if you're near either of the downtowns). Most of the cars are registered as limos with the state, so they're generally very nice rides with equally nice drivers. You also have the ability to request an SUV should you have a larger group. As others have mentioned, the Uber app generally works very well. It shows you the nearest available drivers when you're requesting a cab and the estimated wait times it provides are generally pretty accurate. I have run into a couple of GPS issues with the app, but overall I've found it to be a pretty streamlined process, especially with the billing that goes straight to your credit card (or PayPal account). Yes, it costs more than your typical taxi, but given the quality of service and ride, it's worth the premium. read more

We scheduled a ride for pick up to the airport at 4 a.m. At 4 I get a text the driver is 1 minute away , seven minutes later I get a text saying " sorry couldn't find a driver " . So they lied to me saying the driver was a minute away , they made us late for our flight because even at 4 they were acting like somebody was in the way . At 4:07 we are informed otherwise , I understand scheduling is not a guarantee, but you can also advise the person maybe a half hour ahead to give them an opportunity to get something else scheduled . Uber used to be fairly honest. Fairly. However, they've now started gouging customers. On a 6 mile trip for me they added a cancellation fee (?). I made no cancellation. Then added something about Uber cash, which I don't have any idea about. Finally, they charged for a wait fee, when I was at the car rental place waiting for them, so, no, that was not the case. The dishonesty would have been enough for me to find a different service, but it's the way they respond when you try to discuss this with them. It's a racket. And frankly, with all of the non-native English speakers, it seems to work better for them. Never again. I've removed their app. Don't mess with seniors. There are lots of us. read more

It's robbery to say it will be 14-19 dollars and then charge me $55 for a surge charge I never chose. Never would I pay $55. I will be having to take this problem higher up and I won't stop. Warning Uber driver license plate # 583 UPL in a blue car Had a green light but was more interested in playing on his smart phone. Honked to get him moving as 4 other cars cleared the intersection @ Chicago/Franklin, in the opposite direction before he started to move. Barely moving he kept accesing his smart phone while barely driving 10mph in a 30mph zone. I honked 1 more time hoping he might pay attention to driving instead. He then pulled over to flip me off as i drove on by. I pulled over before the next light to hope to let him understand it's not legal to drive while distracted driving and using a smart phone device. He flipped me off yet another time as i told him to please not endanger lives as he tries to drive. He told me "TO GO FUCK MYSELF" and he is "GETTING OUT TO COME KICK MY ASS" Not only can he not drive , but has horrible customer relations skills. Uber has no phone number to offer up feedback, so this appears to be the only other option. I'm sorry but i take Uber almost every day and i always have more than one stop.... Today not one, but two drivers put me out.... Well.... actually the first driver picked me up and then told me he wasn't gonna wait because he had another job to get to and he was only gonna get $4 from this anyway.... i asked him why did he take the call then if he knew that i had extra stops and, he said it does not show them that.... but like i said i take Ubers almost every day.... He said he was gonna drop me at Cub and cancel the ride,that's crazy...... So anyways he left and i made a ride for yet another Uber to come and get me from the Cub foods and bring to the gas station before home.... So he came and as i usually do when i get in to make sure they know, i ask "you know i have two stops right'"? He continues to say yes but he is not gonna do it.... And i have to get out!!! Right there at the Cub he is not going to make any money from that is what he said..... This is crazy to me because my money if already taken from my card when i order the ride basically..... that why you have to cancel because the drivers like that wont when they are still acting like they did the drive..... According to an email that I got from uber last night -it's ubers birthday, u re is five. Quite a big toddler I say. Anyways since I signed up for uber mere 5 months ago I have managed to take 46 rides. Overall it's good, but when it's bad it's really bad -cons ---there are some really really smelly cars ---reckless drivers ---drivers who do not know what they are doing. I.e. One argued with me whether hwy 100 was closed or not. Etc. ---surges --- driver Hassan who drives a black Nissan Murano (avoid at all costs) Pros ---reasonably cheap ---some drivers are really nice and friendly and even offer you candy (never take candy from a stranger in car -does this rule no longer apply?) --- gets you from one place to another Overall when you aren't a pitch it's not so bad. I am both an Uber driver and a passenger. I did not realize how much star ratings mean to both the driver and the passenger until I became a driver. To all customers out there: If you get in the car and it is clean, comfortable, and the driver offers you temperature choice, music choice, candy, gum, a cell phone charger, is friendly, kind, professional, and gets you to your destination safely and punctual, please do not give less than 5 stars. Just 1- 4 star rating hurts our overall ratings tremendously. If there is something you wish to see changed, please ask your driver to change it, versus remaining quiet then having it be reflected in a less than a 5 star rating later on. On behalf of myself, and my friends that drive for Uber, our # 1 goal is to make each and every ride for our customers 5 stars by offering some or all of the above mentioned perks and amenities.
